    Hey, basketball!!!

Looks like we're just taking Wyoming's sloppy leftovers though.

Dimel (1997-1999) 22-13 as Wyoming Head Coach

Koenning (2000-2003) 5-29 as Wyoming Head Coach.

^ Kind of hard to take right there. :runaway:

yes except for the fact that neither would be a head coach here.  Not really sure how their head coaching record is all that relevant.  There are a ton of great cordinators that failed as head coaches and went back to being successful cordinators.   I'm not even sure Dimel will be OC but he'll be on the staff in some capacity.

For those hating on the staff tell me do you think the guys Patterson has at tcu are better assitants then these guys?  I wanted Patterson as bad as the next guy but whatever staff Snyder brings will be better then the mid major staff Pattesron would have insisted on bringing.

The point was that when these guys were directing the Wyoming football program they went a combined 27-42.

That's not very promising from any type of coaching standpoint. :blindfold:

I would take Dimel's 4* WR and it isn't like Vic has alot to recruit to right now (you know the whole no HC thing). Also just food for thought DD is really connected to Darryl Wyatt as well.

As of right now.  27-42 looks like the glory years for Wyoming . . . they just fired Joe Glenn.

No, that is a target. Not a commitment. Dimel does not even have one commitment. :blindfold:

I doubt wyatt would take a step down to come here from Southern Miss.  He's associate head coach there.

Once again I don't see either one of these coaches if hired being coaches in waiting... I think once Snyder hits his 3rd year under contract he hires a head coach in waiting... just my opinion.

Perhaps, maybe not.   My impression from the news conference is that he'll be in it for the long haul.

And..

FWIW.. think BV.

Thanks MJ, I won't be able to stand up at work for about an hour now.

My only concern about any asst./coordinator that Bill brings in is the possibility that they will end up being the HCIW.  I'd rather Bill said, "I'm here til I die", the "calming waters" frightens me.  But if it's BV as DC, then Bill can leave whenever he wants, he doesn't have to wait til he's dead (and I would assume that if it was BV the only way he'd come is if he's the HCIW).

FWIW, I'd take Dimel as OC before Chuckie.

Didn't say he was coming, just mentioned the connection.

I would love to have DD be a Co-OC
With Wyatt or Applewhite.

I also want Vic and of course I would love BV. I don't think that all would happen :D

I do hope we have a lot of cash to throw at people.

This is Bill Snyder people, the OC is irrelevant.

the DC is promising (not thrilling) if its Koenning, Clemson had some players on D.

The calming waters was probably more to justify his return, imo, but from what has been talked about by Krause and others, he made no mention of how long he wanted to coach.  He could go short, or long.   The HCIW is just based on what I believe is being set up.   There was considerable chatter from those who know Snyder that he preferred BV to be the heir apparent, and may still.  Don't be surprised if BV ends up KSU as the DC/CHC.

Come on now.

Dimel and Koenning combined have more D1 experience, more experience around decent to good programs and coaches (Snyder, Bowden, Stoops) and more time out on the trail recruiting legit BCS conference D1 talent than Ron Prince's entire lineup of coaching staffs over the last 3 years combined.

Recruiting man!!! Recruiting!!!

Dimel:

Absolutely no one: http://arizona.rivals.com/viewcoach.asp?coach=1792&Sport=1

Koenning:

Absolutely no one: http://clemson.rivals.com/viewcoach.asp?coach=236&Sport=1

Right now I'd definitely take Franklin back as OC. Because, atleast he could recruit. :shy:

I agree and still feel he needs some young energetic coaches who can recruit or some proven older recruiters. I've never heard either of these considered to be strong recruiters. Guess we may see soon.

IDK... I think Snyder should hire Elliot.

And then fire his ass and tell him that's what he should have done five years earlier.

Who does Chuck Long have?

Harder to recruit to SDSU to play football. Obviously not to the city though. :shy:

And Chuck Long had the pleasure of being the OC on a team that was considered the "best of all time."

He was OC for a Bob Stoops team, that is good enough for me.

Def. not sold on Chuck Long, Major Applewhite, et al.  How hard is it to be O-Coord for a school with all the talent they can handle?  Stoops/Mack- "Here you go, there's an offensive roster full of really fast guys with ball skillz.  Try not to screw it up."  That's not where you find good OC's imo.

Major Applewhite would be a fantastic hire.  He is without a doubt the best case scenario at OC.

And despite MJ's wishes, I will be ridiculously shocked if BV is on the staff.  It just makes no sense.

I'm not sure if you would be happy or sad if BV came on board.  In your current emotional state, could your head handle it?  Would you lose all control of your bodily functions?

I think you a plaque or something when you're a Heiman Runner Up....OOHHH, OOHHH....where's Michael Bishop?

I'm not sure we should put bishop on staff but we could send him to Aggieville to knock out Pike's , he's good at that.
