jorgenson update.

"I'm a Kansas guy," he said. "Just growing up watching Kirk Hinrich and Nick Collison run the floor and play, I just love basketball and I love KU's style.

According to Jorgenson, he'll be in Columbia next weekend to see the Tigers take on the Oklahoma Sooners on the football field. Currently, he's received scholarship offers from Southern Illinois and Missouri State.

wainright update.

"Coach Self acts just like a friend," said Wainright. "He talks to me and treats me like I'm one of his players. He treats you like he would one of his players, and he's real cool. It's like he's my coach - that's the type of relationship we have right now.

"Coach Self is a great guy," he added. "You know, he's the type of coach that everybody likes to be around. When I'm around Coach Self, it's like I'm one of his players already, which is cool."

2013 combo guard Pat Birt from Plano, TX was good. Lefty has a nice-pullup J, is long and has some floor game.

Pat Birt, PG/SG- The skinny southpaw from Plano is a solid combo-guard who likes to attack off the dribble. He's got good size and really likes to use crossovers and between the leg dribbles to set-up pull-up jumpers. Shoots with range and can get others involved.

any reason he would play for mo-kan elite and not a texas aau team? I'm not sure if this gives us a better shot or if it means he couldn't get on a decent texas based aau team so he had to come North for less competition? just throwing out some lbbiq guesses here......   :dunno:

no idea why birt plays for mokan.  it's a great question, and i'd love find someone who can answer it.

mokan has produced a lot of high-major recruits over the last few years.  he could easily have found a dfw team where he could have had an easier route to playing time.

Are you going to KSU should come in there somewhere.

Freeman update from the North and South Carolina Battle of the Classes that took place last weekend.  Apparently, Undy going to watch him in person a couple days back was our 1st serious contact with him as we're not listed among schools recruiting him as of last weekend:

"Allerik Freeman (Olympic HS, NC) - True combo guard that can run the point or move to the 2-spot. Freeman has excellent vision, and also displayed his ability to step back and hit from deep. His physical build helps him match up well on the defensive end. College interest - Baylor, Clemson, Florida, Georgetown, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest."

The kid already knows he'll have to go to a juco and he's like a sophomore?  Poor, dumb bastard.  Did he already sign with Memphis?  I was thinking coaches weren't allow to talk about recruits...

UCLA coaches watched Ishmail Wainright '13, a 6'5 forward from Missouri, practice today. He's being recruited by about 15 high major schools.
