I enjoy reading everyones spins but lets stay on topic. Would Beasley of came to KSU without Hill? This is your problem with Ronnie Chalmers right? That it took him to get his son. Still having a hard time seeing difference with Hill and Beasley. You know why.....because there is none. Sad!
The scenarios are only similar in that a recruit came to both schools because of both men. Chalmers was laughably unqualified to be hired at ku. Dalonte (when he was hired by Huggins) was more than qualified to be our second assistant (behind Frank at the time). Ronnie brought his son...no one else. That was all he brought to the table. Dalonte has brought in more than his fair share of recruits, and done more than his fair share of coaching. Just because Beasley came to K-State because of Dalonte does not mean that he is not qualified for the job. He is. Ronnie Chalmers was not...that's the difference.
So you agree that K State got Beasley because of Hill. And that Hill was nothing more than an AAU coach before coming to K State. Qualified? Looking at boths resume Ronnie was a High School head coach for 5 years with 2 State Championships. Dalonte agian was.....a AAU coach. Nothing more! Stepping back from the situation a would say Ronnie was a hell of a lot more "qualified" than Hill. Keep telling yourself what you want to here. Whatever helps you sleep at night.
Do you enjoy just making crap up? Yes, at one time he was an AAU coach. However, he was NOT an AAU coach when he came to K-State.
"Hill joined the Kansas State staff on April 5, 2006 after spending
three seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Charlotte, under Bobby Lutz. He helped guide the 49ers to a 61-30 (.760) overall record and three consecutive postseason appearances from 2003-06, including a pair of trips to the NCAA Tournament (2004, 2005). Hill also helped the program to a share of the 2004 Conference USA regular season title as well as runner-up finishes in C-USA in 2005 and the Atlantic 10 this past season."
Further, if you can't discern the difference between hiring a father to get a kid from hiring a coach to get a kid, you may want to stop and think about it. It has the appearance of buying a player. While Delonte obviously had a close connection with Beasley, he isn't his father.
Lastly, the players that Hill has recruited outside of Beasley should have you convinced that he can recruit which is half the battle. Did Ronnie land any other players for ku?
