Ishmail Wainright Still claiming an offer.
Quote
He officially has offers from Syracuse, Texas, Florida, NC State, Arizona, Marquette, UCLA, St. John's, Kansas, Villanova, Georgetown, Baylor, Texas A&M, Duke, Florida State, Tulsa, Missouri, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Louisville, Minnesota, Alabama, Seton Hall, Providence, Arkansas and South Florida. Heading into the spring the majority of these schools were interested, however Wainright's emergence on the Nike EYBL scene - as well as his unusual, bulky body - has made him a hot commodity.

http://recruitscoop.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1363122

Is this an old offer from frank?

I'm too tired to try and dig it up, but I'm pretty sure that Bossi said something about Weber hitting up KC shortly after he got here, and he met with Semi, Wainright, and that kid at Lee's Summit North.

Bossi said Weber was going to make Wainright a priority. Now obviously a lot of other schools have also done that. The thing with Wainright is that he is not completely tied into KC right now.  He played at Montrose Christian in the DC area this past season and I believe the plan is for him to finish his HS career there. He's also playing AAU ball with the DC based Team Takeover. I do believe his family is back in KC, I know his younger brother Ahmad played at Hogan Prep in KC this past year. I just don't know strong the "local" pull would be with this kid, I guess we'll see where it goes from here.

My sources tell me he will go to Tulsa along with Shaquille Harrison, Broderick Newbill and Martez Harrison.  All KC recruits and AAU (KC 76ers) teammates (excluding Shaquille Harrison.)

Another offer to a DFW kid, Brandon Parrish 6'5" 185 wing from Arlington. 3* NR. Other current offers from Rice, Tulane, and Oregon St. Update was from Colorado site, sounds like he's high on them along with Arkansas too.

Runs AAU with Urban DFW, same club as Kendal Harris, hope somebody on our staff is good buds with Jazzy Hartwell.

By my count, we're running about 2:1 offer to opening ratio for '13. I imagine that's a good thing. Didn't really see this latest 1 coming as I didn't really expect the new staff to try to hit the NE too hard, but, hey whatever(hopefully) works.

Kansas State has offered Curtis forward Hassan Martin, he said, joining Iowa State, Creighton, Fordham and Rhode Island.

Providence also offered Martin recently. More stuff on him below:

http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/high_school/basketball/curtis_hammers_msit_often_junior_BznVgwCEeuWIW5Kx7qPWiI

From Daniels 4/12:
"Hassan Martin, PF, New Heights – Prior to the event, information was swirling around Martin, a 6-foot-6 four-man. Once I laid eyes on him I realized why. Although he’s undersized, Martin is an active dude that makes an effort to go to the glass. Using his athleticism and ability to get off the ground quickly, he’s able to reel in offensive rebounds and turn them into points. Martin also dropped in a 15-foot jump shot in a game against Maryland’s Finest.

UW I am really counting on you to let me know when I should begin my own campaign of butthurt in regards to basketball recruiting.

So far I am in Switzerland mode, but I feel a stirring in the epidermal regions of my posterior.

LOL, objectivity is a tough thing to find in these times of upheaval, I sure as hell don't have it.

As has been a tuck stronghold early on, you can't really judge anything off our efforts in the Class of '12, just too late of a start to make any sort of impact especially without a package deal. Unless you start running off players to bring in players who scream average ability and potentail(see: Orris). I guess it's alright to have a solid character role player like him on your roster. It's probably not fair to pass final judgment on 1 roster move in a scrambled situation.

It's going to be really important to establish good relationships with all the recent mentions in '13 and '14. Rigth now, it's looking like 4 to give for '13, 3 for '14. Would love to see at least 1 impact guy for '13. (Harris - maybe offering Parrish will help there, Semi - just hope for the best there, I kinda like what I've seen so far from Foster).

I like that we're apparently aiming high for '14. IMO, It might have been a little early to offer Pick n Pop Cimino, but if he we get some playmakers around him, then yes possibly good "fit".

Even if '13 sucks, I'll still be holding out hope for '14. IMO, everybody should have a pretty good idea of how this staff recruits and how much success this staff can have by November 2013.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/kansasstate/basketball/recruiting/player-Karrington-Ward-140617

According to Cassidy's update, Ward plans to visit KSU in late June. In addition to the offers listed on his profile, he's also recently picked up offers from Wichita St, Depaul, and Valpo. Stats from his FR yr at Kankakee linked below, team went 26-6. Ward was 1 of 3 FR to be named 1st team All-American in NJCAA(10 players total made the team). He's originally from Lockport, IL which is just outside of Chicago.

Well, the update says Weber and AB3 are recruiting him, so he's probably a kid that Weber was aware of when he was in HS. With AB3 having recently been at Bradley and with his roots in the JC ranks, I imagine there are some connections there at Kankakee.

Important to note no offer from KSU yet, will be interesting to see if the visit actually takes place, sometimes those unofficials fall through.

True. Seems like he'd be a good replacement for Rodney.

Losing Gruds is going to leave a huge void, no doubt about it. Asking this kid to come and do everything Gruds does would be asking a lot, but hey, if we can't land an impact HS kid, might as well try the JC ranks.

UW - can you please just start a website and put GoPo totally out of business? I mean, you're absolutely killing it. And can you imagine how great it would be to have all of Wallace's journalism butthurt directed at you? Oh man there really is no downside.

Since it seems we're trying to hit TX pretty hard, I thought the link below might be of some interest, I wouldn't call it 100% accurate(they misspelled Wes Westicles's name - poor kid, had wrong pic for him on profile and people can't spell his name), but I do think it's a pretty good outline of the overall AAU scene in TX.

There certainly hasn't been a shortage of info on Ojeleye this spring, 2 reports from the same MOKAN game pasted below.

Snow:
"Semi Ojeleye, SF, Mo-Kan Elite – Ojeleye continued his very strong spring with another impressive performance. He was at his best creating in the mid-range off of a few bounces, but also he hit some perimeter jumpers, and rebounded well. Ojeleye has excellent versatility to his game, and is clearly asserting himself as one of the better prospects in the class."

Indiana Rivals guy:
"2013 wing Semi Ojeleye scored a team-high 16 points but had a 5-for-16 shooting night, including 1-for-7 from 3-point range, as Mokan Elite fell to Houston Hoops 58-50."

#9 in red

His HS season ended abruptly when he tore a tendon in his finger. Sounds like he has rebounded nicely from the injury on the AAU circuit playing for New Heights, generating plenty of offers and interest, including from KSU.
