I don't like our chances tonight with Hochevar pitching. This team is now absolutely pathetic.

Maybe we can get Gload back from the Marlins. He threw a scoreless inning for the Marlins last night.

Shutout again . . .

The new name for this thread?  "The Kansas City Royals . . . the new old Cleveland Indians".

Watch the movie Major League if you need a point of reference.

A leadoff double by Butler and we couldn't get him home. Absolutely pathetic.

Apparently we need Banny to be in our offensive Lineup more often....

Royals made some moves last night/today:

Quote
The Kansas City Royals sent pitcher Luke Hochevar down to Triple-A Sunday and put pitcher Robinson Tejada and infielder Mike Aviles on the 15-day disabled list.

Hochevar, the overall No. 1 pick of the 2006 draft, allowed four runs in 6 1-3 innings in Saturday’s 5-0 loss to St. Louis. The right-hander is 0-2 with a 10.80 ERA in three starts.

Tejada, 0-0 with a 2.65 ERA in 12 relief appearances, has tendinitis in his right rotator cuff and was placed on the DL retroactive to Thursday. Aviles, batting .183 with one homer and eight RBIs, has a strained right forearm.

The Royals purchased the contract of righty Roman Colon from Triple-A Omaha, recalled infielder Tug Hulett from Omaha and activated lefty John Bale (thyroid surgery) from the DL.

The return of John Bale is very important to the Royals right now as their bullpen has been struggling and needed some more help.

I agree. I was very impressed with how he pitched today. Wonder how Colon will do...

Being in the Central division there HAS to be at least one team to compete with Detroit... I think towards the middle part of the season it will definitely be a 3-horse race between Detroit, KC, and Minnesota.

All this talk about him being as healthy as he has been all year is complete BS. There is something wrong with him and the coaches know it...

Meche himself said in the postgame that he wasn't hurting, just flat-out sucked.

:dunno:

I was at the Royals game last thursday when Greighnkie was pitching. We got our ass kicked. Why couldn't he pitch like this last Thursday!  :chainsaw:

Can't have a complete game every night or else his arm might fall off... plus it was our bullpen that killed us that night.
