Essentially Flyertalk / Re: Poison Ivy
« on: July 01, 2025, 01:48:25 PM »
I'm sensitive to it, so now my eyes are good at looking for it. Anti itch creams do just enough to keep me from scratching until it bleeds, but SF is right, a shot is all that works. Downside it only works for a few days IIRC and poison ivy lasts for over a month with me.

I'm not really picky on the peanuts. One time I accidentally got a jar that had lots of msg and sugar and junk added which was a bummer. Usually they are plain and i add sea salt
Use only the finest peanut with baja gold and your nut butter will really be primo

Steve Dave, how long before you noticed a difference after taking NR?

probably like a week. keep in mind I'm now 45 years old. I don't think it would be impactful at all for anyone under 40 (because NAD levels start to taper off then).
I'm 44, so similar. Wonder if 23 and me has that lol. Before they sell my DNA to the highest bidder anyway.

I can't say I've obviously felt a difference yet, but although I wouldn't say I feel like I'm more motivated but it does seem that I'm less unmotivated if that makes any sense.

I'll likely empty this 2 month supply and quit and see if I notice any difference after quitting.
Well I ran out and haven't noticed a fall off, so guess it doesn't do much for me personally.

Can't remember if I mentioned I do trt, "normal" dose, not I'm roiding and calling it trt. It's honestly the only thing I've taken that legit changed how I feel. I really was hesitant, but I don't regret it for a second. Not pushing it, but would definitely at least recommend aging men to consider it.

I don't look forward to the streak ending, but I do look forward to all the "we've overtaken kstate" talk.

5
Yea that looks excellent

6
it looks burnt tbh, did you leave the skin on?
Haha no it wasn't burnt

7
Looks like the wood chunk box is doing some heavy lifting
I think it does a decent job of smoking regularly tbh, but the box does help. This one took almost 24 hours before reaching the internal temp I wanted so that might have something to do with it lol.

8
This is a pork butt I did a few months ago. I'm not saying the smoke flavor couldn't be heavier, but it's not light imo

9
Pellet smokers are great, only dumbass purists say otherwise
I'm not ashamed one bit. Plus the smoker I have has a wood chunk box to supplement extra smoke (one of the gripes about pellet smokers).

10
So I know pellet smokers are for lazy mfers like me, but nothing beats throwing a pork butt on at 6, getting into the whiskey, and waking up and everything still going strong. Currently in the stall.

In a few weeks I'll have my PR of liquidity, but have zero experience buying stocks and it scares me. So long story short, enjoy getting rich fellow goemawers while I'll be putting cash under my mattress.

does anyone else enjoy bologna chili?
I've never smoked a bologna, but I totally would before adding to chili. I think I might actually do this

I wonder if it's possible to add a few more recipes and have maybe a 2 week cycle

Essentially Flyertalk / Re: New Mattress (MASTER SLEEP THREAD)
« on: April 01, 2025, 06:22:48 AM »
We recently got the helix midnight luxe. It's firm. But I do think I'm waking less and don't have any aches or pains when I get up. We're happy with so far.

would like an updated review if possible. I'm down to a Saatva classic v. the midnight elite. anyone have a Saatva? welcome all suggestions and input.

data points:

combo side/back sleeper. 6' 205 lbs. wife is also combo sleeper. 5'3" and weighs between 90 and 180 lbs and folks I'm not venturing a more accurate guess or asking LMAO GUYS YOU KNOW WHAT I'M SAYING! have the cooling machine so temp control is not a factor.
Sorry probably too late with the follow up. Overall I'd say both my wife and I wake up with less back/joint pain with this bed. Honestly I don't think I really ever wake up with that feeling like "I must've slept in the wrong position" anymore.

I've also only had mattresses cheaper than this in the past so I can't compare to other models at this price point. Overall, I'd have to give it at least 4/5 stars. No real reason not to give 5 except I can't comment on longevity yet and I've always struggled with length of sleep and still do. No mattress will likely solve that, though.

Everyone should take glycine though. It’s got tons of benefits. And it’s cheap.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Turns out about 30% of gelatin is glycine, so I'm already getting a lot of that. Though I might take it at night instead of mornings now.

I ended up buying Thorne NiaCel 400. Basically because reddit said it was also A tier but you get 60 capsules (415mg) for $70 vs prohealth you get 30 capsules (500mg) for $90 vs True Niagen you get 60 capsules (500mg) for $116.

So I went for the cheapest A tier but I will get a little less NR per capsule.

I want to wake up feeling like I'm 25, but I don't know if there has been any supplement that has made me feel noticeably different. Flax seed oil did a long time ago, but haven't even been able to recreate that.

All that said, I still take nac, multi, magnesium, turmeric, and fish oil along with aforementioned gelatin and creatine lol.

NR/NMN makes me feel noticeably different. Like, vibrant, colors brighter, pep in step. basically meth I guess but chiller. I don't really deal with body aches but people say it helps that a lot too.

Ashwaganda will sometimes. I cycle off and on with it. I will feel calmer when I'm taking it.

Glycine/Inositol/L-Theanine/Mag L-Threonate makes me sleep noticeably better. I've always struggled with wakefulness so it's easy to notice.
Maybe I'll try nr/nmn. My motivation has been pretty bad lately for personal reasons so that might help.

Already take magnesium but it is "fully chelated" and "from glycinate" according to the supplement facts. I'll try those other things though. My sleep has always sucked but currently only sleeping 5-6 hours a night total, often with a couple hours awake middle of the night. I'd kill for a regular 7, but maybe I just don't need it, I don't know.

I don't know what I wore yesterday, so I don't think I'd be good at jeopardy, but it's fun watching smart people be smart

I'm actually up on xrp in a very long time. I always said I would sell when that happened, but I'll be a dumbass and sit on it.
Glad I'm a dumbass

Do we HLOD fellow Mr. Dumbass???
I don't rough ridin' know but imma let it ride!
I'm Forest Gumping this crap. Bad part is I didn't buy enough.

I sold about half of what I bought back when I was trying to make myself whole and take some profit on my entire crypto buy-in, so at this point I don't see when I'll ever selll anymore of it, especially XRP and what I'm reading on the SEC side of things. If ripple can truly replace SWIFT that's a huge get and I'm here for it.
I only bought $3k worth originally, now at $12k, so I'm not getting rich off it. But I honestly didn't think it was ever going to do crap so I'm not complaining.
