Tough question, both are excellent players.  Kobe's wife is one of the hottest women on the planet.  (I imagine 'bron's women are pretty hot too, but it's hard to beat Kobe's wife.)

If I'm picking someone to take the last shot of the game, I want Kobe.

If I'm picking someone to start a franchise with, I want Lebron.

Best overall player..I have to say Kobe for now.  Lebron may have had the better season, but he can't be King until he wins a championship.

I have to agree with you on all points but LeBron is still my guy. He has taken my fantasy team to new heights (in the regular season but not the playoffs of course) and I love his commercials. He wasn't as good as Peyton Manning on SNL though.

I think the question is Kobe, LeBron or Melo?

I would not take Kobe. Getting too many games on his odometer and guys like LeBron and Melo are about to replace him as the unqualified elites. Last season, Melo surpassed 9,000 points for his career, and was the second youngest to achieve the feat. Who was first? LeBron. But LeBron entered the league a year younger than Melo did, since Melo was busy winning NC2A championships at the great hoops program which is Syracuse. So there are only two peeps in the category of scorers that Melo and LeBron belong to. I would take either one of them. They both realize they need to win at least a couple C'ships to be in the elite, or else they'll end up like Chris Webber.

Lebron, pains me to say.  Just watch Kobe he doesn't really impose fear, wear as if Lebron drives there is really no stopping him (and the refs will make sure of it).  Kobe these days is usually just facing up and taking a jump shot.

Last 5-6 minutes though, Kobe all the way.

last night was a good example of why kobe is better.  yeah, gasol is better than any of the Lebronaires, but Kobe can make Trevor Arriza and Derek fisher look like f'ing all-stars.

Joking, right?

LeBron took his team of misfits to the best record in the league.

This isn't even an argument. It's LeBron. And it's not close.

    The very best.
watching the nba is funny. because, like, it's such good basketball, and you think to yourself, "Wow. This is alot better quality than big 12 north hoops" and you just laugh.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Joking, right? Nope

LeBron took his team of misfits to the best record in the league. Now look at Lebron down 3-1 to Orlando where as kobe's team is ahead 3-2 over a legit Denver team

This isn't even an argument. It's LeBron. And it's not close. Yes it is, Lebron has never sniffed 81 points in 1 game

ok i misread the "in the playoffs" part but Jan. 16, 2009 he did put a triple double on orlando just like lebron james did last night and kobe has 16 career triple doubles
