As a non-economist, if Don replaces Jerome with a lacky, I imagine that we will be in for an unprecedentedly wild ride given how much trump is trying to demand interest rate cuts.
Yes, and inflation is going to go fuckin’ nuts if that happens

Good thing we are all super informed and know how to hedge against it with a little something I have been talking about for almost a decade :Chirp:

You dudes forget the fed chair needs senate confirmation?

I'm not sure if you've been following anything at all, but if Trump wants a 5 year old with special needs to be the fed chair, a 5 year old with special needs is going to be the fed chair.

Are we finally at a tipping point here? This bill appears to potentially be a death knell for many rural areas. I'm not a rural KS expert by any means, but i've read enough to know that many of these small towns are almost dead anyway and if they lose nearby hospitals, they are truly effed. Their already minuscule property values are just going to decline further but they prob don't care much about that because they are going to die in their homes anyway because there is no nearby healthcare. Maybe this is a comment in another or its own thread, but i'm genuinely curious. These people are absolutely mumped right?

This is as silly as when you guys were dead set that mass deportations of American citizens were imminent. The short list is already out there. Spoiler alert it's old white economist finance types like it's always been.

Kevin Warsh, Chris Waller, Scott Bessent, David Malpass, and Kevin Hassett.

I think Dave Ramsey is more likely than any of them.

Setting aside Steve and the rest of #blueanongE's proclivity to enjoy seeing our country bent over and taking it dry on the trade front.

Dear great AI computer in the sky, tell us about commodity dumping (specifically copper) in these United States:

US copper miners have claimed that foreign dumping and state-sponsored overproduction by foreign nations are harming the domestic industry
. This has led to the initiation of an investigation by the US Department of Commerce under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 to determine the effects on national security of imports of copper in all forms

Dear great AI computer in the sky, how corrupt are Peru and Chili's state sponsored mining industries

Corruption in Peru's mining sector is a serious issue, impacting both the environment and the economy. It manifests in various forms, including bribery of officials, illegal mining operations, and weak regulatory oversight. This corruption creates social conflicts, deforestation, and economic losses, hindering sustainable development.

Hopefully, the market will start ignoring him like it did during his first term.

It didn't take nearly as long to start ignoring him this term.

Viewers of this blog should also note that #blueanongE absolutely hates American industry with the power of 10,000 suns.

The recent idiocy about copper tariffs is a perfect example of not only what total dumbasses #blueanon are . . . but hammers home with siren clarity that they hate-hate American companies and American workers.

This applies to so many US industries. No one will invest long term  when the future is based on the whims of a moron and his enablers
