Maybe the know Sharp is gone anyway and this isn't about Sharp.  Maybe they are concerned he's not the only one thinking about visiting somewhere else, only those others aren't as sure of a thing to switch.  Sacrifice something you think you've already lost to send a message to other in case they are a flip risk.

Seriously.  When dealing in human trafficking, you should never limit the options for the consumer lest you miss on a sale.

Aaron Sharp's Mom

I actually don't have any business on this forum but after my brother brought this to my intention, I feel I really wanted to say some things.....
Aaron just received the offer from Ucla and wanted to see was he indeed interested in the school. When Aaron committed to K state, he was never told not to take visits or anything of that sort. Aaron contacted the coaches about taking a visit to Ucla, and they simply told him his scholarship was in jeopardy if he take the trip. Myself and his Dad really likes K state and wanted him there...Aaron never said he didn't like K state, he just felt like he wanted to visit Ucla to compare the two schools...Just because it's Ucla doesn't mean he was going to accept it, because us as parents definetly instill in our kids to look for #1 Education....and that is what the ultimate goal is....Ucla is a great academic school, but K state is a great one as well.....as his mother I love K state for him! But he has to make this decision he will live with the next 4 or 5 years....Aaron enjoyed his visit at K state and really like the program and the incoming 2014 class

it's a tough spot for the staff to be in, from a perception perspective. if aaron tells them he's going to visit ucla and they tell him that they're going to pull the offer or whatever, they come across as hostile and insecure. if they just say "well, have fun in LA!" then he may get the impression that we don't care whether he stays or goes.

IMO, they staff bluffed to see if he'd re-think the trip. he's calling their bluff. we won't pull the scholly but we will be looking at other QBs now.
