well i sir did not care for it, on the premise that these "rankings" are based off of rivals numbers. which is contradictory as to why we are all over here in the first place, that reason is rivals doesnt know crap and their "talent" scouts dont know crap either

The popular thing to do here is dismiss airballing on Combs, and I fully get that.

But, it really does take a special kind of fail for a Big XII Champion to go head to head for an impact player with 50 scholarship offers against an in-state program that hasn't won a conference game in three years, and lose out.

This.  We wanted him and lost.  So Bill was either an idiot for wanting a “crappy player that would go to KU” or Bill and his staff are awful recruiters.  FYI, it’s the latter.  We are losing 9 starters from defense and have had a .500 or better season for the past 4 years, won 10+ games the past two seasons, just won a big 12 title….and still this staff can’t recruit. 

This is exactly what happened the first time.  EXACTLY.  Right down to ksu fans dismissing the losses.  “Oh, Mangino won’t be able to coach them, oh we beat them 64-0, they've been crappy for a long time now they'll just continue to be crappy, oh we didn’t really need ‘player x’ that much anyway”.  It’s absurd the lengths people will go to avoid how awful our recruiting is.

i think we should save the meltdown for when the entire class has been signed. as it stands, we still have 10+ spots to fill in this class and bill always pulls something out of his ass in january.

What would our win/loss record be without Arthur Brown (five star), Chris Harper (four star), Adam Davis (four star), and Tyler Locket (chose us over KU) for example?  I mean, we wanted those guys, and so did KU.  What if we had lost them?

Would our other players simply have "stepped up" and been just as good?

how did they build it?

Highly rated transfers were a big part of it this time (Brown and Harper).  We haven't got another one of those in 3 years.  Please tell me where the next Big12 Defensive Player of the Year is on our roster or recruiting class.

I'm not nearly as concerned as some others and I think we'll be fine, but I have a very hard time believing we'll be able to sustain finishing in the top 2 in the Big12.

What if games, really. We lose kids we are "recruiting" all the time to ku and other than the Mangino years we still kicked there buts. Could Weis be different? maybe but until that happens I don't let 18/20 year olds dictate my mood.

Thank god in June we were still keeping a spot for Marquez Clark, who stopped going to class in April and never told anyone.  By the way, that one class didn't end until June and it was the class he needed to pass to get eligible.  Good thing our staff never picked up the phone or followed up to make sure he hadn't basically dropped out of school for 2 months.
