K-State uni's need to have lighter paints IMO, otherwise I am alright with them and DO NOT want to go back to the old jersey tops, the new ones are good and the "K-State" on the front is sweet.

Also wouldn't mind seeing a new color scheme on the helmets.

Wow.  A uniform thread, with racism and over-the-top ridiculous talking points thrown in the mix.  (We aren't landing black QB recruits because of our uniforms?)  Is this a thread of parody posters?

Way to go, I guess.

I like our new uni's the old ones were good in their time but the new are an improvement.  I am with dax though, I think we should go back to the shimmer pants.

Oh and of course do something like white helmets and pants.  Would be redic. elite.  No changes to the overall scheme but just white instead of gray.

Also, NFL style socks.

Something like this.....

I dont really like the purp helmets too much, but the purple pants are a nice touch if they keep the stripes.  We would also have our regular duds but have the alternate colors as an option.  I mean you could do alot of different combos.

I'm no Koug but you get the picture.

I'm not big on overstated, but you can't get too understated either unless you are Penn State or something.

Would be sweet if we dumped the stripe on our helmets and they were the metalic silver kind of like Oregon's metalic yellow helmets.  Somebody 'shop that up asap...tia.

I said we weren't landing good QB's because our sense of fashion dates to 1990.  YOU are the one who associates "good" with "black".

Sometime tomorrow, I plan to write the KSU "what this t-shirt is saying" audio.  Our t-shirt will of course say "EMAW".

Feel free to include your own submissions in this thread.

My submission.  I would post an illustration of the unis, but phtobucket doesn't like me now...

---

This uniform is more than a uniform.  It includes the helmet and pads worn underneath.

This jersey is more than a jersey.  It says We are Wildcats.  It says that we are angry, purple-wearing, hamstring-cutting balls of furry fury.  Not literally.  We thought about putting the word “Wildcats” right above the numbers on the front, but that’s just not stylish at all.  It's not actually written out, and the jersey doesn't talk, but nonetheless, the underlying sentiment implied by this jersey is that we are Wildcats. We are not a stupid grazing animal, nor are we a wagon that gets hitched to stupid grazing animals.  We are not a stiff breeze, a fagical bird, or an unspeakable sexual act done with a crop.  We are Wildcats.

This helmet is more than a helmet.  It is the bumpy noggin of a Pachycephalosaurus that will bonk you into next week.  The facemask has blood dripping from the fangs.  Even our kickers’ facemasks have blood dripping from them.  Yet we aren’t even forced to leave the field of play to wipe it off, because the blood of our victims is always there.

These gloves are more than gloves.  They have retractable claws and a reservoir of stick-um so advanced that even Lamark Brown can make a one-handed catch without bobbling the ball.  Their booger resistant surface renders them useless to players and coaches of the unmentionable schools east on I-70.  They can only be put on when flashing the Lynch-Mob sign.  Sho-nuff.

This codpiece is more than a codpiece.  It is a titanium-alloy scrotal-sanctuary that can withstand up to three of SteveDave’s nut-smashing punches without suffering significant structural damage.  The D-ring that supports it is so light that it takes five seconds to fall to earth from belt height.  Rest assured that your EMAWrection will be fully protected, to ensure the EMAW genes will be passed into future generations.  Your ballz will age with wisdom and glory.

This uniform is more than a uniform.  It says we mean business.  Like a fireman, or somebody’s dad.  It says listen up biatches -- we are Wildcats.

All of us – every damn one.

EMAW!!!

No, I melded together a couple different talking points above.  Was lazy on my part.

I'll break it out.  I disagree with the argument that uniforms help/hurt recruiting enough to matter.  And I am offended for some reason by white guys asserting that African-American athletes (specifically) make their college choice based on how they will be stylin' on the football field.  (Not that people don't choose colleges for stupid reasons.  I've met several girls who attended ku because the campus was "pretty.")

EDIT: Anyway, Fledermaus just made the best post I've ever seen on a uniform thread, so that redeems it for me.

UPDATE:
Mizzou will not debut their jerseys until Nov. 23. :babywillie:

Some other gloves:

From what I can find, it looks like Texas, Ohio State, and Florida State are getting these.

Virginia Tech - "Good Guys Wear White"
tcu - "Never Back Down"
Ohio State - "Earned"
Florida State - "Fear the Spear"
Oklahoma - "Stake Our Claim"
Florida - "Finish the Mission"
Texas - "It Only Takes Eleven" (making fun of the 12th man?)
LSU - "Cochon de Lait"
Missouri- "Beast Mode"
Miami - "The U Knows"

LOL why does LSU want their uniforms to translate literally "guinea pig of milk" or "pig of milk".

Cochon de Lait is a cajun pig roast. They are playing Arkansas that weekend.

(warning:  going into pure seriousness here)

It's all about marketing.

Right now, these uniforms are being discussed on every college football message board in existence.  Every year, Oregon's new wacky uniforms are discussed at length on message board.

Do you not see value in being on that website next to tOSU, LSU, Texas, etc.?  Is there no value in being the topic of conversation of every college football fan in the world?

It is very difficult to measure the exact effect of advertising and marketing to recruiting, but I don't see how anything (other than coaches and on-field success) could be better for the KSU brand than being a flagship Nike school and being discussed all the time.  Because of our history and location, I don't see why we wouldn't want to scramble for even the slightest advantage we can get.  Just the possibility of landing a single 4-star recruit makes it worth dumping a silly 20 year old "tradition" that only exists because we think that the way a certain 70 year old does things is the only way you can possibly do things at KSU.

Ah, what the hell:

Quote
This t-shirt says more than "EMAW".  It says we're the angriest fanbase in America, and you just got us really angried up.

It says, do you feel like getting your ass kicked?  Because I'll meet you at the porta-pottie between the east grass lot and paved lot with a KATPAK special of nacho-cheese flavored jar of whoop ass.

Have you been to space?  We have, Catlab style.

It's about hatin' Huggs, Old Ballz, and weird gay christian basketball coaches.

It says Wildcats are the fiercest feline known to man.

It says that, yeah, our pregame music might have some homoerotic undertones, but that doesn't mean we can't beat your ass with a fluffy golf head cover and a Hugginista t-shirt.

It says Doom.

It says Freemaw is one of us.  ()

K-S-U Wildcats, might sound simple, but it's loud.  And angry.

EMAW
