I think Currie has to have some type of common sense, and I'm sure he's heard enough from fans and donors to know what he needs to do. It seems that both sides will most likely benefit from waiting to see how the season plays out, more so Martin. If we beat UK in Allen, or in the Big XII tourny, then Marin could easily get more. Or if we get to the Elite 8, or the Final 4 as it seems more and more possible, then that would also benefit Martin. Currie can not try to argue that we're pressed for money right now, with ticket sales soaring compared to previous seasons. Also, now that Martin has been talking about how great of an environment Manhattan is for his children to grow up in, he HAS to have some attachment to the Little Apple.
Or maybe I'm just a hopeless idealist.
