I'm still buying my four vanguard ETF's every other week like nothing is happening. I figure it will work itself out 30 years from now when I need it.  I don't envy folks that just retired and have lots of equity exposure.

I bought some NVDA and FXAIX today but I still have a lot of cash sitting on the sidelines.

I have my eye on NVDA but they could pull it back to mid 70's pretty easily.  The headline risk right now is just nuts.  Current overall pullback is not too concerning yet but if it gets to 17-20%... they will crush everything.  Hope oil keeps getting killed.  WW has the right idea.
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

I’m terrible at this stuff. I buy Vanguard stuff, but also go back & forth on “Do I buy $10k of P66?”

I don’t know anything about anything. I’m glad I built a cash position. Wish I built a bigger one. It’ll draw 4% until I reinvest it and I’m not in a rush to do that. Probably just make little purchases here and there with each subsequent drop in the market. Hopefully that doesn’t continue.

Keep in mind that the market could turn back up on a dime if there is any hint of tariff negotiations (so this opportunity may not last long)

I don't feel like this a great time to "buy the dip" or try and time the market personally.

This is where wetwillie is correct then.  You just dollar cost average the crap out of the pullback.  It really depends on your timeline.  If you have the time, just DCA.  And if you have some extra coin and want to play a little, pick a blue chip stock that has gotten beat to crap and pays a nice dividend.  It goes down, buy some more.

Ya, stagflation and a recession seem very possible. On the other hand, Trump could walk it all back on Monday similar with what he did with Mexico and Canada. For that reason I’m not in a rush to jump back in.

Totally agree.  Too much headline risk along with economic factors that could turn south quickly.  KC is correct when he says it could go back up in a hurry but then you would need to have time to watch and trade accordingly.

I doubt any rebound would be that swift. The very fact that policy can turn on a dime in this admin is exactly why businesses are going to be very careful about investing in growth.

Like others ITT, I’m just gonna keep buying my usuals, which has been VOO and VGT.

If I panic sold—WHICH I WOULD NEVER DO—it would be only partly because of the tariff announcements themselves is my point.

There’d be a rebound if there was a total reversal tomorrow, but I think it would take a lot longer to get back to where we were just last week.

But of course if I could predict the market I wouldn’t still be checking this thread.

In a few weeks I'll have my PR of liquidity, but have zero experience buying stocks and it scares me. So long story short, enjoy getting rich fellow goemawers while I'll be putting cash under my mattress.

If I was to do anything right now, which I may, find a blue blood that took a hit and pays dividends regularly and snatch it up.

Shockingly a lot of bank stocks took a big hit. hint, hint.

Or buy into an ETF of dividend stocks.

Well, you are the only one I know that didn’t know. It’s sometimes a shockingly good deal.
