I see you Nate  :eye:

Adidas Invitational: Breakout Performers

Nathan Hawkins
Size: 6-4/175 | NR
Quick Take: A good athlete who also can handle the basketball, Hawkins showed a lot of versatility to his game impressing coaches and onlookers. Hawkins has always been known as a big time shooter, and that was definitely evident, but it was his play at the point guard position for the Mustangs that was so impressive. He can defend multiple positions, and with his more refined game shining through look for more schools to make a big move with Hawkins by the end of the month.

Etherington looks small.  Just me?

Most reports have him at 6'6", some at 6'5", most scouts think he has a solid build and see him as a physical player.

If you need a bigger sample size, highlights linked below were 1st posted here about 10 days ago.

for some of you, the glass always looks half empty...to the realists on the board he looks like he's in radioactive  beast mode

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

I thought the same thing when watching the clips.  He seems shorter than 6'5", but hey, I'm not standing next to him with a tape measure.  Also, I think some of those clips are from his soph year of high school.

I guess he projects to a wing player?  Seems like a kid that won't get many minutes his first year or two, but may get a bunch (depending on who we recruit) in his Jr and Sr years?  He appears to have a nice shot off the dribble and set.  Maybe he could be a big two*?

* I'm not familiar exactly with how Weber wants to run the offense yet, but based on Illinois games I watched in the past, he likes running a crap ton of wings out there at any given time, so Etherington could play the 2 or 3 in Weber's motion.  But, again, I'm not intimately familiar with what he's going to want to do yet.

Yes and yes.

Projected as playing the 3 or 2 =wing.

Not immediately. From all the reports I've read he would need to improve his handle, passing, and court awareness for that happen. Lateral quickness might also be a concern attempting to guard opposing 2's.

Wouldn't say it's completely impossible for him to see some time there in a few years, but as far as him being a full-time, starting 2 at any time, there is very little chance of that, IMO.

Thank you Mr. Bossi:

"One of the most heavily watched guys of the night was Sam Singer. Playing for Gulf Coast, the three-star combo guard drew head coaches from Kansas State, N.C. State and Texas A&M to go along with a litany of high-major assistants.

Probably closer to 6-foot-3 than his listed 6-foot-5, Singer is a sound guard from Miami (Fla.) Ransom Everglades and has some upper-body strength. A very good passer in the open floor who advances the ball 20, 30 and 40 feet up the floor, he certainly shares the sugar. His jumper was a bit spotty but he showed confidence in it and he isn't a risky ball handler.

Is he a one, a two or a combo guard in college offenses? That's what coaches are trying to figure out. Among the other offers mentioned by Singer were Nebraska, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Oklahoma State and Boston College. "

"Demetrius Henry of Team Breakdown is a thin and mobile big man with some bounce in the lane. At about 6-feet-9, the 2013 reclass also has touch on his jumper and can play facing the rim a bit. Where he's at his best, though, is when he gets into the lane and uses his length and athleticism to disrupt things around the rim. In addition to scoring the ball, he swatted some shots and got on the glass."

I just like Foster a lot.  There have been rumblings that he'll be a 150 kid, so if would be a good grab.

Snow from the Peach Jam:

"Damian Jones, PF/C, Texas Titans – While (Julius)Randle was dominating on the offensive end, Jones was doing on defense. The long and athletic interior prospect was blocking shots and in general causing havoc with his length and athleticism. Offensively he is still very raw, but Jones can develop into a game changer with his natural shot blocking."
