So this is now just a name-drop thread. I just realized Nebraska has had two Cookies. What are the odds of that?

That's what I thought. How are we coming on digging up a big 12 player named Christmas

Hmm, doesn't appear to be one (or at least not a talented one)

Even during Frank's years the attendance was shitty during xmas break and slightly there before.  I wasn't there last night, but if 3K is accurate, that seems low even for this time of yr.

surely someone on this board went yesterday?

K-State Sports announced attendance of 12,266 (paid)
I was there.  3K is probably a good ball park.  Got soaked from the walk in.  Sitting with wet clothes to watch that.  Good times!

That powercat is so goddamn sexy but I hope there's many more

Yep, needs more cats.  I'm sure the one on the bottom will be incredibly big.
I think your incredibly large powercat is that circle on the left.

HCBW in Cunningham Friday before our game in Wichita.  Watching Claws?  St. John small forward 6'7 180 lbs.  Rivals has him 3 stars, and being recruited by WSU and us.  Anyone know anything about him?  Had 21 pts in their 78-26 win.

My guy!   :ksu: :gocho:

 :ksu:

I really enjoyed that the title is "a Sweet 16 to remember" and there are several things about the season that Mitch couldn't remember. :D

True, but at least his "memories" are fond.  His first post on his blog was dedicated to his beloved cats as well.

Cats won't score more than 72. Wildcats 72 Hillbillies 65

STTB!  :ksu:
I don't know what STTB means, but I'm glad I was wrong about the score. This was one of the most balanced games I have seen the Cats play in the OOD.

Shane and Nino really seemed to be enjoying themselves tonight. Basketball should be fun, and I'm glad they enjoyed themselves.

#PlayHappy - the antithesis of that other little brother.

Rivals evaluation of Severe from the State Tournament:

Jon Severe, 6'2" Senior, SG (Christ the King)-
What Severe was able to do this weekend was nothing short of phenomenal. He broke the "AA" single game and two game scoring record with 40 in one game and a combined 68 in the two en route to leading the Royals to the Federation title. He was aggressive when he needed to be showing that extra burst getting to the rim, but it was his ability to hit shots off the dribble that was most impressive. He scores so fluidly and gets good lift on his shot that his 6'2" size wasn't an issue against bigger defenders. Was a playmaker as well finding the open man off the drive. Clearly was the best player this weekend in Albany and continued to prove why he is being so highly recruited.

pretty much the Anti-Sprads

Will not be announcing until May 22

Do we have anyone good coming in next year.  Weird that I don't know.

I'm excited about Marcus Foster and possibly Thomas :dunno:

What is Thomas' last name? Or if it is his last name, what is his first name?  I need to look him up on rivals.

Jevon is his first name.

Paging NIT selection committee. This is not a semifinal in the tournament. Pitt-Michigan should be the final. Not close vs. K-State.

From the USCjr message board:

I AM using common sense. You have to be pretty naive if you thought Martin seemed even remotely interested in SC by the comments he just made on national TV audience. I expect him to say he is 99% close to a deal with us like everyone here has been saying. What's funny is he called the social media clowns out by name. Our goose just got cooked. We are screwed once again.

Quote
I thought he was pretty cut and dry. He had the opportunity to make us look good and he did just the opposite.

i sincerely hope i'm wrong but i didn't get the vibe that he was leaving kstate & heading to carolina.

How should we feel about him denying the USC stuff without really denying it? I'm still worried  :frown:

He didn't come close to denying it, he was closer to confirming it than denying it.  The only thing we can take from that was remotely positive was he gave the appearance that he thought Currie's hands were tied with Jamar.

No way.  He handled it fantastically and he's staying.  No way he does all that if he's leaving.
Katz has the easiest job on earth.  Throw your client on national TV and watch him orchestrate with just a few words to have some people totally convinced he's staying and some totally convinced he's going.  :driving:

I'm at juco nationals. Take everything with a grain of salt, but the coaching grapevine/rumor mill says that Martin is interested in entertaining potential offers and both South Carolina and Illinois have been mentioned with him.

Doesn't mean anything, but college coaches are talking. This place is the biggest rumor mill on the planet, though, and several things people say are just regurgitated and changed thoughts. Kind of like a big game of telephone with job rumors.

Makes for entertaining conversations though.

FWIW, Brad Underwood was there all afternoon yesterday while all these coaches were supposedly talking.  Frank and Figs there today.
