I wish I could be a fly in the room when someone tells him he only has 2 years left to play. That would be awesome.

I'd kill for a top forty recruiting class this year. That would practically guarantee a top ten team next year.

Weren't some of the rosters on the 04 & 05 teams composed of recruiting classes ranked in the top 40?  :dunno:

I'm chalking those years up to Snyds being burned out and not bad recruits.

I'm good with that.

From 2002 - 2005 only 38% of the kids that signed stayed or made it to campus at all. From 2006 - 2008 it was 54%.
Currently, and I understand that some kids may still leave the program for some reason or another; 2009 - 2012 is at 71% of kids that signed are still on the team.

What do you mean by "stayed"? Do you mean played at least one season or do you mean they never transferred?

Jeff and Matt should bench his ass for the rest of the season

He seems kind of dumb, but that's just me.  We can smell our own.

OK. If you were counting all transfers, then your numbers were not really applicable as there was a coach change during the first two series of years you listed.

That's why they were grouped that way... What's your point? It still shows that there were a lot of kids that did not qualify those early years in 2002 - 2005. Granted you had kids leave when Prince showed up, I get that. It still does not account for retaining or getting kids to campus at less than 40% success rate in the first series. Are you saying that is normal? IDK

It would appear he was in Norman when we stuck it to the Sooners. That couldn't have hurt our chances.

Watching the game on tv...i was really impressed with the crowd and overall atmosphere at the game. it sounded pretty loud. I know we had Toby Johnson and Isaiah Williams there as visitors..I wonder if there was anyone else?...hopefully we're just continuing to stockpile all of our visitors for the CTR game....which will easily be the biggest Saturday of my life  :crossfingers:

Thought you guys might enjoy this.

Toby Johnson (Hutchinson, Kan./Hutchinson Community College) has made several trips to Manhattan, Kan., but before Saturday, the standout junior college defensive tackle admitted he'd never been to Kansas State for a football game.

Johnson, a 6-foot-4, 305-pound prospect with multiple offers, said he enjoyed being a part of the 50,781 in attendance at LHC Bill Snyder Stadium. He watched the Wildcats beat Oklahoma State 44-30, stay undefeated through nine games and, most importantly, keep its shot at playing for a BCS national title alive.

“It was a real good experience. It kind of surprised me for a minute,” said Johnson, who has a Kansas State offer. “I didn’t think it would be jumping like that. There were 50,000 fans going crazy.”

Johnson made the two-hour trip from Hutchinson to Manhattan with teammates, fellow sophomores and top recruits in receiver Jatavius Stewart and offensive tackle Devonte Danzey. Stewart has offers from Kansas State, Tennessee, Georgia and Oklahoma State, among others. Danzey doesn’t have a Kansas State offer, but he is getting a look from the Wildcats. He has offers from West Virginia, Texas Tech, Kansas and others.

“I had lost contact with [Kansas State], but I called them up,” Johnson said. “I let them know we wanted to make the trip out. It was a good time.”

Johnson, a mainstay for a Hutchinson team ranked No. 16 in the latest NJCAA poll, said he could see himself potentially playing for Kansas State, and his recruiting process is far from over. Originally from College Park, Ga., Johnson has additional offers from Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC and Nebraska, among other programs. Georgia and Tennessee are two schools high on his list so far.

The kid is from Georgia. He could play at any school he wants. Do you really think we could get a commitment?

He just wants to get out of Hutch for a weekend.
