With all teams having played 8 games, there is clear separation between the Wednesdays and the Thursdays.  Can KSU still claw its way into a Wednesday slot?  It will be tough to unseat Baylor and ISU having already won in their respective homes.  Opportunities remain however to lose on the road to OSU and TCU.  The remaining home-and-away series with Texas also looms large.  Stay tuned.

We've touched on this before.  How long does it take to get back the money that would have to be spent to be elite at football?

For example, rather than debating Venables or Sean, could Dabo and Brent and that whole staff be had for like $15m-20m/year, while knowing that all that extra expense could be made back and then some through increased revenue eventually?

I have no idea, but I hear how the most elite of elite coaches still aren't getting paid what their market value is for what they bring in.  IF that's true, why not go for the existing BITBs?  Start reallocating whatever big-time donation money is currently allocated for stadium stuff towards buying coaches, and use the revenue that comes in to do the stadium stuff later.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / BeasleyPAK - March 2018

Me and maybe 1-2 seattle pak'rs are going to the knicks-blazers game tuesday 3/6.  Probably get to portland by monday late afternoon or early evening and pak w/JMart (and maybe Beasley?).  Do whatever adjace stuff portland has on tuesday and go to the game, leave early wednesday morning.  Anyone I like can meet us there or come to seattle and roll w/us.  Almost certainly flying between seattle and portland to save time; the flights might as well be free.  If time becomes a non-issue, there could be a rising-on-trains option.

Kansas State Football / Remind me of the Leavitt thing from 4-ish years ago
« on: December 09, 2017, 04:54:04 PM »
Wasn't it a thing that after he got canned from Tampa College, but before his rehab at Colorado, that Snyder wanted him as D-Coordinator here but Currie nixed it because of the Tampa stuff?

If I'm remembering that right, how do it get to where Currie would've been trying to install Leavitt here w/Snyder pushing back (albeit probably more about Sean's future than Leavitt himself)?

"I did not perform very well in front of Sean," McCrane recalled of that camp, which followed many others in a short span, thus the sore leg and errant kicks. "He said, 'Ignore that. I don't care if it goes in. I'm watching your technique.' That's when it kind of stuck out to me that at this place, special teams are of importance."

Now that we're probably all recovered, this thread is to help KK and I know what worked and what didn't and start having an idea of what to plan for 2018.

While it seems we make more money the less people are there (guilt from non-attendees, easier for us to work the crowd?), we still want FattyFest to be well-attended and something that gets prioritized on people's calendars well in advance.

Post your critiques and/or compliments here.

My own:

  • I liked having it now rather than middle of summer, both to escape the heat and it felt like there was more energy (?) having it when school's in session.
  • I'm not sure if adding the watch party was helpful.  It definitely made it harder to plan given the unknown game time until 12 days out, and most everyone was pak'd by evening and dropping out.
  • Would contemplate doing it in the spring, whether in conjunction with a known-time-in-advance lol #oscar game, or even in April after that's all done, but while school's still going.
  • If not with a watch party attached, is there something that would be good to replace it with a la concerts we've done in the past, or is it best to just plan on 4-5 hours of daytime hard pak'n as far as the official event goes?
  • I thought having lunch was good, but going back to the unknown timing, it made it hard to plan.  Perhaps better to get gangs of pizza shuttle and have it available all day?
  • Definitely want to get a more technologically advanced auction system, especially if we're going to have bidding from non-attendees.  There should still be some attendee-exclusive items.
  • Not that it should matter given that it's all for the Fatty Fund, but might look at discounting tickets purchased a certain amount of time in advance, so that we could better lock in attendance numbers early.

So post any thoughts, with them geared towards what you'd like to see that would make it most likely that we'd have people putting this on their calendars as a thing they're absolutely not missing, as opposed to something they'll go to if it works out at that time.  T-Y.

I know nothing about it or them.  Until today, I had the impression they were a twitter account that focused on drunk things happening at tailgates.

A secret stud benefactor has worked with us to supply at least 1, maybe more, free FattyFest tickets.  We'll keep this easy - post here why you deserve it.

If you already bought a ticket or absolutely would be buying a ticket, don't try to win this free one.  Unless you'd use the free one to bring along someone who otherwise definitely wouldn't go.  What I'm saying is don't be assholes and try to withhold $30-40 the Fund would otherwise have, you know?

Go!

Post or somehow send me the best-quality images that exist of the pak head logo w/o the gE references on it, a la :katpakhead: with or w/o "k-state" on its neck and what's on my jeep that I've somehow lost the image file for.  I know it/they exist in that people's heads still sometimes get pak-head'd.

We need you people who have a ton of time to go through the FattyFest threads on here or anywhere else and find good pics/videos from past events.  Good can be actually good photo quality or good in that they capture a pic of nicname and metalhead in full wrestling gear having a match in the street.

Please find and post links or the actual #content here.

Could also use the same of FFF himself, i.e. wabashing w/KK across a gym.

Yep, for 2 years.  Announcement in next 30 minutes or so.

Guess the "daily" thread doesn't really work if it concludes on Day 1, but whatever.

What's a good alternative to photobucket for quickly uploading photos, usually from phone, to something and being able to post them here?  I don't tapatalk.

Pretty sure we were looking for this picture not long ago on here.  Just found a blurry hard copy.  I think it's from when I was testing a new printer.

No, probably.

It's only 5 a.m. there.

Shout to Nick Russell.

For reasons probably only the King can explain, it's no longer a viable option to get those belts we've been using.  So there's going to be a real-ish traveling belt that gets passed on through the years to from winners to winners.

Planning to get it from this place: https://buildurbelt.com/product-category/belts/

Wanted this one because the not-custom stuff was the most basic, but it looks like they only have it in blue or red anymore: https://buildurbelt.com/product/world-champion/

So it'll probably be this one, which will be ironic as the 'ship is almost always disputed: https://buildurbelt.com/product/undisputed-champion/

We need to come up w/artwork for the little outer plates and the big middle plate.  Currently thinking pak heads for the little plates, but any ideas are welcome.  The big thing is we need a Fatty or FattyFest logo/image idea for the middle.

Submit ideas or better yet, the actual art here of PM/DM me if you're shy.  IMPORTANT - make sure any image or idea can work under these parameters:

4. What types of files do I need to send for best results for the custom graphic?

For the best results, a vector image is requested. You can send a high resolution pdf will also work. If the image you send is poor or blurry, it will be the same when it is printed. We can NOT increase the quality of poor images. We can create artwork for you for an additional art fee but it is not included in the belt price.

Lost in the wild excitement for kp30nt, is that the 'cats are again clawing for one of those 4 coveted "all eyes on us" slots on the Wednesday of the Big 12 Tournament.  As we know, even back when Wednesdays were accessible to 2/3 of the league, Frank was always unable to get us into those games with the specially-priced tickets for some of the best seats in the house.  Now, even in the era where just an exclusive 4 out of 10 teams qualify for the Wednesday session, KSU is amazingly once again back on track to earn such a bid.

Keep kp30nt at the forefront of you hopes and dreams, but save a little bit to root on the squad as they try to hold off TCU or the Cows from snatching what is ours.
