You can't be racist and like basketball.
1)  It snows constantly
2)  I've never seen a group of people so proud of how sh*tty their weather is.  They also, love, and I mean LOVE, telling you "this snow is nothing!  LOL!  Our weather is a lot sh*ttier than this!".
3)  Was David Hoskins from Canton?  That's where the Detroit IKEA is.  :yuck:
4)  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michigan_left  <---WTF?
5)  They love hot dogs (at least in the town I live in).
6)  The beach is not fun in January.
7)  DirecTV  <-

HTH, yall.

Please explain the michigan left clearly. I don't really understand it.

Also, did you know about the Michigan left before you encountered one?

how are the college sports fans.
i bet it's like Michigan = ku, Michigan State = K-State but 100x better?  pretty even split?

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

You just can't turn left onto or off of a divided highway.  To "turn left" onto one, you turn right and go to the u-turn lane, and make a u-turn.  To "turn left" off of one, you go past the intersection, make a u-turn, and turn right.  I had heard of them briefly.

Kind of meh on college sports where I am.  One guy in the office has michigan season tix, but he's like "we're really spoiled" and stuff.  I also need to weasel my way into one of his tix next season.  Overall, there isn't much "buzz" around the "office".  I did see an Okie State sticker on a van and got mildly excited.

Saw lots of michigan state gear at IKEA while MSU was destroying ku.

Also, the accents here are very, very, strong.  It's hilarious being the only normal talking person in the state.

HTH, yall.

Pretty accurate.  I lived in Zeeland for about a year.  It's near Holland.  I've never seen people so pissed when there isn't snow.  Also the first time I saw the city have to haul off snow from the sides of the road because there's too much.  It literally snowed everyday for 45 days once.  The wind chill got to -40 a couple times too.  You'll love the summer though.

The Michigan lefts were the most annoying things in the world.

It snows constantly in Colorado, except here the people b*tch and moan about the weather instead of appreciating how awesome it is.  Difference is that it melts here--not so much up there.  Ahh lake effect.

prolly used by 3-4 states total, all in the south.  (just a guess, never seen them elsewhere)

Michigan has baffling tort law too.  Like, you t-bone someone in an intersection, total their car and give them whiplash and you don't have to pay them a dime.  Rusty, you should have waited to have your accident.

You know, I mentioned doing it, out loud.  Had a ton of bottles for recycling, and was all like, "ya know, these wouldn't take up much room on a moving truck".  And then I would mention the seinfeld episode to make it seem like a joke.

My parents rented a trailer just to haul a bunch of "decorative" limestone when they moved from Topeka to Tulsa.  The trailer made it almost all the way, but was abandoned after two tires blew and the axle was bent just a few miles from their new home.

You mean frontage roads everywhere (hate this. seems much more annoying than Michigan Lefts)?  Can't really figure out what is different about the actual ramps.

I would guess they would.  Haven't heard any grumblings yet, though.
