If you've really got a problem with that, you can just ignore me from now on, because you're not changing my mind.

i don't plan on changing your mind, i plan on making fun of your excesses, hypocrisies and unwarranted attacks on others.

Anybody who posts anything remotely positive you blindly brand a sysboner, you do nothing but bitch constantly.

All I've tried to do is stand my ground and provide some objectivity, but yeah, I'm the one who's become a joke.

Hooray for socks, they bring so much to the table.

not as much as permacheerleaders, to be sure.

I'm going to support Kansas State more than Frank Martin or any individual coach.

met oscar in person at the Coaches v. Cancer event in KC.  Can confirm that his voice is annoying and he appears to be quite the dork.  It's like an adult going through puberty.  weird.

Weber had throat surgery when he was a kid that effed up his voice.

So what effed up his recruiting techniques?

Wouldn't you know better than anybody, BWebbs0?

Why would I know? It's just a play on words. I think we all understand his recruiting techniques are a bit out there, right?  :dunno:

Greg Sequele, 6'8"225 PF-C, currently a SO at Citrus JC in Socal, reportedly visiting KSU sometime this week. This was tweeted by Brad Winton at Jucorecruiting.com and by the twitter feed from Sequele's former AAU team, the Compton Magic. He'll also be visiting Depaul sometime this week.

Sequele is a native of the Carribbean island Guadeloupe, played HS ball in LAC, signed with Washington St. as part of Class of '11, was ruled ineligible at WSU, played his FR year at Coll of So Idaho JC, is now at Citrus JC. Along with KSU and Depaul, he's also gotten recent interest from USC and St. Mary's.

Stuff on Sequele from his HS days pasted below.

Nairn update, Telep talked to Sunrise coach. Sounds like KSU staff is really putting in the effort and is in good shape with Nairn at this time.

PG Nairn has unique name, big game
By Dave Telep

He was named after his father, who was originally named after legendary entertainer Lou Rawls. But Lourawls Nairn Jr. (Wichita, Kan./Sunrise Christian) won’t need to sing or act to win over college coaches. He’s blazing quick from baseline-to-baseline and extremely difficult to guard. The 2014 point guard with the most unique of names doesn’t need a nickname, but he’s got one.

Friends and recruiters alike call him “Tum Tum.” Apparently, the popular “Three Ninjas” series featured a kid by that name who could pack away food with little effort.

“I don’t know if I remember watching it, but there was a Three Ninjas movie a few years ago,” Sunrise coach Kyle Linsted said. “There was a kid on there who ate everything in sight, that’s what they called him, ‘Tum Tum.’”

Well this “Tum Tum” is on the rise. He’s going to be a high-major point guard. Most figured that out following his exploits with Spiece Mo-Kan last summer. When you have the elusive speed and quickness Nairn owns, you’re marketable.

Count oscar Weber among those in the know as the Kansas State head coach is a frequent visitor to Sunrise Christian. “He’s Kansas State’s No. 1 guy,” Linsted said. “oscar is here all the time for him.” Weber’s starting to notice he’s got company, too. Iowa, Wake Forest, Miami and Indiana have seen him. North Carolina called, so did Kentucky. And Texas A&M and Kansas have also been in.

“I think Kansas State has recruited him (harder) over everybody,” Linsted said.

Nairn, according to Linsted, has made strides since July. “Since the summer, you would not believe the difference in his shot. He’s starting to really shoot it now. He’s always had the speed, athleticism and toughness and now he’s shooting it.”

Nairn is not the only prospect at Sunrise Christian. Here’s a glance at why college coaches have made it a point to visit Wichita this fall.

Sounds like our staff is going strong after Kaleb Joseph. I'm really high on the kid, other than Jaquan Lyle, he'd be my top choice from all PG prospects KSU has offered in this class. Right now, he has high major offers from KSU, Providence, Seton Hall, Maryland, Tennessee, Boston College, and West Virginia. From a recent update on the Maryland Scout site:

Quote
Fortunately for Maryland, Joseph said distance won't be a factor in his college decision.

“A big thing is the relationship with the coaches, where I feel the coach has the most trust in me and I have the most trust in him,” Joseph said. “Style of play is going to be important too.”

The recruiting heat will only pick up for Joseph as his high school career progresses and he plans on taking some visits over his Thanksgiving and winter breaks. Joseph said he doesn't have a top five yet, but the competition for Maryland will be fierce as Joseph acknowledged Kansas State and West Virginia are recruiting him the hardest right now.

Joseph highlights from this past summer linked below.

hold the 'ship for 14

Atewe is still on the market, I think he could be a solid addition to this class.

FWIW, he's now saying he will make his decision in January

11
But Fanning, he can play the 4, he's versatile!*

*Hopefully, only in spot duty for the KSU Cats(should he matriculate to KSU Cat land).

Sounds like our staff is still actively recruiting Chris Griffin but no visit has been set up to KSU yet. He has added an offer from Mississippi St. to the list from the original quote below, other background info also can be found below.

Wabash Valley CC forward Chris Griffin is setting up a visit to Kansas State. He will also visit Gonzaga. Brett should have something more on this later.

Griffin has offers from K-State, Gonzaga, UTEP, Auburn and others. I just need to update his profile.

Griffin is from Tallahassee, FL, was HS class of '10, signed w/Murray St., played there in 10-11, saw a little PT, but not much, as far as I can tell, sat out 11-12, now going to Wabash Valley JC(Chicago area), still considered class of '13, will have 2 years of eligibility remaining after this upcoming year at Wabash.

