He's rich. He's a joke.
I wish I was both of those together
Don't feel sorry for him. How they lost today (the way it played out) is almost as shocking as Tcu pulling off upset over Ku in hoops couple years back
Why is he a joke?
Losing against Kansas with his pick of Texas talent
Joke is a bit harsh, no? How about bad fit for UT? Not hot takey enough?
"Joke" is a bit too harsh. However, there is no such thing as "bad fit for UT." There are simply coaches-that cannot-win-with-every-advantage and those that can.
Some coaches don't do well in an environment where you have to give your top 5 donors handies behind the caddyshack because they are more powerful than the AD.
Some people don't do well in an environment where you have a top booster publicly dismissing you as a coordinator when you take the job and continues to air you out for your everyone tenure.
Completely agree MiR. Strong wasn't walking into a *fair chance* job. He was walking into an uphill battle while having to change an entrenched culture and remake a program. If anyone here took a second to see what McCombs said in public, imagine the crap that was being done behind closed doors.
Side note: Care to wager how many times McCombs called Strong "boy?"
