Kansas State has offered 2013 forward Alex Etherington - the brother of Indiana's Austin Etherington.

I hope we're ahead of the curve on this 1. Sounds like he had a rough injury during his SO yr of HS and has fully recovered from that.

man, underdog is a machine.  he just carries on like the change never happened, totally unfazed.

Pffft.

As long as K-State keeps running a hoops team out there on the floor, I'll be a crazed nut.

It's just the way I am.

Bossi from last weekend in Vegas.

Indiana Elite South teammate Alex Etherington looked good as well. The 6-foot-5 wing is an athletic driver who plays with physicality.

Some dude from Indy the weekend before last.

Alex Etherington:  6’6” Small Forward, Hamilton Heights H.S./Indiana Elite South (2013)

May have had about the best day of anyone that I saw.  Alex was very, very impressive.  He showcased great isolation skills, made some really nice drives to the basket.  His combination of size, strength, and athleticism makes him very difficult to stop.  Has reported new interest from the likes of Penn State and Boston College among others.  If he plays like he did today all summer, offers should roll in.

Sounds like Xavier has also recently contacted this kid, we'll see what happens with his recruitment from here.

New staff has picked up recruitment of 6'6" PF Marquis Pryor, Chicago Orr HS, runs with D-Rose All Stars in AAU now. Update is from Illinois site:

"I'm hearing from Kansas State, Colorado State, Illinois, DePaul, Loyola, Illinois State, and Oakland," Pryor said. "I met with Coach Groce and Coach Walker last week. Coach Goce is a real nice guy. He said he likes to play an up-tempo style so I would like to go to Illinois. That's a style that I like to play. "

http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1358823

"Stock Up • Class of 2013
Marquise Pryor, 6-6, PF, Chicago (Orr)
To be honest, Pryor's stock can't rise much higher than it already is in the eyes of the Hoops Report -- he's been among the top dozen prospects in the class for over a year and currently checks in at No. 10 -- but college coaches are now talking about the physical warrior who is arguably the best rebounder in the class. Pryor battled, competed and showcased his strengths in front of a big audience."

Random crap on Harris, averaged 12.8 pts, 5 rebs, and 5.5 asts per game on Berkner HS team that went 28-7. Sounds like he mostly played off the ball but those are some pretty solid assist #'s for playing a lot off the ball. Brother is Terrell Harris, who played at OK St a few years back and now playing for Miami Heat. It's kinda hazy as to whether or not OK St has offered Kendal right now. Missouri and Marquette have been recruiting him for awhile and it kinda sounds like they are his leaders. Lowery was spotted watching his Urban DFW team in Vegas last weekend(along with a horde of other coaches). Urban DFW has at least 2 other big time prospects(Karviar Shepherd and Jordan Mickey) and a couple others who might be high majors.

AAU Junk

jayhawk invitational no longer in Lawrence, they moved it to JOCO, KC Pump N Run now KC Run GMC.

http://gardnernews.com/high-school-prospects-to-hoop-it-up-at-new-century/

2nd session of Nike's EYBL in Hampton, VA this weekend. MOKAN went 3-1 last weekend in Minny. Looks likes Ojeleye rebounded well(8 per game, 5th overall) and knocked down his FT's, 19-21. Custer is leading the league in steals with 3 per game.

Full stats from the league at site pasted below, I believe they will be kept through the league's conclusion at the Peach Jam in July.

http://www.nikeeyb.com/eybl/standings

With this being the last live eval period until July, I bet there's a good chance Weber, Lowery, or even AB3 will be spotted in Hampton and various other locales where major tourneys are being held - Philly, Vegas, and KC* could be possibilities.

*Some dude on the Scout national board said that the jayhawk being held this weekend in KC hadn't gotten their paperwork in time and the NCAA didn't certify them and allow coaches to scout prospects live there. I have not seen any further verification of this.

Sounds like Semi is holding his own against some of the best on the circuit:

"MoKan Elite went down at the hands of the CIA Bounce, but Semi Ojeleye did everything in his power to prevent it. The powerfully built, 6-foot-6 wing from Ottawa (Kan.) High went unconscious from three-point land during the second half as he buried one long jumper after another. When he's set, he doesn't miss very often. On top of being an excellent set shooter, the No. 37 player in the class of 2013 shows a great understanding of how to use his ruggedly built frame in the lane where he continually finishes through contact."

http://kansasstate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1360151

He's considering visiting Indiana in June:

"Ojeleye said Duke is also now expressing interest. He has offers from Kansas State, Marquette, Missouri, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oklahoma State and Wisconsin."

XRM is a beast, haven't gotten much word that Weber and KSU are going to go all in for him(Illinois had offered w/Weber there, they were 1 of his favorites) and it would be a steep hill to climb, to call him heavily recruited would be massive understatement, but whatever dude can ball.

"Xavier Rathan-Mayes, SG, CIA Bounce – From a pure scoring standpoint there aren’t many prospects that can match Rathan-Mayes bucket for bucket. The Huntington (W.V.) Prep product has the ability to pump in points from all three levels and is capable of hitting shots under pressure. He’s improved his ability to create opportunities for himself and his shot from 15 to 22 feet is pure. Against MoKan, Rathan-Mayes had a stretch where he buried a pair of mid-range pull-ups then a deep three, all with a defender in his face."

"Xavier Rathan-Mayes - Sleeper of the tournament. Not similar to Doron Lamb, a carbon copy of Doron Lamb. Absolutely automatic from anywhere, one of top shooters in the country the moment he steps on college floor. Not a very good athlete, but a bit of pudge he can get rid of that could add some bounce. Fantastic court sense allows him to play some 1, a natural college combo guard. All sorts of stops/starts/fakes on the move, deadly moving off the ball as well. On court leader for CIA bounce. This guy will get his 5th star, count on it."

Tory Miller reporting offers from Arkansas, Creighton, Nebraska, and Colorado State:

“There are countless other schools who are recruiting me, but those are the three offers(now 4) at the moment. K-state I think is getting close, but I don't know, we will find out,” says the junior, who is also receiving interest from Missouri, Kansas, and Colorado among others. “Nobody is really standing out, it's anybody's game at this point."

"Tory Miller, PF/C, Kansas City Run GMC – The light bulb seems to be clicking on for Miller. He has always had impressive physical tools, and now that is turning into production. He has great strength, long arms, and good athleticism, now the fire is matching with that and he is doing a good job of controlling things down low and being a factor on both ends of the floor."

From the Xavier Rivals site:

"Alex Etherington - Indiana Elite 17u SF: High major coaches see Etherington as someone that could be a nice role player at the highest level or a really good, and instant impact, player at a good mid-major program. Over the weekend he played well enough that he should get more high major interest. Etherington is a very good slasher that can make plays off the dribble at 6-foot-6. He's got deceptive athleticism and explosiveness around the rim while having a strong build as well. His handle is good enough for him to play either guard spot, and he's really aggressive in trying to drive to the rim and draw fouls. Etherington is a good, not great, shooter who has a nice stroke from the line but doesn't seek out a ton of perimeter jumpers. Defensively he oozes toughness and is one of the more competitive players on the AAU circuit. Kansas State is recruiting him the hardest right now but Xavier is interested, as are several in-state high majors."
