if Frank doesn't have a contract signed by Tax Day, then by al means, break out the pitchforks and torches.  Until then, get over it.

You ever considered that since it appears a major sticking point is reported to be the practice facility, that the AD and Frank both need the continued success of this season to continue to drum up financial support to get it built?       You don't just get millions overnight...it takes months and months of coddling and handholding major donors to ensure they pledge.   Donors that maybe weren't sold on the idea last year are now on the bandwagon, but you've obviously never tried to fundraisie major cash if you think once someone's made up their mind to donate that they just open the checkbook.   Most have an egotistical side that must be stroked and placated until THEY write the check on their terms and timeline.

i don't think running currie out of town will be as satisfying as retaining martin/good bball.  so, i'm not all that concerned about how stupid our fanbase is.

Bob Krause would've already offered Frank a new contract . . . period, end of discussion.

Bob Krause also would've re-written the books 8 times, killed several people and buried them out in Colbert Hills, and robbed a couple of banks by now to get his Wildcat Victory Campaign going.

I blame all the dumb $hit Krause did completely on Wefald.

I'm 100% on board with this analysis

if you all really think the negotiations are at an impasse, they kindly explain how Frank benefits from continuing to publicly shoulder the blame for the lack of extension?

If Frank wanted to budge someone, a simple no comment would speak loudly.

As it is, the fanbase by and large sees 2 men who know it needs done, and the one who should be crying loudest that it's not is saying it's HIS fault.

I have no problem assuming Currie is an idiot.

Yeah, I've seen nothing to suggest otherwise.  On the other hand, I've had numerous people tell me he's a fracking Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

I'm calling it the Sneefer© syndrome.  Whereby stupid ksu fans honestly believe that because there is a title of authority by a person's name (be it Snyder or Wefald or whomever) that it automatically means that they can never be wrong, even when evdience suggests otherwise.

I mean, everyone sucked off Wefald...even when it was obvious that this motherf*cker was play monopoly with KSU athletics....everyone loved them some Weiser (short of the hog dog fiasco) even though that guy couldn't f'ing do anything with the football success we had besides build a goddamn baseball field...then everyone loved krause for no other reason than he was named by Wefald so of course you have to trust him...and lastly, everyone f'ing loves snyds, even though he hasn't been to a bowl game in his past three seasons.

what the hell has currie done besides sell $99 football tickets and give two head coaches of non-for-profit sports contract raises/extensions that would lead anyone to believe that he is any good at his job?

Answer: he has "AD" next to his name.

the irony of the entire situation is that if Krause and Weefer were still running the show, we'd have frank signed....prolly for like 10 million a year.

At least we know we'll never have a worse duo than Wefald and Krause. They were the biggest retards possible

Curry & Shultz will go down as the biggest retards in history if they botch this deal and Frank leaves after this season.

No question about it.

And I don't care how many Mikeyis4dcats and the rest of the Wabash Station retards that will try to deflect their culpability in this epic failure should it occur, these clowns will be riden out of town on a rail.

if you've heard Frank speak on it, he says he isn't worrying or working on it until after the season.   Get over it.

source/link please.  thanks

His focus is still on basketball, and until the season ends that won't change. Not even the opportunity to extend his current contract, which athletic director John Currie is working to do, can distract him.

"If there is anyone to blame with the whole contract thing right now it's me," Martin said. "I get so entrenched with my team and the next game that I don't put in the time I need to into my contract."

But he's confident a deal will be made.

i guess you can use Kellis Robinette as your source if that's how you want to portray yourself.  where's your source/link that quotes Frank as saying he doesn't want an extension til end of season.  thanks.

Third hand my brother's sisters cousin reports are meaningless....if they weren't we'd be cheering on Gary Patterson instead of Bill.

Correction:  we'd be cheering for Gary Patterson if Weefs and Snyder hadn't decided to screw us over and if Fitz would have put the interests of K-State fans ahead of the interests of his GoPowercat.com advertisements.  But that's not the Fitz way.

I don't disagree with you about the sales cycle for donors.  It's a bitch.

However, it seems to me that every day that is spent low-balling Frank now, is a day closer to Frank being offered an exceptionally better deal else where.....which would likely happen well before mid April.  This crap moves real quick after teams are done playing.

if he has a desire to remain at kstate, he maintains the longterm goodwill of the fans by appearing to not care about money/not be interested in other jobs.  eventually he'll either get a contract he likes here, or elsewhere, so he loses nothing by maintaining silence now.

no where did I say he said he doesn't want an extension until the end of the season, perhaps you should bone up on your reading skills

Frank has been very consistent in interviews he's given as reported by Meek, Kellis, and others that he is in no hurry and he is focused on the task at hand.

I actually have it on good authority that the deal was dead at Wefald's hands before the Fitz debacle, but it certainly didn't help.    I really wanted Patterson, I remember fist pumping to the radio that afternoon.

knowing this, and accepting, for the sake of argument, that martin would like to coach long-term at kstate if given a fair salary, i'm not sure how you can not be wracked with worry that currie will eff kstate fans over.

enjoying your circlejerk?

Frank has never said he wouldn't take one if offered.  Just that he's not worried about it or focusing on it during the season.   Pretty simple really.  I know you guys enjoy playing obtuse, but if you keep acting that way eventually you will become stupid.

Is Curry Wefald?   No.

Is Curry Krause?  No.

Curry is fairly unproven at this point.   He's done some fairly decent things with the program to help appease the fans this year, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until there is suffiecient PROOF otherwise.

I also think that he has his sights set on moving up and out of Manhattan, ASAP.  Currie isn't going to do anything that is going to tarnish that little financial flip chart that he walks around with.  By the time Currie lands his next gig, he hopes to have stabilized football to preserve the revenue stream and coasted along on basketball fumes long enough for it to appear viable.

The problem with that thought is that the sort of programs that would represent a signficant upward move from KSU are the sort that are swimming in cash and care about one and only one thing: winning.  Currie's failure to retain Frank at KSU would be a huge negative to those folks while his ability to do an athletic department on a shoestring budget would be wholly irrelevant.  Fans of place like Northeastern Central Western Bumfuck U. State (and Powertards of course) care about the latter, big time programs do not.

Fire Currie.   :opcat:
