    Fear the Brick
For the squawktards:

Years of D1 Playing Experience/Coaching Experience:

Dalonte Hill:  10

Ronnie Chalmers:  Technically still NONE.

Number of years of D1 Playing Experience/Coaching Experience prior to current position:

Dalonte Hill:  7

Ronnie Chalmers:  NONE

It doesn't mean he wasn't a good dad, though.  I mean, looking back, I really appreciate my dad for coaching my baseball team.  All the other kids liked him too.  He's really a pretty cool guy.  Maybe Ronnie just really loves his son.  Did you ever think of that, Dr. Feelgood?  hmmm?

i remember the coach of my grade school baseball team was the left-handed shortstop's daddy.   :flush:

hated the left handed kid who would always try out for shortstop.  almost worse than the kid that always came to try outs in jeans.

Some obvious truth in that, but if you don't see the difference between paying a dad and paying an assistant coach who happens to have connections to a player, you really haven't thought this through very thoroughly.

Ronnie Chalmers:  NONE

Man, good thing we didn't hire him as a coach, we may not have won the NC.

Face it, ku hired Ronnie to get Mario.

K-state hired Hill to get Beas and his DC Assualt ties.

ku hired Ronnie Chalmers to get Mario.  Ronnie understood the game plan as well as everyone else.  According to the reports, it is Ronnie that has decided to leave.  However, I understand that this might just be a cover and it is really ku's decision to find another assistant.  Again, both sides knew what it was going to take to get Mario to play at Kansas.  I'm sure that Ronnie didn't have any assurances that he would be an assistant at ku after Mario left.  If he did and it wasn't his decision to leave, I'm sure he can file a suit.  To make all of you K-Staters happy, I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM WITH THIS AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T COME TO BITE US IN THE AS*.  I think the problem many of you K-State fans are having is that it didn't bite us in the as* this time.  I read the comment from a K-State fan criticizing Ronnie's experience compared to the coaches at K-State.  I would think you would be happy that we are hiring, what you might consider, in a reckless fashion. WE DID IT, WE WON IT ALL, LIVE WITH IT

I do have to hand it to ku, hiring parents really is an interesting way to circumvent the NCAA system.

Most universities wouldn't assume the risk of fabricating a proxy "position" that allows an athletic program to channel money to an immediate family as payment for a student athlete's services.  Fewer would be so blatantly transparent about it either with the immediate dismissal once the player in question leaves the program.

Truly elite in many respects.

seriously though, if Self needs to hire Henry's dad (he'll forever be known as that LOL, what a joke) to secure a commitment from Henry with all the ties he already has to ku...it really says a lot about how bad of a recruiter Self really is.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.
