The LSU v Florida State game should be fun tonight
-
Floorada just scored. :billdance:
-
LSU losing would be so awesome
-
It's gettin' chippy boys
-
This is a pretty good game. Like and subscribe it. Gucciiiiiiiiiii
-
These offenses kinda suck
-
LSU losing would be so awesome
YES it would. As much as I hate the gloating FSU, I hate anything SEC more.
-
I just want nothing good for brian kelly

What an absolute ass-kicking to such a vaulted SEC team.
-
Kinda reminds me of the ass-kicking we gave them a couple of years back.
-
Stepped away but glad FSU kicked LSU's crap in. Between their women's bball team, baseball, and Livvy Dunne ( I get it katdaddy NO) I'm in an LSU fatigue

Never heard of her until you brought up this little gym rat.

-
Lol Clemson keeps fumbling in the red zone
-
Duuuuuuuuuuke
-
Clemson sucks
-
Dabo’s Plantation takes the L.
-
Alabama may win but geez are they meh on offense.
Tech hanging in there
-
Also lol at Wisky
-
Tech :surprised:
-
Big 12 specializing in blowing leads to Pac 12 teams tonight.
-
Not so fast my friend
-
UT and TTU have been fun to watch tonight so far
-
Bama’s QB takes a lot of sacks
-
I don't see any way tech wins this game
-
These games have been fun today!
-
Texas got this
-
35 straight from Houston
-
Tejas wins. A Tech win is an amazing weekend for the Big 12

TexSucks Tech amirite
-
TEXAS IS ....................................................BACK!!!!
-
Tech might be even more Iowa state-y than Iowa state my goodness
-
I hit my parlay with Oregon getting that pick 6 and covering!
-
Should we add Rice instead of Houston?
-
Does Ok. State suck balls and taints?
-
Does Ok. State suck balls and taints?
Yes. They probably are the worst team in this conference.
-
Does Ok. State suck balls and taints?
Looking that way. That's going to be quite the pillow fight between them and flood aggie next week.
-
Yes, it does appear they suck the b's and t's.
Follow-up query: is UCF the best football addition?
-

Follow-up query: is UCF the best football addition?
Folks, Big 12 after dark is pretty crazy tonight :surprised:
-
Yeah some surprisingly good action between KU/Nevada and CU/CSU. Did Coach Prime somehow make CSU relevant?
-
Feels like bean time
-
Thankfully Nevada sucks super bad
-
I do think they’d be better with Bean, but KU is clearly the superior squad here. They can gut it out with either.
-
Damn, just saw that dirty hit hunter took. Shameful
-
Damn, just saw that dirty hit hunter took. Shameful
Agreed, but you have to wonder if that’s collateral damage from the whole Coach Prime persona. He talked about laughing his but off last week when his son got an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty because “it’s personal.”
-
Thankfully Nevada sucks super bad
-
It's fun being able to do this multiview thing on YTTV and have a bunch of games on. It's really great because my TV is at least a million inches so each feed is like a huge TV too!

Yeah it rules
-
KU can score at will, consider the wolfpack beaked
-
WOW Colorado with the 98 year drive with like 2 min left!
-
WOW! Tie ballgame!
-
OVERTIME IN BOULDER
-
Neither game lives up to its billing as a blowout but IM NOT COMPLAINING
-
:Wha:
-
CO won the toss and chooses offense. Let’s see how that works out for them Kev.
-
I think the line is "Bold strategy, Cotton..."
Safe to say TCU was caught off guard, Nebraska sucks, and CSU game planned well.
-
Honestly shocked CSU didn’t go for 2 there
-
Fitting that csu loses this game because of personal fouls
-
Also I have to admit that I never understand the blindside block calls
-
Damn, just saw that dirty hit hunter took. Shameful
it was hard to watch, i was surprised the dude wasn’t ejected but maybe the rules don’t allow for that.
just a really shitty play by the defender
-
Also I have to admit that I never understand the blindside block calls
The one they called there I really didn’t understand cause it sure looked like the guy would’ve made the tackle if he wasn’t blocked.
-
I don't think the dirty hit on Hunter was a super hard one. Like, one that you'd normally expect to knock someone out of a game. Seems more like a case of a freak injury.
-
Also I have to admit that I never understand the blindside block calls
I didn’t like that flag at all. It’s probably correct to the letter of the law, but just doesn’t sit right w me.
-
Guys, this Red River Rivalry is a fun game to watch!
-
I just don't understand these unsportsmen-like conduct calls after a TD. I just watched a Texas player face the crowd after making a TD hold his hands up and bow. NO rough ridin' CALL, BUT WHEN OUR GUY DID THE SAME THING AND IT COST US 15 YARDS!!!
-
They are universally stupid calls.
-
OU and Texas are pretty damn good. They might not have another game within 13 points until they play again in December.
-
The same crap happened to us last year and just like clockwork our crybaby fans predicted doom, but our pair of CKs pulled us out of the slump, and guess what we WIN the CCG.

