Big 12 champs with 7 juco starters on D.  Seems like that should be an easy sell to a juco D player.

Highly rated transfers were a big part of it this time (Brown and Harper).  We haven't got another one of those in 3 years.  Please tell me where the next Big12 Defensive Player of the Year is on our roster or recruiting class.

I'm not nearly as concerned as some others and I think we'll be fine, but I have a very hard time believing we'll be able to sustain finishing in the top 2 in the Big12.

I remember mangino beating the everloving crap out of us with recruits that we wanted.

I think zacker is getting concerned.

everyone should be.  the core of this staff (joe bob, del, dimel, mo, smith, bill) has proven (once again) that they can't sustain it.  it's only  a matter of time before they wreck it (again).  this time, it will be a worse atrocity because they should have learned.

Sorry, but I understand that you are mad, but seriously we really have no clue what is going on with recruiting and you just make yourself look like a dumbass. Congrats.

Really?

What would our win/loss record be without Arthur Brown (five star), Chris Harper (four star), Adam Davis (four star), and Tyler Locket (chose us over KU) for example?  I mean, we wanted those guys, and so did KU.  What if we had lost them?

Would our other players simply have "stepped up" and been just as good?

What if games, really. We lose kids we are "recruiting" all the time to ku and other than the Mangino years we still kicked there buts. Could Weis be different? maybe but until that happens I don't let 18/20 year olds dictate my mood.

It’s not just losing kids to ku, it’s losing them in conference.  When you lose kids you want in conference it’s like two strikes against you – it’s a negative for you and a positive for another.  Just think about OSU without Zac Robinson?  Does Gundy get that off the ground w/out him?  Think about if we got Randle instead of Robinson (again another example of – “we’re fine with Robinson, he wanted to be here, blah, blah, blah”).

The short of it is that we wanted them and lost out on them.  When you want a player, especially at a position of need, and you lose out to them, that’s a bad thing.  Doing that over and over again is extremely bad, doing that over and over again to a program that hasn’t won a conference game in like 3 years is awful, and doing that over and over again after you’ve won a Big 12 title is…well…something we’ve already done with this staff.

So. Sad you worry about this. It may be the end of K-State football but no reason to worry about it. Like I said, your a dumbass if you worry about it.

It's our staff's fault for what exactly. We give him our pitch, ku gives theirs and he choices ku for some stupid reason we don't know. Why be a rough ridin' dumbass about it.

Have you seen the interviews/press conferences Snyder does?  Im sure it's good for the parents, but I'll bet Charlie sells his infinitely better.

You are the only one who has made a personal comment about the kid not choosing K-State. Everyone else is mad at our coaching staff who is too incompetent to convince a kid to come play for the Big 12 champs instead of playing for a program that hasn't won a game in the Big 12 for the second season in a row. It's pathetic.

You mean K-State's highest ranked rivals class ever. That helped.

It wasn’t just one class that wrecked a championship program.  It was multiple classes which, regardless of their ranking, proved to be awful – which means that either (a) bill isn’t good at evaluating recruits (which includes those recruits actually showing up to campus) or (b) he can’t develop them.  You simply can’t have it both ways – you can’t say all bill does is take coal and turn it into diamonds and then talk about having the highest rated class.  The truth is that recruiting (however you want to define it) began to fall off because the assistants we brought in here weren’t as good as who they were replacing.  And this core staff are the ones who were responsible for whiffing on so many guys OR not developing the guys they got that they turned a program that had won 10+ more games for like 9 out of 10 years and a conference champion to the last place team in an AWFUL big 12 north two consecutive years.  We went from having Terry Pierce back up Ben Leber to Matt Butler backing up Ted Sims.

I’ve not mentioned stars (though I believe they are relevant) – it’s more about getting the guys you want.  We just lost guys we wanted – that is not a good thing – because if Bill is the BITB as coal into diamonds then we lost a whole lot of diamonds.

yeah but who was the coach he was beating the crap out of?  That is the main thing and always will be.  I guess you can point to the one time we lost to them in 2004 but what about the 15 or so other times that we beat the crap out of them?  They have always beat us for a certain number of recruits and probably always will.   When Snyder retires I'll start worrying about it.

Jeff Luc  :curse:

Thank god in June we were still keeping a spot for Marquez Clark, who stopped going to class in April and never told anyone.  By the way, that one class didn't end until June and it was the class he needed to pass to get eligible.  Good thing our staff never picked up the phone or followed up to make sure he hadn't basically dropped out of school for 2 months.

I still can't believe our staff couldn't find ONE scholarship for this guy. JFC

Actually that class was so full of no shows and non factors that it was. Really look up and down that class and I bet you can't name more than 5 starters.

I’ll save the idiots the post:

Hey, I’m not saying Combs was a loss, but I’ve been watching film and Delva is just better.  I think the staff wanted Delva more than Combs.  Combs was just a luxury.  Just like all the recruits that go somewhere else.  All those kids that go other places were obviously second on Bill’s list.  Who could pass up the opportunity to be coached by a legend?  Probably just kids that are selfish.  We don’t want those kids anyway.
