They love thinking about us.
-
Im not sure why people think rodriquez is good. The dude sucks, and benefits from teams keying on McGruder.. This Anderson for TCU is making him his b*tch
:D
-
Some great hurt in there.

Ya, I saw that one. Jealousy maybe?
-
so many terrible posters and "jokes".
-
I don't really care what the phog thinks of us. That's the same group that was talking about "a special group of seniors" while referencing a team that lost to TCU.
-
Ya, I saw that one. Jealousy maybe?
well, not everyone has an art. i guess we're the only ones, actually :alleyoop:
-
"Awnhell"
-
Does anybody understand why the have a problem with our PA announcer? I don't really have a problem with him unless he holds a player's name for too long over the speakers when we should be making noise. :dunno:
-
poor little shitheads, they only have basketball season to talk crap. They had the entire football season to come up with these lame jokes
-

Just butthurt in general

I have a problem with every PA announcer, but ours is far better than some of the others (Mizzou, ISU, etc)
-

:D
I always enjoy things like this.
Who on the ku team was trying to guard Markel Brown and Marcus Smart in Lawrence?
Who on the ku team attempted to guard Garland Green in Ft. Worth?
-
I'm really enjoying the fact that the phoggers are in so much fear that we're about to encroach upon their exclusive title ownership. That they lie awake at night thinking about it pleases me to no end.
-
Jesus, our conference sweeps in titles and selfs adultery is just killing them. :frown:
-

Damn, I must have missed the Big 12 championship ceremony after the TCU game.

I just got back from an alternate universe where the refs didn't piddle down their leg at the end of the KU-ISU game. The Big XII championship ceremony there was glorious, sorry you missed it bro. Also, Bill Self got caught with a female escort...did that happen in this universe as well? I'll go check the newspapers :cheese:

Damn, I must have missed the Big 12 championship ceremony after the TCU game.
Party at my house for a joint Big XII 'ship ceremony, TSC style! Saturday at 9 PM!
You're invited Beems.
-
Jesus, could you imagine TCU being your only talking point too stay safe in the head? Lord knows, I :bawl: couldn't. Hope beems finds peace in this world. Football & bball, JUST WAIT TILL SPRING!
-
TSC!
-
The Phogtards are nervous that they don't have this locked up yet, and they know they're lucky to even be tied after the ISU gift. Makes them extra cranky.
-
i think our PA announcer sucks too. if i were to guess, he probably does weddings as a side gig.
-
Hey, squwaks, what's your problem?
-
Why don't KU'ers like this drama? I mean, the not knowing has to make them enjoy the last half of the conf more than normal, right? I don't get it.
Fans should love this. I mean, something is riding on every game and it makes games like the KU/ISU or the KSU/TCU games actually watchable.
KU should be thanking us for keeping their viewership so interested for so long.
-
Ill give em credit for octagon of room. :dunno: Somewhat clever and often more true than i want to acknowledge.
-
Yeah :frown:

it baffles me how every ku fan brings up their orange bowl victory when talking about football and tries to hold it over our heads. like having a bcs bowl win 5 years ago somehow makes them better than us forever. what will they say when the bcs is gone next year and viewed as a failed postseason format?

Not trying to be mean, but you have really been struggling with the two-letter word "to" lately. You should only use the three-letter word "too" in this context: "I like pizza, and my friend fanning does too." As for the rest of your post, I'm not even going to try to decipher it. I'm just going to assume you forgot to take your meds last night.
-
That was bugging me, too, beems.

Don't ever change Fanning. You either Beems.

Your average ku fan thinks about KSU once every 4 seconds.

It only really matters if the girl is dead. Or if said girl is actually a boy :surprised:
I think those would be the only scenarios that would truly surprise anyone.

Gotta keep on that horse until it dies....next year. Expect to hear it a lot.

It's a great moment for KU football. It's basically just a reminder to everyone that KU can get it done with the right coach, just like K-State. It's really no different than K-State fans who bragged about the '03 Big 12 title against Oklahoma.
-
i would use the crap out of the Orange Bowl win if i was a ku fan

It's a great moment for KU football. It's basically just a reminder to everyone that KU can get it done with the right QUARTERBACK, EVEN IF YOUR COACH LUCKED INTO HIM AND STUPIDLY BURNED HIS REDSHIRT, CUTTING HIS CAREER SHORT. It's really NOTHING LIKE K-State fans who bragged about the '03 Big 12 title against Oklahoma.
Fixed.

The difference is that we won the North and went on to beat the crap out of the #1 team in the country. KU on the other hand, didn't play Texas or OU, didn't win the North and didn't play in the Big 12 title game.
Yup no difference. :dunno:

Unless you're old as eff, you'd have no other choice.
-
The nice thing is if we get a trophy and banner in hoops this year. A few years later we wont be so bad that a continuous "L" keeps showing up in the box score. I meen seriously.... Nebraska and Colorado have as many Big 12 FB wins as KU does the past 2 years

Well, one thing is for sure... you guys are extremely butthurt about that 12-1 Orange Bowl season. Every time a KU fan brings it up, grapes are the first to try to invalidate it. The Big 12 schedule worked in KU's favor that year, but don't act like we would have been guaranteed to lose against Texas and OU. Texas lost at home to K-State that year, and OU lost at Colorado. KU, on the other hand, won at K-State and at Colorado, and beat everyone on the schedule except for a top 5 Mizzou team (lost by 8 on a neutral field). If anything, KU's Orange Bowl season is better than K-State's '03 Big 12 championship year. KU finished 12-1, #7 in the BCS, with a BCS Bowl win over a top 10 Virginia Tech team, while K-State lost at home to Marshall and finished with four losses total in that '03 season.
-
i haven't read this yet, but the topic makes me think...how can they talk so much crap this year if our record against the other 8 teams in the league is better than theirs...and we have only lost to #1 (2x) and at #5 (1x) (where they've lost 3 total games the past two years). They're a Curtis Townsend on zebra fellatio-sesh away from being in second by themselves and also have the WLOAT in TCU. I rough ridin' hate them, you guys. I'm so NOT TSC. (me thinking about being TSC = :barf:)

It's a trick to get you to discuss how they have beaten us twice.

Ben do you know how bad it hurts to be called a grape?
It's just a game good grief

You omitted all mention of a good Tech team that you did not meet either. Further, that VT team was awful. The missouri game was never in doubt and I hate you.

btw, it's been all crickets over there since dax threw out the "who was guarding brown/smart & that loser from TCU (I can't even name without searching their roster)?" question. DORKS

I think the point is that some of you talk about this like it was yesterday, very weird that the poster put that pic up in a basketball thread. That 12-1 season loses some luster after 5 years and really loses luster when you go 19-42 in said 5 years.

I'll absolutely continue to invalidate ku's 2007 Orange Bowl in the context of the Mt. Everest of Butthurt that the phogtucks exhibited for years about how K-State never played anybody/beat anybody. In Snyder's entire tenure K-State never had the good fortune to go two entire regular seasons, and only play 1 game against a Final Top 25 team, like ku had in 2006 and 2007. So the phogtucks utterly invalidated K-State despite the fact that K-State played 2, sometimes 3 and occasionally 4 FINAL Top 25 teams every year during the regular season . . . with many of those years having games against eventual National Champions and arguably some of the best teams in college football history. So I'll invalidate the absolute pud that was ku's 2007 regular season schedule all day long and twice on Sunday.
Hell Texas A&M walked into the Dome in St. Louis ranked 10th in the country in 1998.
After 2007 the schedule stiffened and it was nothing but a race BACK to the bottom for the worst football program in the Big 12.
-
Let's also not forget that for KU to have their glory year in football, it took the coaching triumvirate of Bill Callahan, Dan Hawkins and Ron Prince. Even with the three powers struggling they couldn't get past Gary Pinkel.
-
This thread started out pretty neat.

Gotta keep on that horse until it dies....next year. Expect to hear it a lot.
The difference is that we won the North and went on to beat the crap out of the #1 team in the country. KU on the other hand, didn't play Texas or OU, didn't win the North and didn't play in the Big 12 title game.
Yup no difference. :dunno:
It's a great moment for KU football. It's basically just a reminder to everyone that KU can get it done with the right coach, just like K-State. It's really no different than K-State fans who bragged about the '03 Big 12 title against Oklahoma.
But... but... but.... Mangino is fat!