Miami had the game won and fumbled on a 3rd down run with 40 seconds left. Rest is history.

On another note, can we be done with the Pat Mcafee experiment?
-

I don't really watch Gameday (mostly can't cause Canada) but I am done just given the clips I've seen
-
On another note, can we be done with the Pat Mcafee experiment?
stupid youtubetv used the Mcafee broadcast on ESPN2 of the OU-Texas game for the multicast. It was not just an unlistenable dollar store version of the Manning Cast but ESPN put the game feed in a smaller window so they add a window of Mcafee in his rhinestone cowboy costume for 3+ hours :Yuck:
-
I enjoyed watching him as a guest on the Manning cast but then never again after. He just has his one schtick which he now seemingly does like 4 hours a day on ESPN. It’s crazy.
-

Totally concur. He's not all that great and they're wanting to shove him down our face?

He's a hardo

yes using that feed was infuriating. I wouldn't have minded if they didn't show him the whole time!

Did anyone watch the UH WVU game? It would appear WVU scored a TD to go up by 4 with 0 minutes and 12 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter.
And lost.
-
Hear me out.... maybe.... maybe, the BigXII is hot garbage this year.
-

I tuned in with 27 seconds to go. UH up 35-32 . WV has the ball on their own 40ish. WV has a couple of incomplete passes, then a short pass across the middle and like 40 YAC for a TD. 12 seconds left and the WV QB has a 15 yd unsportsmanlike called on him. WV has to kickoff from the 20 and UH has the ball on their own 45 with 7 seconds left.
One short out pass for about 5 yds to the 50. 3 seconds left, HAIL MARY right to the goal line, tipped ball, TD for the win. :sdeek:
-
Hear me out.... maybe.... maybe, the BigXII is hot garbage this year.
Hay, get the eff out of Alaska and watch a Big XII game. If it doesn't make you want to jack off from the wild excitement, you're a rough ridin' dead dick and should go back to rough ridin' dolls. The UH / WVU game was a shitload of surprises and downright fun. NO ONE ON THIS BOARD COULD HAVE PREDICKED THE FINAL OUTCUM! :excited:
-
That WVU vs Houston ending was absolutely nuts. I haven't seen a game swing like that since the Chiefs vs Bills AFC championship game.
-
People always post these charts after a wild finish, but I've definitely never seen one with ups and downs like this before.
-
didn't watch the game but just looking at the box score it looks like the 4Q was just a completely different ballgame than the previous 3.
-
Yep, looks almost as crazy as the Chief's vs Bills game I was talking about.

This Tulane/Memphis game is one knockdown fight to the end. They are both 4-1 and leaders in the AAC and act like it. Lots of TDs and passing, along with some good running drives. I'm glad we didn't play either one this year.
-
Welp, Tulane takes a knee and kicks ass.
-
I'm glad Houston won that game, they were way better in the second half and were the more deserving team.
Adding them, for football, was a mistake. It was wild how empty that stadium was got that game. Them and Arizona have no football culture, at all, kinda understandable for Arizona, completely inexcusable for Houston.
-
I'm not sure, but I think this is the first win for the newbies against the hateful 8. Even thou it was a Hail Mary win, it neverless a win.
-
BYU sucks major ass
-
All the newbies suck ass. And just think how much they thought they were significant against the hateful 8.
-

Commuter school.

Didn’t realize Al Golden was the DC at ND and also didn’t realize he gave up on the whole wearing a neck tie thing
-
Malzahn is an overrated coach and he completely mismanaged the end of that game
-
Malzahn is the near beer of national title game coaches
-
houston was straight up robbed.

So was Arizona state

I just bet against Sam Houston so these poor dudes can get a win.

I don't know what it is about the Gun's media interviews. Today they asked if the OU game is the most important game this year. The Gun responded by saying the most important game this year was against K-State. He is glad that the game is over and was fortunate they played them when they did. I think he is not as worried about OU as he is about possibly playing K-State in the near future. :crossfingers:
-
OSU needs to be more Gordon and less Bowman.
-
God help me, I'm pulling for Missouri.
-
on the one hand it's fun when missouri loses. on the hand, it's fun when the number 2 team in the country loses.
-
I know. Thus my inner conflict.
-
I may have been wrong with that more Gordon call.
-
Doesn't look like MU's going to do it. I find I'm OK with that.
-
it's great that someone loses either way.
-
Yeah, and it's going to be Missouri.
-
Down goes OU. Down goes OU.
Not looking like an OUT CG.
-
I just knew the Gun's Cowboys were going to win. Just saying.
-
Love it for OSU and the Big 12.
-
Too bad we won't be a part of it; the CCG.
-
Assuming KU wins this one, we’ll need some WTF losses from OSU and/or Texas to have a chance at this point
-
I do have some confidence that Texas will screw up somehow.
-
Assuming KU wins this one, we’ll need some WTF losses from OSU and/or Texas to have a chance at this point
Things usually work out well for us.
Historically speaking.

Yeah, and made almost irrelevant for it all had we won last week. We'd be feeling damn good going into these last two games with Dallas very reachable. Though ok st helped a lot today

Losing to the better teams and pounding the worse teams helps us in this scenario, lmao

If ou, osu, ut, and ksu win out then the cats are likely in the b12 championship

An even tastier scenario is OU,OSU and KSU win out and UT loses to ISU this weekend.

Yeah, I'm usually more the Michigan side of that rivalry but I definitely wouldn't mind them losing given everything. They seem like baby backed bitches
-
I have difficulty siding with either team. I blame the bIg for being such a crap league that these two schools dominate year after year most of my adult life. Where's the CKs and Lightpoles who can build a program with all the resources available to a bIg program?
-
Two very unlike able teams. Don’t want to see any more shots of Ryan Day whining at officials.

why are people pro osu today? i'm open to persuasion, but right now, i think i'm a michigan man for the next hour or so.
-
I think michigan has mostly fans who didn't go to that school and couldn't go to that school, which I think is weird. Ohio state at least gives basic ohio'rs guaranteed entry to one of their versions of ksu-salina and the right to promote after a year, so maybe more fans with a reason to be fans.

That is, devastating

I only saw the highlights of the first Oregon v Washington game and it looked fun. So far it's a fun game hope it's back and forth all night.
-
I'm not sure what your watching, but I got the PAC 12 CCG on ABC and UW is kicking UO's ass. Does anyone else notice how shitty the audio is? There is so much background noise that I can barely hear the talking heads. I hope our CCG is of a better quality.

Watch your tongue young man; you're too young to call my mom a bitch. Also, have a little respect for your elders. I'll have you know my mother had been in the ground for 28 years, RIP
-
this thing where players wear their football pants tucked up above the knee - is that not just begging to destroy your knee skin?
-
I wonder why they would do that, is it because it's to damn hot in Vegas? Is this game in a dome?
-
I'm quite surprised, I just tuned in to find UO ahead for the first time with the 3rd quarter about over. They are around 15 sec. left and UW is at the 15-yard line. So if they don't get in they can kick a FG.
EDIT: Guess Washington did not try for a FG and are going at it in the 4th.
-
Alllmost all players do it all the time it does seem crazy
-
This is pretty crazy actually
-
Washington sandbagging everybody all year after that OT win, just to unleash it all tonight
-
Ended up being a good game
-
With only a couple of minutes left, UW is again kicking UO's ass. The better team has this. There is no way Oregon
would get in the CFP, and if they did they would be out in the first round and it would look a lot like a Lincoln Reiley-led OU in his 3 CFP games. UW has a good chance of making it past the first round, but I don't know what an SEC team would do to them.
-
EDIT: While I was typing the last post UO scored a TD. UW has the ball, but I'm wondering if they'll get it in scoring range or ride the clock out.
-
I kind of wished that UW would have sealed the deal and scored again, but what the hell they won! :excited:

For what, I called it like I seen it. It's a crap show compared to the Big XII CCG.

You would certainly think. I don't know if it's a like for like comparison, but I've noticed some college volleyball players wearing their knee pads below their knee cap. Their knee aren't hitting the ground though because the pad protrudes beyond their knee cap anyway.
-
This is gonna be a monster blowout
-
I have my doubts about OSU’s ability to come back from this.

Sark/UT is despicable.

So, how is the committee going to find a way to justify putting Alabama in over Texas if they hold on(assuming the unbeatens win tonight).
They might out do themselves with their justification.

I don’t think it’s a stretch to think that beating the #1 team in the sec championship in week 14 and being 11-1 is more impressive than losing to #11 in week 2
-
good for texas on running through the weak big 12, send them to the liberty bowl
-
If I were on the committee, Georgia would have to show me they can dig deep, find the heart of a champion and win this game or they're out (provided the unbeatens win). That's just the hard-boiled eggs I roll with.

