FWIW, Brent Venables was in Kansas City last night and Bob Krause and Bill Snyder were nowhere to be found. Little tidbit for you. Earlier I hinted that everyone would be pleasantly surprised with the d-coordinator. I still think you will.

    Hey, basketball!!!
He had the evening off last night.

Like Stoops gives "evenings off" for his assistants to travel away to other states on a game week where your opponent is a top 12 in-state rival & the game happens to be the biggest of the CFB week. :shy:

Stoops doesn't make his assistants work late nights like Snyder.  BV was only getting his last fun in before he assumes his new duties.

Believe what you want. It doesn't hurt my feelings. Just wanted to fill you in. I'm telling you, from what I know, Snyder wants him here.

Stoops does not work his assistants on Wednesday evenings.  It is family night at the office and he has dinner catered in for all involved--wives and children included.  Stoops picks up the tab and leads in games for the kids.  My info is from Mrs. Jonathan Hayes who happens to be a personal friend and old neighbor.  Venables is single last I knew so it would be easy to him to beg off.

I know.  just look at him:

Jesus christ, I just came..... :censor:

Was that really necessary?

Is it necessary of me to drink my own urine? I do it anyway though because it is sterile & I like the taste.

But to be honest, most likely it wasn't. But I did put the little censor emoticon to warn people about what that post consisted of. :shy:

Good to know. And if Bill didn't........I would know then for a fact that he is an insane old man.

with BV and Vic as CO-DC's and Vic bringing Rumph then our shot with the Brown Bros. just went way up.

Of course I think that the BV thing is pretty tough to envision.

OK... Other Than his history at K-STate and the Iowa / Bill Snyder / Bob Stoops pedigree, What has Brent Venables really done? His defenses since Mike Stoops left have been mediocre at best. He gets revved up for the big game now and then (last weekend sticks out the most), but other than that... Can you name any times or games that BV has had an awesome defense? What about the past 4 bowl game defensive crumblings? Not to mention the 98 crumbling against A&M. OU Can keep BV for all I'm concerned.

did you read my post?

Yes, but you can't just throw out that he did in fact completely shut down the #1 offense in the nation.

I mean, it was incredible.....TT hadn't scored under 45 points in a game the entire season.

Then with one minute left in the OU game they only had fourteen points.

Thank you.  Glad I'm not the only sane person here.

Brent *might* be OK as HCIW *if* he'd be able to hire a real DC when the time came while he concentrated on recruiting.

I Think I am going to sign back up as "WichitaEagle" or "KCStar" and start making outlandish claims of fact.

WOW.
This info is handy if you like making dipsh*ts look like dipsh*ts.

OU's offensive YPP rank, conference games only:

2007: 6th
2006: 9th
2005: 4th
2004: 2nd

Compared to BV's defenses:

2007: 3rd
2006: 1st
2005: 3rd
2004: 1st

stats pulled from this jewel of a site.

Anyone who says Venables' defenses suck, is stupid.

Agreed Rusty and hope he is on our sidelines next year. Will be good for recruiting and also as a coach. I know him and Snyder are close friends and coach Snyder has always been high on him. That is enough for me. Kept hearing Snyder wanted him if he returned. Hope this is true. I will have even more to be thankful for.  :dancin:
