There are two types of "wants to be here"...

1) Wants to be here because its a good job with good facilities and we pay them good money.

2) Wants to be here because its "home" or "its a good fit" or whatever.

We want the first option. Most of the time option 2 fails miserably.

Topeka C-J has a top 10 list of Frank replacements.

One of 'em is Kim Mulkey.

Link: http://cjonline.com/slideshow/potential-targets-k-state-coaching-search#slide=8

She has shown she can coach guys.  She took that young blossom that is Griner and turned her into a full fledged man.

Not sure what make me  :barf: more; TCJ actually putting her in the list or that Frank couldn't do this for Wally.

Capel would be awesome IMO. Great recruiter and he's been learning from the best at Duke

I don't want someone who wants to be here.

this is a great post

I'm sure Pearl would take the job if offered.  Does that count?  He is unemployed.

you think ksu is his dream job or he would stick it out to retirement?

I'm sure it's not his dream job...but also doesn't mean he wouldn't want to be here.  He needs to get back on his feet at some point.

Mississippi State Bulldogs

UPDATE: Our own Jason King reported yesterday that Valparaiso coach (and hero) Bryce Drew interviewed for the Mississippi State job on Monday in Atlanta. It may be too soon to call Drew the absolute favorite, however.

King also indicated that Kentucky assistant Kenny Payne is the other top candidate to replace longtime coach Rick Stansbury. Milwaukee coach Rob Jeter, a name that was linked to the job briefly on Monday night (thanks largely to Twitter), is "not expected to get the job" according to King.

---
According to this report yesterday by Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com, Murray State coach Steve Prohm is Mississippi State's primary target to fill its coaching vacancy.

"Prohm would be interested in the Mississippi State opening for at least two obvious reasons -- prestige and millions of dollars," wrote Parrish. "Combine those things with the fact that he grew up in Georgia and graduated from Alabama, and it's simple to see why the opportunity to coach in the SEC is intriguing. ..."

Along with Prohm, the Bulldogs also have reached out to Oral Roberts coach Scott Sutton, who interviewed for the Nebraska opening on Tuesday.

Oh, man. LOL at me for not reading the website.  :frown:

The dude included that part.

My question: How do you still go ahead with the website? No contact with recruits for two years plus baggage = can't hire.

Jankovich and Fox are natural fits
"Jankovich has strong ties to the region and was once a junior college coach. He nearly upset Creighton in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament. Fox will have Georgia relevant again here soon if he were to stay in Athens. The Wildcats won't replace the persona of Martin so they better get someone who is natural to the region.

 :barf:

will not happen. never even a consideration. ever. not since Schulz arrived.

He probably wants to stay at CU for obvious reasons, but not at his current salary.

He's probably looking for more money from CU.

I mean, really, when you're making, what, $700k-ish and someone comes to you with around $2 million per, you have no choice but to listen.  You would be absolutely brain dead not to.

However, if CU can only come up with about $1.2 or $1.3, and we still offer $2ish plus incentives, again, you have to think HARD.

Eff it.  Hire Unds.

I'm having 'roid rage like mood swings about Unds.

Me too. It's like, one day I wake up thinking Underwood would be an absolutely awful hire. The next day I think he'd be the worst hire ever. Y'know what I mean?
