You know what Scott City needs?

A lazy river. If they had one this topic would be over.

Kansas City folks say anything west of Topeka is western Kansas, so in that case KSU Main Campus is in western ks.

It really just depends where you are from as far as your lines of dividing Kansas.

For me:

Everything west of Hays (not including Hays)- Western Kansas

Hays to Salina-  Central

Salina to the line- Eastern

JMO though.

I agree with this.  Hutchinson/Salina are not western Kansas.
Hutchinson is In South Central.

    I survived the Dickey/Parrish era.
Google "Western Kansas" and the map pinpoints a spot just west of Russell Springs as being the center of Western Kansas.

As that spot is only 35 miles from the Kansas-Colorado line, then Western Kansas would be the western-most 70 miles of Kansas, roughly anything west of Hwy 83.

So Scott City is considered what? Eastern?

Wow. That's crazy. I wonder why they would put that location there.

Holy crap.  I'm wearing my Chubby Pickle shirt right now.
P-burg has quite a few good eateries.  Is the Triple C still open in Glade?

I like to look at it more in geographical terms rather than cities.  I see the Flint Hills as the border between eastern and western ks.  Anything west of the FH is western ks (sorry Salinians).  Anything east of the FH is eastern ks and the FH themselves are the heart and soul of ks.

Actually, in spite of the 'Try and Keep up, assholes' retort, doom makes a very good point.   Great Bend is pretty much in the center of the state geographically (both North-South and East-West).  I, therefore, respectfully drop Great Bend and McPherson out of my listing.

There is a cafe still open there but I have no clue if it's called the Triple C.
