Pulling Sharp's scholarship is bad for a ton of reasons. MIR mentioned a lot of reasons why earlier in the thread, but if you look at it from a purely strategic, non-ethical standpoint, UCLA is trying to get a 4-star QB to look at them, so Sharp's offer may be contingent based on that kid. Washington probably isn't a slam dunk, either, if his Mom gets into his ear. In terms of distance, UW is probably about as humanly far away from Houston than just about anywhere else in the continental US.
I mean, I get it if we have limited scholarships and the coaches are hell bent on taking a QB in 2014. But we aren't going to get a QB of equal value in this class. We have the walk-on from Texas. It's probably best to just take him as a preferred walk-on and not hurt the scholarship count for 2014 and then get a prep and JUCO in 2015. That's probably the best option at this point if Sharp moves on.
If we get Delton or Willis in 2015, we're probably in pretty good shape as far as underclassman QB's go. Sams is most likely going to start in 2015. The hope would have been for Ertz and Sharp to duke it out in 2016, but now it's probably going to be Ertz/JUCO/2015 Prep recruit.