I think 07 ku was better than 03 ksu but not as good or as deserving of the bcs as 07 mizzou
I disagree - we beat one of the best CFB teams in the the 10 years before '03 and since. Had we not played without ER3 early, we do a lot more than we ended up accomplishing. The '03 team (with ER3 healthy) would have destroyed '07 KU. Not even close, IMO. Oh, and eff TSC.

Well, here's the rub: KU fans believe that winning one game > winning enough games against good opponents to win a conference championship. Whenever a KU fan cites that Orange Bowl win, knowing that one game is all they have to hang onto, is that they are tragic victims of small dick syndrome.

the 03 team was all over the place. kinda like the 08 bball team. if 03 ksu played against 07 ku and both played up their potential, yes obviously 03 would destroy the 07 ku team. my point is, BEEMS, that nobody is comparing 03 ksu to 07 ku except you. the only reason anybody is butt hurt about the 07 ku team is because they:
1. lost to MU
2. did not win the north
3. did not play OU or UT
and yet still go the BCS bid over MU.

Lost by 8 on a neutral field you guys! Wave wheat in your faces all day

I agree all around, Mo, but quit forgetting that they got away without playing another good league team in Tech that year.

I think mocat just needs to calm down and restock on some tsc. Mizzou did get screwed out of a BCS game, but they always get screwed come bowl season because no bowl committee relishes the opportunity to invite a bunch of meth'ed out, toothless inbreds to their stadium. KU deserved props for getting their program in a position bail out the Orange Bowl committee. Furthermore, I think KU was screwed in 2007. They should have been playing Ohio State for the BCS National Championship instead of 2 loss LSU, and I think they would have won that game. ESPN just started tooting the SEC horn and the SEC money wins again. A small time program like KU is never going to get a crack unless they go undefeated, and that's just not fair when a garbage team like 2007 LSU gets to call themselves national champions.

Re: Why is KSU good?
Coming from a family that is predominately KState fans I have watched many of their games over the last 4 years. The difference b/w Frank and oscar is that Frank never focused on the offensive side of the ball for them and oscar has which combined with their good defense and fundamentals has allowed them to become a much better team than they ever were when Martin. Looking back on that 09-10 year State and us may have had the 2 best teams in the country, just incredibly bad luck for us and average coaching for them. This year I think they will make it to the sweet 16, but with those fundamentals who knows they could go all the way to the final 4. For us I think we make it to the elite 8 but we are more volatile and could go out early or win the whole thing, you never know which team will show up. Sidenote, I'm going to Manhattan this weekend cat fans, try not to be giant douchers to all us KU people who are there for the weekend. We really could care less if we have to split the title, we all know who is better in the end. We know our football team sucked last year. We know that you just "feel sorry" for all of us that have to attend a school that isn't as upstanding and distinguished as yours. Lets all drink, be safe, and celebrate what to this point has been an interesting year of basketball.
Must suck to be so non - :kstategrad:

Yeah, it's a message board. KU fans are going to discuss K-State, Wichita, Big 12 standings, etc., etc. It's not like there are zero KU threads on goEMAW. Using your logic, KU is just as deep in your guys' heads, if not more.

ku really handled that pud regular season schedule in '07, well, until they actually played a team that finished in the Top 25 that is.
Then after that, it was a lead brick in water race to the bottom of the Big 12 and holding steady as the worst football program in the conference.

If KU fans could get paid for thinking about KSU they wouldn't be such poors.

It cracks me up that they can't understand that playing a game in Wichita isn't about $$$ it's about throwing a bone to largest alumni base in the largest city in the state. Got to admit I had a blast at Old Town before the game 2 years ago. It was a pretty awesome setup.

Had ku beaten MethU and then gone on to be CCG by beating OU and they hadn't been in the BCS title game, that would have been a screw job.
But they didn't beat MethU, and thus, did not deserve a BCS championship game appearence.

Only in the land of Butthurt Central would this kind of post even exist. KU handled a top 10 Virginia Tech team in the Orange Bowl and covered the spread in every single game that season except for one (Mizzou). After that, KU beat the crap out of Ron Prince the next season and won its third straight game over K-State (52-21). We finished 8-5 and won the Insight Bowl. It wasn't until the middle of the '09 season that crap hit the fan.

They're definitely lil' bro, you guys. Think about it. They are constantly think about us: how cool we are, how great we are, how much they want to be like us. Then, they hit puberty and think they can beat up their big bro (now a grown man). Big Bro goes on to agree to a stupid game of 1v1 with lil bro (b12 championship game) and puts him in his rough ridin' place. Then, lil bro plays another game vs someone his own size (bucknell or something) and gets donkey-kicked in the nuts again. TSC sucks and I can't wait until we donkey-kick them in the nuts, you guys! :excited:

Neutral Site Capacity
Intrust-15,004
Sprint-18,972
Intrust is 26.44% smaller than Sprint
The Sprint Center is 26% larger than Intrust Bank Arena. Intrust Bank Arena is 21% smaller than the Sprint Center.
Comparative math skills like that explain alot when it comes to :kstategrad:

Well F, why don't we just move Bramlage to the JOCO area, if the single largest cluster of KSU fans is the only important thing to scheduling. The WVU game last year was awesome and non-con games at neutral sites let us schedule elite wins over pud out of state teams.

When Nebraska went to the national championship game against Miami after losing their final regular season game to lose the North to 2-loss CU, all I heard was "Sure, CU is the better team, but Nebraska has to be in the game because CU has 2 losses. Come on, Nuts Kicked." Well, in 2007, here sits 1 loss KU, wearing exactly the same slipper that NU was wearing, only there was no NCAA prince to come save the day because the SEC money was just keeping them on that SEC dick. It's just sickening that the deck gets stacked against small time programs like KU and they will never get their shot because of it. I'm just glad that we don't have to worry about bullshit like that. The media loves us, for Christ's sake.

ku has to maximize every dime they can out of basketball, their football program is hemorrhaging money, nearly $13 million in the red in the last 2 fiscal years combined from an operating standpoint for ku football. Their athletic department put up ugly operating numbers for FY 2012. They're not going to move a basketball game off campus unless they absolutely have to.

Equity in athletics Report ku:
2012 Football: Expenses $20,625,241 Revenue $15,343,186 ($5,282,055)
2011 Football: Expenses $13,095,945 Revenue $9,525,773 ($3,570,172)
I was off a little, but still, huge losses for football, and look at that 2011 revenue for football
-
You are right, KU football loses money like a siv, no argument from me.
I appreciate you placing your source because I have never looked at those reports and was very intrigued to read them. I do have a question for all you cat backers. In football and men's basketball the cats spend hardly any money compared to how much they bring in. Is the school just trying to hoard money or are they saving for some projects? I know Currie was brought in to fund raise and keep the operation in the black, which is commendable, but man they could still spend some more cash particularly in basketball.

In football and men's basketball the cats spend hardly any money compared to how much they bring in. Is the school just trying to hoard money or are they saving for some projects? I know Currie was brought in to fund raise and keep the operation in the black, which is commendable, but man they could still spend some more cash particularly in basketball.
Um, K-State is in the midst of $103 Million dollars in facilities improvements, with more on the way.

you're right though, we had been "saving" - if that's what you want to call it. the $20M basketball facility, the $70+M westside football gateway expansion, the new astro turf, the new OOD floor, the new rowing practice facility...these are all things we've done or are doing 1-2 years.

Seems like the money was used for facility urpgrading. As good a reason as any to save and spend money. I actually look forward to Bill stadium after the renovation, should be pretty boss.

I don't know what you are talking about. Memorial Stadium is the nicest stadium in the big 12 with a track I have ever seen. Plus those laz-y-boys in the end zone really bring something to the hundreds that attend a game on Saturdays.

What are the odds 36 years from now..........
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
we are saying 2013 was KSU's last League bball championship? Or 2012 last fball championship?
I would say about 80% chance.
-
Future generation smack!

It's bad over there right now. They're not very good at TSC.
-
They really don't like it when we go ahead and call ourselves Big 12 champs, do they?
-
I'm sure most of you have seen the new phog/ku fan talking point...
K-State fan: If KU doesn't want to share the title, then they can't claim 9 straight because 3 of those they lost the tiebreaker.
KU fan: True, but did KU lose twice to any of those teams?
-
Rules are rules, we don't make them

I always find the head-to-head argument interesting because, in order to be tied, the winner of the head-to-head game necessarily lost a game to a WORSE team than they, the team that the loser of the head-to-head game lost to, are.
-
I'd quit bringing up that they beat us twice if I were the. . Makes the fact that they just tied us look really bad. I mean had to beat us twice just to tie us. Yuck.

