so is the thing about Biden allegedly finger raping some lady nbd?

What?

Edit: Reade said that Biden also told her something after the alleged assault that she initially didn’t want to share because “it’s the thing that stays in my head over and over.” But after some pressing from Halper, Reade decided to share:

“He took his finger. He just like pointed at me and said you’re nothing to me.”
It’s hard to find any articles on it that aren’t from questionable publications. Katie Halper did the interview with her.

Here’s a video from The Rising (which I like).

Here is the full interview

Wohl does these better.

I've now watched this whole thing in the last month in order to watch Marshawn and it was a lot better the first time as Mr. Robot.

The article has some gems too!

Quote
“My comments were not to discourage anybody, okay,” Rodriguez said. “They were comments that I received from the national news about the work of China. Chinese people in Italy, and how they worked, how China deliberately did what they did.”

Rodriguez said that people from China may have their nationality there, but ultimately, people are Americans after taking their “oath of citizenship” and have an American nationality too.

“You may have Chinese background, but you’re not no longer, as far as I am concerned, because of my name, I don’t look at me as Spanish or Mexican, or anything like that,” he said. “I’m American. It’s not meant to be disparaging on anybody, and it was taken out of context.”

Quote
Manhattan resident Luke Townsend said that the commission’s reaction to Fang’s comments was “a poor attempt at deflection.”

“Your silence is condoning this, and it’s concerning for me,” Townsend said.

Wells said he has built many homes for Chinese people and has eaten Chinese food in the area. Townsend asked Wells if he would condemn Rodriguez’s comments.

“It’s not up to me to be making comments,” Wells said. “He has to stand on his own two feet on what his comments were.”

Wells said, in the end, that he “doesn’t condone it,” after Townsend asked again if Wells would condemn the comments.

Maybe not the right thread, but our leadership is so rough ridin' worried about not being able to keep a close eye on everything that we are spending 1-2 hours a day for planning and update meetings.

Do you work at Apple?

I do not.

Not the right thread.

SE: 13 Years After Managing Through Tragedy, Hughes Offers Perspective on Lost Season
March 25, 2020
By: Austin Siegel

K-State head baseball coach Pete Hughes can remember the last time the world stopped like this, because four days later, the world came to his baseball field.

"Virginia Tech, at that time, was the largest tragedy in the nation's history," Hughes said. "We were trying to bring a community back to normal and the score was completely insignificant."

After 32 people were killed in a school shooting at Virginia Tech, still the worst in American history, Hughes managed the Hokies in the first sporting event of any kind on campus following the tragedy in 2007.

Lost my card while in costco yesterday and had to get a new one and it looks like a real beard in the picture taken with their shitty b/w camera.

14
Trying, but I keep trimming it with the #10 on the trimmer when it's just too mumped up looking.  I use the 0.5 on the neck but consistently end up going too high with that.

I was going to ask. Is the state of Washington allowing furloughed workers to get unemployment benefits?

I'm not sure how smoothly it's going, but there is a premise for it.  I only know because the bar owner posted on facebook a stack of letters she'd gotten from the unemployment office as "progress" that things were moving swiftly.  I zoomed in and saw they were all denials of "standby" unemployment.  Looked that up and it's for people who are furloughed with the expectation of going back within 4 weeks, and makes it where they don't have to go through the song & dance of applying for new jobs.  Her crew got denied because they couldn't say they'd be hired back within 4 weeks, although the letter indicated that if the employer says they'll be back within 8 weeks and is cool w/taking the ding on their UI for that, then it'd be approved.  I assume she's done that, as her crew getting money was her biggest motivator for just closing entirely rather than trying to turn into a carry-out business.

I also think they may have gotten approved, but just not of the "standby" type, which probably means they just have to fill out some token job applications each week.

The ones who are black should apply to be NFL head coaches and GMs, and then both sides can be getting something out of the teams' token rooney rule interviews.

There's no excuse for state government to work that poorly.

It's exactly how any state function of the sort operates; disability, unemployment, etc.  The processes are designed to where there's almost always an initial denial, and then the applicant has to do an appeal process to provide more information to show they're entitled to something.

The problem here is that the unemployment benefits option and process isn't designed to be taking in this many applicants with uncertain situations all at once, and that's why there needed to be and needs to be a coronavirus-specific solution exclusive from standard unemployment benefits - direct payments to all/most/affected, or a separate state unemployment process specific to the uniqueness of those unemployed because of coronavirus (including those whose jobs went away by state's order).

But why would any politician/government be motivated to get that done quickly and without ulterior motives?

19
I thought that deep down we were dealing with actual good people, guess I was wrong.

  I had no doubts we weren't.

I know it isn't palatable to you, and I absolutely get it, I feel the same way, but the only solution here is a governmental solution. It won't happen but the instant/temporary UBI is the best solution I've seen. Private sector solutions won't work because the scale is too small and there are too many disparate agendas.

Disparate agendas are why governments won’t do crap.

Bout to get those trump checks tho

I just looked this up on cnn and this was the start of the article.

Quote
Washington (CNN)The Trump administration's proposal to inject $850 billion into the economy as the coronavirus pandemic becomes increasingly dire is facing resistance from Senate Democrats who are instead pushing their own alternative plan for relief.

The clash is a sign that the administration's push marks just the start of what may be intense negotiations around what can be done next, even as lawmakers on both sides call for quick action.

It's going to get done and it will happen within the next 36 hours. I don't think any president should be able to spend nearly a trillion dollars without scrutiny, no matter the reason.

:impatient:

Wednesday games are so embarrassing that Gene retconned the entire sequence of last week to have the game we played taking place on a Thursday.  They edited it for the transcript*.

Quote
Brian: "Let's go back to the Big 12 Tournament because that is the last thing where it parcipitisply dropped off. Take us us through that time frame. What were the calls were like?"

Gene: "Yeah, I think what people saw happen was, literally, the start of the tournament there was a debate. We had a set of meetings right before the tournament started. Bob (Bowlsby), our Commissioner, thought that we probably should cancel that set of games. We quickly adjusted because we were literally an hour and a half away from gates opening. The security there said, 'That's going to cause too many problems.' If we're going to cancel or adjust the fanbase, let's do that later. So we went ahead with the games on (Wednesday) night. During those games, as we saw, things began to unfold with the NBA. We then announced that we would play the games, but we would go to limited fans the rest of the tournament. Then (Wednesday) night, during our game, is when the NBA canceled their one game and then eventually canceled their season. We met again on (Thursday) morning, an emergency meeting, and that's when Bob was getting messages from the NCAA. He was getting messages from the other Power 5 commissioners. So we were literally getting text messages during the course of our meeting while we were deciding. Then Bob would say, 'Well, the Pac-12 is canceling theirs, and the Big Ten is canceling theirs.' So, it was really kind of driven by what everybody else was doing. Then, ultimately, we canceled our tournament. It was very difficult. I had to go over and tell our women's team - they were right across the street. There were a lot of tears. Casey Scott was able to tell the men's team. Again, a lot of emotion, particularly for the seniors. Then it just continued to evolve in terms of the NCAA coming out and cancelling the spring sports. That caught us all a little bit by surprise, we were a little surprised by that. Now, of course where we are today, it makes a lot of sense. So, coming back and just having those conversations with our baseball team. The track athletes were at the national championship. I asked TJ (Tejaswin Shankar) our high jumper last night, 'How did you find out? Did they bring you together?' He said, 'No, coaches were literally hearing about it and they just said we're done.' So here, kids were getting ready to compete, and it's heartbreaking. Lauren (Taubert), our senior, was just devastated because it was her last chance. So, those are stories, but everybody is dealing with it. It's not just a K-State thing."