Some stuff on Griffin(the younger)

@WillGunter247

Per AAU coach Kenny Gillion, Wabash CC wing Chris Griffin will visit Gonzaga Sept. 15. Kansas St., Auburn, UTEP have all offered.

Versatile player, can play the 2, 3 or 4. Better suited as a wing, nice midrange game, good defender.

Leadership in my mind boils down to, 1 or 2 or even 3 players kicking a lot of ass, their teammates observing them kicking a lot of ass, and either directly or indirectly the ass kickers persuade the non-ass kickers to join in the ass kicking effort.

I believe every successful team has this element of "leadership" to some degree.

seems directly correlated to having good players.

Absolutely, you won't have a chance of being successful(aka kicking ass) without having good players.

15
I do see Gruds in the same light as those two.

Not as in the "1st team AA" light but in the "they are dedicated, they get the job done, and are there when you need them" light.

16
Do you consider Arthur Brown and Collin Klein, both noted for their reserved natures, to be adequate leaders?

17
i love mcorebs as much as anyone but he's not a leader

30 in 1st rd NCAA tourney game, 24 on road against Top 10 Missouri, if ref actually makes call on Royce White clotheslining him up in Ames, he would have had deciding FTs up there.

That's enough leading for me.

18
So much for that, Bell cuts it to 3 - UConn, Auburn, and Oregon.

19
Bell says he's down to 4: KSU, UConn, Auburn, and Oregon. As far as I know, each of those schools has offered except UConn. He's planning on signing during the early period.

http://www.coast2coasthoops.com/content/jordan-bell-down-4-breaks-down-582/
They tweeted about 18 hours ago and said that all 4 of those teams have offered him.

From the twitter feed of Bell's AAU team, the Compton Magic, Weber is visiting Bell at his HS(LB Poly) today. Chet, Lowery, and now Weber have all been out there to visit Bell in the past month. Starting to sound like this kid is our top priority for the final spot in this class.

No major conference school would hire a coach that had just been fired for performance either until K-State did.

You have to think that Illinois is program on a much higher level than KSU if you think the oscar Weber hire is exciting.   Basically you must think KSU can't find a better coach than Illinois' garbage, a team that we have outperformed over the past 5 years.   Frank be-damned, it's about the tone set by the hire that we are a bottom feeder program that can only hire coaches that fail at "better" schools.

I'm pissed about how the Frank thing went down, but can understand why some "people" aren't.

Separate issue, I'm pissed about Webber, and have a really hard time understanding how anybody isn't.

And I bought tickets, begrudgingly, because despite knowing that my purchase would be spun by the AD as approval of their leadership, I love Tay, McG, JO, Big Gip, Angel, Swagu and Shane, and sometimes EMAPE too much.  And I can actively show within the FOOD that my season ticket purchase was not a vote of approval for Currie.

Success isn't guaranteed for Weber at KSU, but I'm going to support him as our coach.

If it's bragging saying I'm going to support Weber as our coach at KSU just as much as I supported Frank Martin, then fine, it is what it is.

21
WTF are you talking about?

There was a string of 10 about posts in a row that said "I'm going to go to some of the games, but I really don't care."

Just to let everybody out there know we're not just a bunch of goEMAW zombies, I will be at the games, I do care.

So you make a post, 11 minutes after mine, where you reference mine and say you make going to the games a priority and you try to play it off that its not a callout/brag post in the middle of a discussion about why season ticket sales are down.  Bullshit.

Sounds like somebody feels a little guilty about not supporting KSU hoops.

Ticket sales aren't down because of me.

You're right that ticket sales aren't down because of you, but ticket sales aren't down because of me either.  Ticket sales are down because we hired a coach that sucked all the excitement out of the fanbase, therefore demand is down. There is no reason to invest/overpay for season tickets if you don't plan on making every game because tickets will easily be available at a lower price.  Like it or not, a portion of our fanbase bought season tickets because they viewed it as an investment with the possible return that they will have guaranteed access to tickets if team's success continued to grow and demand for tickets went up.  The oscar hire greatly lowered the possibility for that return, so they dropped their season tickets and no one is backfilling their demand.

I in no way feel guilty for not supporting the KSU hoops players.  I'll be at just as many games, but I'm not going to reward our AD who has a higher interest in success in the financial report than success on the court by making a bad investment on season tickets.  However, you keep denying that you didn't mean that post as a callout/brag. This last post you made clearly supports that claim.

It's not a callout, it's not a brag, because that's the way it's always been and always will be with me.

Your highly emotional response proves that you really do care, but you have keep in lock step with "I hate John Currie, so I still have to crap on the basketball program" company line.

A lot of folks want to take one big continuous dump on the hoops program. I won't do it.

I live further than 90 miles away from Manhattan. I have season tickets.

Leaving work early can be a hassle to make it to all the weeknight games, but it's a priority for me to support Kansas State basketball, so I will be at the Bram.

Go Cats.

Good for you, but your crazy to think that every season ticket holder should have the same priorities as you. If you think everyone that goes to KSU games should have the same priorities and be at every game, then the Bram only needs 3,000 seats available for worthy fans.

When did I say every season ticket holder should have the exact same priorities as I do?

You felt compelled to state your stance, and I stated mine.

If you're not in all in, that's not a crime, but don't give me crap for fully supporting the team.

You're the one who made a passive-aggressive call out that gives you an easy out (which you used). If you want to call someone out for not having the same priorities, then actually do it and don't make some passive-aggressive statement that you back out.
