I could get on board with this but he's with them through 2017.

He got a year added to his contract, but his buyout is still only $500K.

Then I'm on board.

Could go to the midnight madness thing (he brings it back!) with signs that say "Hey Josh, it's Pastner bedtime!" (because of how young he looks, ya know).

Just think of all the connects:

Michael Beasley (KSU Legend) besties with Nolan Smith who went where? You guessed it.
Lebron James tweeted during KSU Yankee bowl that we got hosed. Where would Lebron have gone to college? You guessed it.
Coach K (insiders say that he created the name as an homage to his favorite university). Coach K-State, anybody?
Whose the director of the Beach Museum of Art in MHK? You got it, Linda Duke.

Loves it!

Yeah, contracts are meaningless.  Is there any way someone could 'shop Pastner's head onto Pearl's shirtless, painted body?  I'm needing some coach search pr0n to make it through the day.

Spoke to someone close to New Mexico basketball who says they have not fielded any calls about interest in Steve Alford.

Tad Boyle is a slow-riser, not one of those Frank Martin types who goes all super-nova in the first couple years and blows his load too early. Boyle IS long-term success.

k-state needs a splashy hire. hiring a gritty, happy-to-be-here coach who will have to build his reputation locally and statewide through word of mouth isn't going to cut it. not when your school is located in the most townie town in the country where people think dillon's is a better grocery store alternative to YOUR manhattan hy-vee.

wojo is coach k's favorite player of all time. will coach k still get all the mcdonald's all-americans? yes. but rest assured that wojo will get all his sloppy seconds, sloppy seconds who just so happen to be 4-star guys with HBBIQ.

not to mention, wojo will be able to put together an all-star staff that will include trajon langdon, elton brand, etc.

#openthedoor to #slapthefloor and embrace wojo

when did j rake become a top5 poster here?

When his only competition came from Steve Dave, LSOC, CNS, etc.  :dunno:

While I am pretty meh about Boyle, you have to admit they pretty much got hosed (and we laughed) last year on the NCAA tourney.

I'll take Boyle over Jank, Alford and many of the other respects mentioned.

SD PUT HIM ON THE LIST NOW

Quote
Amid a report that he's shown interest in SMU's coaching vacancy, Hall of Fame coach Larry Brown said Wednesday that he'd like to return to basketball in some form.

Brown told ESPN.com's Dana O'Neil that he has not been contacted by the Mustangs, but declined to answer whether he had reached out to the school. The Brown-SMU link was reported earlier by the Dallas Morning News.

"I'm not going to be politicking for a job right now," the 71-year-old Brown said. "I'd like to get back involved in the game in some capacity. Whether that's as a coach, assistant, running a team or just as a resource, I don't care."

Brown's last job was as coach of the Charlotte Bobcats, which ended in 2010, his seventh NBA job since leaving Kansas after winning the 1988 NCAA championship.

"Everyone has been calling me today," Brown told O'Neil on Wednesday. "I don't want people to be feeling sorry for me, like I'm looking for a job. I'd like to get back involved, yes, but I'm not sitting here politicking."

Brown won the NBA championship with Detroit in 2004. After leaving the Jayhawks, he also coached the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers, Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks.

SMU fired Matt Doherty March 13 after six seasons.

Would we get in trouble for coming to an agreement with Pearl and then having him direct traffic behind the scenes so his program is ready and waiting for him already warmed up and toasty like he likes it?

My issue is the Coach K tree hasn't exactly been great. Most successful guy is Brey at ND probably.
