Anyone ever been, things to see to do?

Going to watch the Yankees vs. Royals on Saturday. That should be kinda cool.

I know a guy that will be there for that game as well!  Don't get on a subway train unless you are sure it is going in the right direction would be my only advice.  I have only spent time (non-taxi cab time) in Manhattan so the outer burroughs are pretty much a scary mystery to me.

Also, is not as smelly as you would think!

What a relief! Are like the subway stations kinda smelly? Like don't people live down their and piss on walls and stuff of that nature?

Prolly, but wasn't too bad when I've been.  But, you will be there in summer and I've only been in October and November so maybe the cold kept the stank down.  I disagree with that it is a sh*thole, mrs. dave and I like it well enough and I pretty much hate smelly and gross things.

The subway's not as nice as the DC Metro, but it's also not as bad you'll expect.
“My arm gets tired from doing this,” said coach Bill Snyder, waving his arm.

Don't drink the water.  Oh wait, that's Mexico.

"Top of the Rock" might be less crowded than Empire St Building.
South Street Seaport, Battery park.  Kick back with a view of the harbor.
New Jersey.  Like heaven, but different.

NYC, what a great city.  I grew up in New York and will comment further when I get some time.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Doing that. Sounds like it should be pretty good. I'm like, somewhat terrified of heights, so vertigo might be a factor.

be sure to wear the "purps" cs, and give me an airport review when you get back (pm if necessary)
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I was too scared to use the subway when my wife and I visited last summer.  Luckily when we arrived on the street out of Penn Station there were tens of people selling tour bus tickets.  They were about a million dollars apiece but we got to see the whole city, visit the SoL, and go up into the Empire State Building.  If you're not visiting with someone who knows their way around, its good idea.

Only problem, native New Yorkers point and laugh at people riding on top of tour bus.  :frown:

You know that pizza place with the huge mural on the wall that used to be a church that they talk about on FN a lot?  Sucks  :yuck:

I'm staying at the New York Marriott Downtown. 85 West Street at Albany Street. It looked pretty nice. I'll be there for 4 days.

Will do on wearing purple. Have a good shirt picked out. Flying out of Denver tomorrow straight to Laguardia. Really pissed that we have no layovers or stuff like that. Denver's airport is always solid though.

Yeah man.  You will be right in the thick of it.  We usually stay about 35th and 7th Ave.  Anywhere S of C. Park is where everything is at (from my LNYIQ experience).

I have a 4 hour layover in DIA for my trip to the bay area!  :woohoo:

Well it's the parents anniversary present, so I guess we decided to go. Never have been to Yankee Stadium and since it's the last year and all. Also haven't been to NYC in a long time. My dad I guess has really always wanted to go to Yankee Stadium and stuff and see MSG and all of that so that played a part too.

Yeah, that's the part that always sucks when you want to go somewhere. Flying out of Garden City is really expensive and they have weird flight hours, like leaving 4 AM. I guess I got used to driving a longtime to go anywhere since MHK is about 4 hours from SC.

    Hey, basketball!!!
Last time I went to N.Y. I met Mike Jones in La Guardia. :shy:

Try to stop by & eat @ Planet Hollywood in times square. Pretty cool location. Ask for a table by the window where you can look out at times square.

Also, ESPN Zone is fun.

I swear I have a fetish for N.Y., it's weird.

I never even saw a White Castle in NYC.  Also, don't fly all the way to NYC and eat at a chain rest.  Clams will have tons of good places to suggest I'm sure.  We ate at this Brazillian steakhouse and it was redic. good:
