Quote
Athlete Kylan Johnson (Dallas/Skyline) picked up a Florida offer Friday morning, officially visited Florida this weekend and just committed to the Gators.

"I just called (Florida linebackers) coach (Randy) Shannon and committed," Johnson said. "He's sending the papers now (for signing day)."

Johnson was previously committed to Kansas State.

"I felt Florida was way better than Kansas State," Johnson said. "They are giving me the opportunity to show I can play. I'm going to play safety for Florida but also may return kicks and play some wildcat quarterback."

Johnson said Shannon reached out to his high school coach Friday morning with the offer and they immediately set up the official visit.

"Coach Shannon just wanted to know if I was still open and I told him I was," Johnson said. "It's a better opportunity for me."

It isn't signing day season if we aren't getting big pieces from our class poached before pen gets to paper!

So he got an offer and set up a visit, friday, immediately after he committed.  Essentially, he was Florida's plan x, they told him anything he'd want to hear and actually presented a recruiting pitch .  Basically everything we wont do because morals and ethica.

It is a great pitch if you are rough ridin' idiot. Just lied to his face and he was excited about it. O well. Having two flips isn't terrible.

I think he wont be as good as Barry, and i think our plan c will be an even bigger drop. My prediction is plan C will be a high character gym rat who will not be supplanted by a juco guy who has way more talent, yet still get completely exposed when playing againat anyone athletic, but we'll replace him after he digs our grave.  Like Davis/Schellenberg this year.

My how the Mighty have fallen, SEC Florida can not fill out a class without poaching from the WRSOAT.

It's possible Jackson canceled his KU visit when Johnson went to Florida, we saw the writing on the wall, and we made a commitment to Darreon.

This may not be a surprise to our coaches is all I'm saying.

I'm not really mad at Johnson. We slow played him for months and offered after Barry bolted.

I'm pretty sure Barry was being recruited as a hybrid LB/S. That's why his backup was Johnson, and I'm  guessing Jackson was plan C.

The reason why K-State is so attractive to walk-ons is because they'll be trying to beat out guys who only had offers from Cornell and Texas State.

So, I guess we've got that going for us.   Tuck City will fist pump with pride as the stories of those hard workin walk-ons winning starting jobs keep spewing forth.

That's it in a nut shell.  Snyder and his staff coach the crap out of the guys they get, but you can only get so much talent out of low star/ walk-on kids.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

Johnson and Barry had offers at the same time, I think our staff had them on the same level.