Ouch, those liquidity ratios look pretty scary. I think if I was the auditor in charge here I would have to go with a going concern opinion.

I like how they justify past tied championship in which they lost the head to head by pointing out it was an away game (and ignoring the nortard schedule).

Beems, KU once stormed the field (and i think even tried to take down the goalposts) after you guys beat a non ranked team to become bowl eligible in FB a few years back.
Now if kstate had done something over the top when we got our first NCAA bid in a long while back in 2008..... then that might have been a little lame. But celebrating championships isnt out of the norm.

I'll reserve judgment until the year 2046

They're very anti celebration over in Lawrence . . . they forget they tear down goalposts after beating unranked football teams etc. etc. They can celebrate any lil ol' thing all day long and twice on Sunday, but everybody else? No sir, no celebration for you!!
Clear sign of a lack of self esteem and petty jealousy.

I don't really believe this. I mean, I've celebrated winning the Big 12 in football, winning a meaningless game against a top 5 Texas team in football (multiple times), winning in Norman, beating KU in basketball, beating #1 Texas in basketball, and winning the Big 12 in basketball, and all of the celebrations end up being pretty much the same. I really don't know what I would do to celebrate a national title that I'm not already doing every other time I feel like celebrating.

Was at a wedding when KU won the semi final (or whatever game was on Saturday). Was mostly EMAW wedding, but there was a KU girl there. Most were being mean to her, so I pulled her to the bar and we started taking shots. Then we danced. Then she fell down and started throwing up. So like we did two things the same and only one thing different! :D

Well, KU fans don't celebrate most wins, they only feel relief it wasn't a loss. So it makes sense the one time they celebrate it turns into anger after they realize how much fun it is and get mad at themselves for not doing it more often.

Old' Roy had em cut down the nets but leave a little part to not be disrespectful.
The Jayhawks, however, stopped short of tearing the net completely away from the iron rim. It still dangled after the gym had emptied.
“We didn’t want to show any disrespect to Nebraska, Kansas State or Missouri – the three teams we have left to play,” said Williams, whose team improved to 24-2 overall and 13-0 in the Big 12.

“We didn’t want to show any disrespect to Nebraska, Kansas State or Missouri – the three teams we have left to play,” said Williams, whose team improved to 24-2 overall and 13-0 in the Big 12.
Pretty sure Roy told everyone he was going to stick around and finish tearing down the net, then he mushed the everloving crap out of KU and left for UNC.

I found this interesting article. 2002, after clinching a share of the BigXII Title, Ole Roy staged a net-cutting ceremony in AFH. and there were still 3 games lef to be played on the schedule!!!
http://arbiteronline.com/2002/02/21/kansas-clinches-share-of-big-12-title-102-66/
"Rather than wait until his team clinched the title outright, Williams opted for a net-cutting ceremony Monday. Wearing shirts and hats that read “Big 12 Champions,” each player took his turn with a pair of scissors at the net that hung from the north goal."
:surprised:
Well, I'll be.

Smock lives like a mile from the Nike campus. He's got bigger fish to fry than knowing the definition of words.

K-State's throwing a pep rally in Manhattan to celebrate a Big 12 co-championship? Holy crap.
Weird how now they are "co-championships", never heard KU fans use that term before.

Lol, Beems. It's not your spelling or typing, but you know that!
-
I you're going to use big words like lucid/livid, you better use them correctly.
-
Yet, no pep rally for football. Hmmm
They'll have a Super Bowl-esque ticker tape parade in Lowrents if they ever get that train wreck of a football program to 6-6 and an invite to the Idaho Potato Bowl.

Indeed, I love when d00ds totally use the wrong word and then just call it a "typo." So adorable.

Look at all the empties, just more proof that nobody in KC cares about ksu unless they went to school there.

They seem to be angry all the time. That can't be good for the esophagus lining.

I'd like to think it's just us, but they are that way with all elites. Hate Duke, Gonzaga, Michigan, Indiana. Absolutely unhinged about UK, North Carolina and Arizona.
I can't think of another school they actually kind of like.

My KU fans at work are losing it. They can't fathom the fact that we just had the best year in Big 12 history. Can't focus at work or anything.

Both sports were a true round robin this year which means that we are the truest double champ. Sorry bud.
