So what's the deal with Mario's dad? Still with the team? Gonzo? Sorry if this has been discussed already.
If Ronnie were to leave that would be sad to see. He has been here for 3 years but a much needed three years for him and Mario. But if he were to leave that would leave open a spot for some Guy with the last name Henry. haha I think he used to play for ku or something had a son commit to ku years ago but I think he has a younger son that plays maybe he could come to ku...hmmmm
He was quoted in King's book about really wanting to get back to coaching. I assume he is keeping his eyes open for something.
Doesn't Carl Henry need some work?
I have heard he will most likely be leaving. The word is that Brett Ballard will be Dir. of Basketball Ops and Jeremy Case will take Ballards old position or he will be a GA. I also heard that this is will be a positive change in the eyes of the coaching staff....
Maybe Ronnie can start his own representation firm and give more underclassmen bad draft advice.
he needs to leave so we can hire the next good recruit's father
word on the street (a very reliable word) is that ronnie chalmers is a complete idiot... hopefully he is gonzo
Perhaps having a competent Director of Basketball Operations will allow our player to file responsive pleadings in a timely fashion, appear when their traffic tickets are called in municipal court, or otherwise handle the ever increasing "no big deal" legal issues our players have been involved in the past few years that our coaching staff seemed to have no idea about.
My dad coached my 'designated pitch' baseball team. But only during the years I played on that team.
That's kinda mean, dax.

But, but, but they had a "need", Ronnie wanted to be closer to his son!! There was no quid pro quo, Ronnie was OVER qualified for the job. Number of years of working for ku after their sons left:Ed Manning-ZERORonnie Chalmers-Likely ZERO
Tears should they just start basketball breeding farms?? You know, like the German SS had during WWII.

I'm not very good with 'issues.' I kinda just laugh at sh1t. I guess its kinda weird, but since there aren't any nepotism-ish rules written in the books, its ok by me. I kinda wish we wouldn't have hired a players old man, but what the hell...its only bball. Its for fun. Not sadness.
In the end, Ronnie will learn that Bill treats all the "help" the same. Once they aren't needed, they are gone.

If it's only bball, then why wish they wouldn't have hired Ronnie (or Ed for that matter)? Always funny to me, ku fans play the "well, I wish we wouldn't have done that" or the "I'm not a fan of that" but still applaud the product/end result as if it were pure/untainted. For f*ck sake, just say "I don't give a f*ck what my school does as long as we win" and be done with it. It's insulting otherwise.
I would rather my school not do things that cause me to raise an eyebrow. I would rather they just stayed flat. Maybe you should just go out and hire another AAU coach. That wouldn't bother me in the least.
Nothing is pure anymore. Its terrible. Coaches getting DUIs and not getting fired. A crying shame. No more white weddings. No more precious snowflakes. My tap water tastes funny sometimes. ku is a big ol meanie and its all their fault. Better?

Again, always funny the blind/naive eye ku fans have towards their basketball program. They'll say they are "concerned" or "aren't sure" or "would rather they didn't do that" about some of the activities, but in the end all they care about is winning (which is fine, btw) but then act like that winning was derived from something pure and innocent. Just admit it that you don't really care what they do as long as they win. BTW, 'Te was a D1 college basketball assistant coach before being hired by Huggins, something neither Ronnie or Ed could say.

I would agree ku has been doing it for awhile, I just think most (if not all) major college programs do it. Seriously, you are making fun of the naive ku fans, but don't see why one of your own assistants was hired? I'm not bagging Kstate for hiring him, again it's a business.I think the difference between ku and a lot of schools is that they are good enough at it to win and win big. But paradoxically are sometimes bad enough at it to get caught more than others.
For the squawktards:Years of D1 Playing Experience/Coaching Experience:Dalonte Hill: 10Ronnie Chalmers: Technically still NONE.Number of years of D1 Playing Experience/Coaching Experience prior to current position:Dalonte Hill: 7Ronnie Chalmers: NONE

But paradoxically are sometimes bad enough at it to get caught more than others.No. I have no illussions as to why KSU was successful. It hired a D1 asst. coach to get a player. That D1 asst. coach has turned out to have more than just the ability to get that one player. What I don't do is pretend otherwise. I don't say "I wish we wouldn't have hired 'Te" but still applaud the program this past season. I hope KSU hires more asst. coaches that bring in more players. I don't really care what they do, as long as don't get caught doing it (or the penalties aren't severe) and they win. But I don't pretend otherwise.

I mean, looking back, I really appreciate my dad for coaching my baseball team. All the other kids liked him too. He's really a pretty cool guy. Maybe Ronnie just really loves his son. Did you ever think of that, Dr. Feelgood? hmmm?