-
Will UT get in?!?!
-
Don't be too shocked if both Alabama and Georgia get in. Add Washington and Michigan and the field is set.
-
Georgia is showing how hard clock management is, the great teams just beat the crap out of people and don't need to worry about 2 minute drills
-
They're shooting fireworks here in Baldwin for the Xmas tree lighting. I thought there were Bama fans celebrating early.
-
Don't get down Horn fans. Michigan could lose.

How could it not be
Washington
Michigan
Alabama
Texas

The FSU problem is how it could not be those four

Are you ready?

I've got some Iowa +28 action let's go
-
Florida State will attack Ft Sumter to get out of the ACC if they win tonight and don't get an invite.

I don't think it's going to be a problem
-
With Michigan up 3 - 0 midway through the first it really feels like the Iowa offense just doesn't have enough time left in the game to make up that large of a deficit
-
Iowa plays it safe on 3rd and long only to get burned on a punt return. lol
-
First down, Hawkeyes, MFérs
-
Iowa should just throw 40 yard bombs on every single play. Why not?

The punt coverage isn't as good on their long interception play

Woooweee, that's some exciting punt action right there.

I see well then texas is probably effed unless papa can pull this off

I could see fsu getting left out even if they win

I think it's FSU/Bama, UT is in I think.

They absolutely should leave fsu out but they are cowards

That looks like a good O/U for the ACC/Big10 championships combined right now.

The line was iowa +22 but I have iowa +28 in a teaser

I don’t see how UT gets left out when their only loss is a neutral site rivalry game and their best win is a road victory vs the SEC champ.

They’re getting left out

Is the Gators D elite or does Louisville just suck?

I think we've seen the Michigan vs good D-no offensive team. Don't need more of that.

Louisville’s QB is remarkably bad.
-
Watch the committee just be like um... We've decided it will be an 8 team playoff this year
-
I’m just not convinced that FSU this year is any better than the undefeated UCF team that got left out.
-
Wasn't it the SEC who opposed expanding this year? Leave 'em out and go the unbeatens and the team who beat their champ. How I'd do it.
-
Based on how the committee ranked everyone going into this week, the easiest solution by far is leaving the SEC out.
The problem is no one honestly thinks that four teams are better than Georgia.

I think that's where they're in a pickle of they have to force the SEC in. They have to drop FSU 2 spots to 6 for beating at top 15 team by 2 scores while simultaneously jumping Alabama 4 spots for beating Georgia. Or they drop Georgia 5 spots for losing to a top 8 team and still drop FSU a spot for beating at top 15 team by 2 scores.

I say Alabama can be selected when Tooberville releases his hold on promotions.

Just read there was a bar in Cedar Rapids that offered a free beers until Iowa scores promotion. I assume it ended with the game.

They were probably wheeling them out on stretchers by the 4th quarter.

Jesus Christ
-
The problem is no one honestly thinks that four teams are better than Georgia.
Georgia has done absolutely nothing on the field, this year, to justify this talking point. Every single other undefeated and one loss power five team has better wins than Georgia does. Georgia's schedule sucks and they should be punished for it. The only question with them is who is #7, Georgia or Ohio State.
-
I don't think the committee is going to penalize Florida State after they could have earlier this week and didn't. FSU's defense is nasty and, with Rodemaker they are good enough to give it a shot against Michigan or Washington. I think the top 4 will be
1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. Texas
4. Florida State
5. Alabama
6. Georgia
7. Ohio State
8. Oregon
9. Ole Miss
10. PSU

The SECs best non conference win as a whole is Louisville? I really don't know how they can come out and put Alabama in. If they do, they need to go full bbs'n and put Georgia in too.

easy you just put the team in that won the conference

I think you need to do both or neither.
Bama is ahead of Georgia because of the head-to-head. But then how are they ahead of Texas? Because Bama's loss was better than Texas's? Well then Georgia has the best loss of the bunch!

I can't decide who will melt down harder if they get left out. Probably FSU but maybe UT.

It would be crazy for fsu to get left out and yet that's what needs to happen

This would probably be the end of the ACC. The SEC and big 10 will get their picks and we can have the best of what's left.

Next year is the start of the 12 team playoff. No conference champ of the ACC (or Big 12) will be left out again.

Louisville is a pretty good win. I think if you looked around you'd find the b12's best win (alabama) being so good is an outlier

Let's see here... both 1 loss teams. They played each other at a neutral site, and one team won and became SEC champions. Wow! I think I figured it out! C'mon, mich.

