"Kansas State, Wisconsin & Seton Hall spoke with Geno Thorpe, a 2013 PG from Shaler (PA), today. All three have offered."

Surely, a 'grats was offered to Geno for being ranked 135.

Database lists aren't always the most reliable(updates are better) but here's a new name(to me at least) 6'2" PG Isaiah Taylor, Norcal transplant, now in Houston:

"6-foot-2 2013 PG Isaiah Taylor (The Village - Missouri City, TX) - The Oakland transplant really helped himself this weekend. He has the quickness and ball skills to beat his man consistently. When in the lane his vision allows him to find teammates for easy buckets. Has very good defensive instincts. A sleeper in the city. High majors need to take a look."

http://kansasstate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1258862

"Another quick and fast player to mention is 2013 6’2 2G Isaiah Taylor. Isaiah just transferred from St. John’s HS in Oakland, CA. He will play at The Village School in Missouri, TX. This speedy ball handler gets to the basket well. He works hard on the defensive end and he plays with smarts. It looks like the Village School will be rocking and rolling this season with a good crop of young players and Shaquille Cleare who committed to Maryland a week ago."

Looks like Telep (or somebody on the ball) has since corrected that statement and indicated it's actually
Malcolm Hill(No Bey) that Martin is watching today. Hill is the 6'5" wing Class of '13 wing from S. Illinois that KSU has already offered. Would have been damn confusing if the KSU Cats were after both Malcolm Hill AND Malcolm Hill-Bey. Big sigh of relief for this guy.

FWIW, regarding Hill, the KSU Cats are apparently in decent but not great shape with him right now. KSU, Xavier, and Illinois are thought to be his top 3 but Illinois is the strong leader.

Last I read, Hill and a couple of his AAU teammates(SW IL Jets) were supposed to be visiting KSU sometime this month. Maybe weekend of Sep 17th? We'll just have to see.

New name, 5'11" 160 PG Rashawn Powell from Orlando/Dr Phillips HS. Just visited Miami and update linked below indicates he's also considering Texas, KSU, Seton Hall, and Tennessee. His AAU coach with the Showtime Ballers says Powell has 6 scolly offers but doesn't specify if the KSU Cats are 1 of them.

Well, that didn't take long, after a weekend unofficial to Illinois, M. Hill commits there.

Kinda random but just came across these highlight vids for Freeman. 1st one is from last HS season where he played for Olympic HS in Charlotte, NC. Next 1 is from Lebron James Skills Academy that took place this past summer. I sure hope his talked about visit to KSU this fall comes through.

Thorpe confirms visit to KSU on Oct 29, sounds like Evans recently dropped in to see him.

THORPE SET TO VISIT KANSAS STATE; SCHOOLS COMING BY SHALER

Geno Thorpe had an impressive summer playing with the NJ Playaz 16U squad on the AAU circuit. The athletic 6-foot-3, 175-pound guard had toyed with the idea of transferring from Shaler Area High School to a few different programs in New Jersey, but he is staying put this season and looking forward to a big season in front of friends and family.

“Just being around my family so they could always come see me play,” said Thorpe about what was the biggest factor in staying at Shaler for his junior season. “I’m looking forward to going to states and making a run and trying to win it all [this season].”

Like the Western Pennsylvania area, Shaler is not known as a big basketball producing hot spot. However several college coaches have already found their way to the Pittsburgh-area school, including assistants from Kansas State (Lamont Evans) and Penn State (Brian Daly) with assistants from Baylor (Jerome Tang) and Wisconsin (Lamont Paris) expected this week. One unofficial visit has already been scheduled to this point.

“October 29th to Kansas State,” said Thorpe when asked if any visits were set. “That’s all so far.”

Those four schools are certainly in the mix, along with three schools from what is currently the BIG EAST.

“Pitt (tickets), Rutgers (tickets), Seton Hall (tickets), Kansas State, Wisconsin, Baylor and Penn State,” said Thorpe of the schools he is currently actively considering.

Thorpe, who has been closely following the BIG EAST news of the past weekend as he has grown up a fan of the conference, says he currently has no leaders with the schools recruiting him.

“No favorites at this point [as] everyone is doing a great job recruiting me,” he said.
