Williams gets evaled by ESPN

http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=55592&season=2011&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fncb%2frecruiting%2ftracker%2fplayer%3frecruitId%3d55592%26season%3d2011

FWIW, pretty similar rating to Gruds & Russell

Love the fact we are recruiting the talent in KC... could be big in the future.

we're going to have 5 open schollies in 2013 and i will consider that entire recruiting class a success if we can haul in one specific KC recruit.

The best thing Williams does right now is score. He is a solid shooter out to 17 feet. He is effective in the post as his body allows him to beat up smaller opponents inside. His handle is decent right now and should improve by the time he arrives in Manhattan.

We've compared a lot of guys to Hoskins since he's been here, but that sounds like Hoskins, especially when you consider his size.  We'll see.

yeah, kinda wonder if he will fall as other players catch up in maturity.

but, supposedly he's a pretty skilled player, not just physically dominant.

kstate expected to visit michael carter-williams in the near future.

Wake Forest, Purdue, Kansas State, Arizona State, Connecticut and Ohio are all expected to check in on Carter-Williams in the coming days.

but, he indicates that he may decide before too much longer.  if so, he presumably would be choosing between these schools plus notre dame

i'm linking this here, though it could go in the 2012 thread.  good little q&a with malone by gpc (cassidy, but still ).  sounds completely lukewarm on ksu, but still nice that he's in san juan.

http://kansasstate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1018800

couple future names ('13s) to remember.

Kris Jenkins and Nate Britt.

I'd say slightly warmer than lukewarm.

And seriously, why would d. scott, fitz, and kcprephoops all want to block an elite tweeter like myself?  :dunno:

Rodriguez quips:

Quote
Krop’s backcourt returns the team’s leading scorer in Angel Rodriguez, a 5’11 point guard in the class of 2011. Rodriguez averaged 18ppg and 8apg and earned All-County as a sophomore.

Quote
When commenting on his players, Coach Rodriguez said: “Angel Rodriguez is a scoring pg, all around player and a tough player who is a great finisher around the rim. Didn’t shoot it well his sophomore year, but is shooting the heck out of it in our off-season. He is physically a very strong kid and great defender. He is going to be a heck of a point guard at the next level, and might be ahead of Javi Gonzales at the same age.

Things are looking good with Quinn Cook.

"(A visit to Kansas State) will probably be after the season," he said. "It'll be hard to do something during the season, so that's not going to come until after. He's spoken with K-state but hasn't had a chance to watch a game yet this year. I know he's real close with (Wildcat assistant coach) Dalonte Hill. They've been in contact."

"Quinn fits their style of play very well because he loves to run and be the guy passing the ball," Parker said. "That's what Dalonte always talks about. They wouldn't lose anything. We talk about (Jacob Pullen), and how when he's leaving, Quinn would be coming in. You don't miss a beat there. His final decision is going to be what his relationship is with a coach and what his chances of playing early are, though"

Dalonte, this is what all those Ks are for.
