I do have to laugh at the arrogance of Gottlieb thinking he deserves a shot at coaching a P5 school without any coaching experience.  This also shows that he would have just used K-State as a quick stepping stone to get to OSU if he had any success here.

This is why. Currie wasn't paying attention because he didn't think he had to and others were. I wonder if Currie even watched the Notre Dame game?

Kansas State Basketball is hard / Be back on January 8th

We have a football team competing for the national title and a bball team that is going to look ugly while they figure things out  :blah: over the next couple months. Come back in January when the games that matter are being played.

It's going to take several trips in your Delorean to bring your team back from 2009. Good luck with that. Although, you may be a graduate from Tech so you should be able to get one running again :runaway:

I'm gone for a few months raising money, building new facilities, signing new Fox Sports tier 3 deals and this is how you thank me? You have embarrassed our great university and alumni with the content of some of these threads.

If you were a successful assistant who was bringing in top recruits and were asked to go to a school where you would be handcuffed from playing the game everyone else winks and nods about but doesn't admit, would you want to come coach here and risk adding "this guy knows how to bring in the 3 star recruits" to your resume?  I wouldn't.   :flush: :curse:

I am out here for you Casey. You don't know what it's like to be ME out here for YOU. It is an up-at-dawn, pride-swallowing siege that I will never fully tell you about, ok? Help me... help you. Help me, help you.

Frank sums up his new strategy at SC:

"Two nights later in Columbia at our basketball camp, a breakthrough. Breakdown? Breakthrough. It was the oddest, most unexpected thing. I began writing what they call a Mission Statement for my team. You know -- a Mission Statement -- a suggestion for the future. What started out as one page became twenty-five. Suddenly I was my father's son. I was remembering the simple pleasures of this job, how I ended up here out of high school, the way a stadium sounds when one of my players performs well on the court... And suddenly it was all pretty clear. The answer was fewer players. Caring for them, caring for ourselves, and the games too. Starting our lives, really. Hey, I'll be the first to admit it. What I was writing was somewhat "touchy feely." I didn't care. I had lost the ability to bullshit. It was the me I'd always wanted to be."

I think those quotes were in reference to Alvin III.  This is his website. Not his fathers.

"Alvin is one of the BEST COACHES I've ever been around. He's UNBELIEVABLE in his relationships with young people. He's one of the most OUTSTANDING coaches and recruitersin basketball."

-Billy Clyde Gillispie

"Coach Brooks defines class, character, and a true role model. For a young coach like myself, I look up to Coach Brooks both as a coach and as a man. I am a better person because he has made a positive influence on me personally. Coach Brooks is what a role model is supposed to be."

-Josh Pastner.

Doesn't even compare to when Billy Walker left.  Man I miss that awesome hair, smile, popcorn eating, sideline coaching, towel using, posterizing basketball manchild.   :eye:

If another player leaves South Carolina and there aren't any fans around to witness it or care, did it really happen?

Thanks Karine, we are very proud of the boss. President Shulz has been very supportive of our efforts and we have just established a social media center here (complete with 46? monitors) to track and display the conversations happening.

 :surprised:

How many of those monitors are CaptainCrap and thecatwhisperer responsible for monitoring?...and how many are lock in on goEMAW?

You should see the file we have on you.  The best is when Currie and Weber start the morning off by asking what Barry McCockner had to say the previous day. Cue giggles and snorting of coffee by those who realize its not your real name. We then spend a good part of our day planning how to contend with this message board juggernaut who holds sway amongst the elite of the elite in KSU donor circles.

The nice thing is that oscar has lots of tricks up his sleeves. If ice cream doesn't work (yeah right) he has jelly beans and twizzlers.  I imagine he's stocking up on Cadbury eggs as we speak. We're in good hands fellas. I'm not worried. oscar is what you find at the end of a rainbow.

WTF.  You have a hundred posts and you registered a week ago, are you getting paid by oscar or Currie?

Minimum wage but I get free chicken nuggets when oscar sends me on an ice cream run so it's worth it.

4 JHR hold hands at half court and block the Angels from even crossing. Automatic 10 second rule every time. The other Jordan dunks it. Repeat.

that has to be the most important "intangible" to a juco scout.

yeah, that's why i'm lolling.  he's posting on gpc like if he was texting a coach.

That's usually how most of his posts look. I'm guessing its because he actually does text coaches info like that more than he posts on message boards. He's really ramped up his posting since Frank left. Dudes a Frank supporter and knows what players and coaches think of each other as its his job to help connect them. Big K-State fan and is very cautious on Webers upside as a coach. Like everyone he says he's got a stellar reputation in the coaching circles.

What about Rods and JHR? Should we do the same?  Maybe Sprads dad is paying them under the table to threaten to leave!!  Now we're getting somewhere!

Or maybe no credible source ever came out and said they were going to leave

I thought it was pretty common knowledge Rods was shaky on coming back last year?  I was shocked when the rumors about JHR being in the group came out but then thought about how Frank benched him at the strangest time.  In Franks defense, it awoke the beast in JHR when he came back.