Alabama v. Fla. St. is the tough one. I don't care which one makes it, but if I had to make an argument, it would be that Alabama is just a better team, and FSU's schedule was weak.

A road win against a top 5 team is as good of a non con win that a conference could have during any given year. The only comparison I could think of, without looking it up, is when OU and Baker Mayfield won at Ohio State. While the Louisville win is certainly blunted given two things; the win was by the what 8th/9th best team in the SEC, and the team who they are comparing their conference best against, just completely smothered that same Louisville team.
The larger Louisville point is that the SEC has done nothing at all, on the field, to show that they are worthy of ignoring metrics and on field results to jump any other conference champion.

Florida State beat LSU
-
FSU gets left out because making FSU mad is much easier to handle than making the entire SEC mad.
-
Don't get me wrong, MIR. I'd love to see the SEC get shut out, and that's what is probably just. Regarding L'ville, is Plummer their QB1? If so, I wasn't impressed. No pocket mobility. Slow af. Just stands there like a statue.
-

Could we mollify the SEC by selling them on the idea that Texas is basically SEC, now?

rough ridin' nuts. Why did they not penalize them last week but did this week? Makes zero sense. Also they can't make the best team argument while moving Alabama ahead of FSU but moving Georgia behind them. This was simply putting an SEC team in the four.

I didn’t realize this until today. FSU should have been in over Bama.

There was never a chance that the SEC wasn't getting included.
It's the big 2 conferences now. Thank God they expanded to 12. Let's just hope they don't revoke autobid for Big 12.

I think the committee had to face a very real question: which fan base would be most likely to attempt to assassinate us if we left them out? For that reason I think bama was an obvious choice. Don't get me wrong, being a committee member is a cushy gig, but these people did not enlist in the Marines. And if you're not in the armed forces I think you have a reasonable expectation of being able to do your job without someone killing you because of it

There is no auto bid for the Big 12 per se. The top 5 ranked conference champs get a bid. Effectively its an automatic bid, but if we had a 3 loss champ, we may not get a bid if two lower conferences had champs that ran the table

It'll essentially be a lock. I'm not worried about it as a conference going forward until they actually change the rules

Bingo. It allows, as Mike Norvell pointed out, the committee to use fortune telling to pass everyone some bullshit, instead of just looking at the results to pick the four teams.
-
Not surprising that the committee wasn't able to figure out that an undefeated P5 champ should probably be in the playoffs.
-
I’m guessing it was a pretty easy decision for the committee, I watched about 3 minutes of their game last night and said there’s no way that team is getting in the playoff

They are better
the whole notion of elevating teams based on who is "better" is a perversion. the entire idea of sports is about what you have achieved. what you have earned in competition. not who you are.

The weird thing about it is that it's happening to the Florida State Seminoles. It wouldn't be that surprising if Wake Forest would have gone undefeated and been left out.

I'm not sure how you can confidently claim that when they had the chance to penalize Florida State the previous two weeks, and didn't do so. If it's just about the broken leg, you tell us what changed between now and then? Their defense completely shutting down a previously top 25 offense made them a worse selection?
Not including a team because one person broke their leg, in game 11 instead of game 9 is insane.
-

They literally make up something every year when they leave someone out, and it's never consistent. Pointing out an injury as the reason is just awful. They should shift the blame to the fans. Tell them it's because not enough of them watch the games.
-
Yep, the reasons are never the same. They left out the Big 12 one year because of the lack of a championship game, and dropped FSU spots this year after winning a championship game vs a team that is as good as anyone Bama beat.
-

He said several contradictory things. Corrigan also literally said they took Liberty over SMU because Liberty went 13-0 and SMU lost to OU and TCU.
The people who choose to be the chairs of these committees are sadists. You have to go on national television and have to justify and be the face and voice of some crap you probably don't even believe in. It's even worse for Corrigan, in this case, because he's got to deal with these people at conference meetings and even the commissioner released a statement dragging the eff outta him.
-

There was a pretty good quote from Bowden about how the FSU administration chose the ACC over the SEC to avoid having to "wade through that SEC" every year that came up recently. It's going back to well before anything they did this season, but that stands out as something FSU could have done differently to better be in a situation for a 4-team playoff (crystal ball would have been necessary in the early 90s but still, that was a choice they made).
I don't really have strong feelings one way or another about FSU, but the conscious decision to take the low road regarding conference affiliation coming back to bite them in the last possible year of the 4-team playoff (and possibly accelerating the unraveling of the ACC as a consequence of this year's field excluding an unbeaten FSU) gives me a giggle.
-
FSU wouldn't be FSU without all of the games that Bowden won there. They still benefit more today from those national championships than they would from being in the SEC.
