our fans love to count greyshirts twice in an attempt to validate our recruiting classes.

Not trying to count twice, just saying you have to pick one or the other.

I know, I was saying our fans like to pick both. mostly on GPC. they've been doing that for years.

I will say this...

If this staff gets Delva, Combs, Hardison, and Nash I'll say it was an amazing class.  That is TREMENDOUS depth to add to the line.

If they all qualify, of course.

I think we're definitely in line to have a very good class (for us).

I am far more concerned about the defensive side of the ball so I will cover that first.

DE - we have two solid DE commits from the HS ranks at the moment in Wood and Willis.  We may yet add Boyd.  Whether he is a jc placement or not that would be a very good signing class from the high school ranks.  I am not sure what our chances are with landing Hardison but it doesn't hurt he took an unofficial visit for the Texas game and came away very impressed.  Plus, he returns for an official visit on the 14th.  One would have to say there exists a chance and we're in his top 5.  The other would be Nash.  It's between KSU and OSU for him.  We've been on him longer and he has a good relationship with the coaches.  All of the Gundy speculation of looking around might not help their cause.

DT - We should get Akinola at semester.  I believe we'll get one, if not both, of Combs and Delva.  Plus, there is a 3x3 6'3 320lb December grad at Hutch named Rob Zimmerman.  He's been a long time aTm commit but they dropped him.  I am unsure why they dropped him but he did get injured prior to the season and didn't play in '12.  But he is a possibility.

LB - I think we have an excellent shot at Ramirez.  You have to like our shot given the dumpster fire down in Columbia.  He could be added to Isaiah Williams as the two HS signees.  I think we'll get two solid juco LBs from the kids visiting.

CB - we have Cre Moore committed and Dec. grad Riyahd Jones appears to be a definite possibility.  Jones visits on the 14th.  The other would be Nate Willis and Nate Jackson.  Jackson is a december grad and we appear to be way out in front.  Willis is likely the most talented of the three and we get his last visit in late January.  GPC has stated we do have a defensive player visiting who is currently committed elsewhere.  My guess is that it is either Harding (Ark commit-safety), Chandler (Tech commit-corner), or Morrow (OSU commit-corner).  I would be extremely happy to land either Chandler or Morrow.
Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere it was Harding.

the only hesitation i would have in saying it was harding is that GPC writer published a few weeks back that he may visit.  that was the last i've heard of it.  that wouldn't make it a secret at this point.

Impressive. Physical & plays the ball well. He looks like he'd be the best athlete we've had a corner in a while. Personally, Jones is in my priority list with the 4 DL.

While getting Jones would be amazing, you are dreaming if you think it will happen.

The worse our team recruits, the better we do.
