So until it's actually proven on the field in a few year that "Trace Clark isn't that good" .  . . we'll just run with "K-State didn't want him".

Strange . . . when some no name kid being recruited by Middle Tennessee State or Northern Iowa commits to K-State he's an underrated diamond in the rough, when a kid doesn't commit to k-State they really aren't that good.

It's a tuck world.

we only go after guaranteed in state talent like tate snyder.

VERY nice
We are K-State and we love to hire SHlTTY coaches.

Strange, but didn't KSU go 10-2 with those so called DITR's.  :gocho:

Continue to believe that K-State will perpetually be able to scratch out games that go down to the wire.

Continue to try and belittle the success of the team and give excuses about how Snyder will never be able to realize success again.

Has anyone brought up the fact that Synder gets the type of players that fit his system.  And I'm not talking about the buy in tuck bullshit; but players that can help the team win with the position skills needed to win games.  Maybe that's why were're 10-2..

Here's the thing with Snyder.  What he's not so good at is getting big time, impact recruits that will allow us to climb up the rankings (even though they do go after them).  What he is good at is finding players further down the board that will still get the job done for the role he's looking for.  Every once in a while, those players will vastly exceed expectations (Lockett, Sproles, Nelson), but at a minimum, they will most likely be a serviceable player.

His problem at the end of Snyder I was that he wasn't getting kids to qualify, or he wasn't expanding the board far enough to account for the whiffs that his last staff (much worse than this one on the recruiting trail) would throw out there.  Now, he's actually casting a wide net and filling his classes with D1 athletes.  They may not be great players out of the box, but they're at least D1 athletes.  The current S&C coach is also a big upgrade over Rod Cole circa 2004/2005.  So, these D1 kids are actually looking like D1 athletes.

So saying that it's unlikely that K-State can continue to live on the edge forever is belittling the current team?

Yes, you're clearly attempting (once again) take some of the luster off of the season by characterizing it as somehow lucky.

So talking about what might happen in the future is characterizing the past season as lucky?

Then per usual, you can't help but go into butthurt mode, completely incapable of handling or tolerating what you perceive as criticism of K-State.

Dax and others of his ilk on this board are like doomsday prophesiers. They tell everyone they should be worried for the future and they predict total collapse of the system.  Then when it doesn't come when they predict it will (Snyder 2.0), they just keep pushing the date back...instead of admitting they may have been wrong like normal people do.  Eventually they're either right or they die.

I actually find them pretty entertaining.  Don't ever change, sodj.

If butthurt had a face, it would look exactly like Dax.  Poor bastard spends half his life trying to belittle the very athletic program he swears he loves.  Just out of curiousity Dax-  Which hurt more, the AD telling you that you were no longer welcome as a fan or Snyder 2.0 going 10-2?  I mean yeah, you looked like a complete idiot both times but, on a scale of 1-10, which caused you more mental and physical pain?  I bet it's 2.0.

jtuck all angered up as usual, it doesn't take much.

Only a jtuck type could possibly take a comment aimed at future K-State teams and apply it to past seasons.

Fantastic work Marty McFly.

Recruiting info would be excellent.  We need some more of that on here instead of writers following recruiting making up stories about why all the good recruits are going to other schools.

For someone who threw for 3,270 yards, 37 touchdowns and completed better than 70 percent of his passes, junior signal-caller Devante Kincade (Dallas/Skyline) is still something of an unknown in the realm of elite quarterbacks nationwide.

Part of the reason is because the 6-foot, 175-pound junior is still learning the position. Another reason could be because Kincade wasn’t a featured player at a major national quarterback camp over the summer. He participated in a few camps and also balanced his time playing AAU basketball.

Only recently have schools taken a good look at him, and late last week, Kincade picked up his first offer from Kansas State. Kincade said receivers coach Michael Smith has been his primary recruiter.

“Kansas State came to my school last week, and they told me they’d been looking at my film and liked what I’m doing,” Kincade said. “[Smith] said I could play any position, but I told them I’m going to college to play quarterback. He said that was fine with him.

“The whole thing made me feel relieved. My coaches are always telling me that the offers will come and that I’ve got more coming, but I just have to wait and see. Until then, I just have to do what I do.”

California, Baylor and Oregon have expressed heavy interest in Kincade. He also has heard from Clemson and Texas. Kincade led Skyline to a 14-1 record and a spot in the Fab 50. Skyline at one time was ranked as high as No. 8 in the country.
