Holy God Jayhawks. Seriously, leave us alone.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Come on man, the ku athletic department was actually thinking when they priced these games out.  Charge the highest amount for the only sell out game all year....thats a no brainer my friend.

when it comes to making money, lew the jew is second to none.

$85!!

Given that ku is now a bona fide national power, certainly the Texas game would've been the premium matchup for them.

How much would the KSU AD be able to charge for tickets if we played major rivals like UT, Auburn or USC this year?

When the family got the season ticket package and I saw ku tix were $85, I was like "Frack NU tickets weren't this bad, and they were supposed to be good."

Still might go to the ku game this season though, it's between that and A&M.

We went to Lawrence in 06' hoping to get cheaper tickets just before the game and it didn't happen for us.  I think they had like 52,000 in attendance that day, and I think it broke their record or nearly did that day, but the point is 08' is probably not going to be any easier of a ticket unless they go on a losing skid.  I would expect to pay face value, unless you want to wait until after the game has started.   :barman:

Neither side will put a product on the field worth paying $85 to watch....
Oklahoma State charged $85 for KSU-OSU tickets last year...and I paid because I have alot of friends down there, it was their homecoming (and their homecoming walkaround is great, if you ever get the chance to go to it, do so), and their fans are enjoyable to be around, tailgating, etc. The 5 hour trip and $85 was well worth it to me.
ku on the other hand...I'm not paying that much to drive an hour and a half, park 5 miles from the stadium, walk past house parties, get beer cans thrown at me (like the last 2 times we've played in Lawrence) sit in a crap stadium with people who don't know anything about football and are incredible dicks.

What sane KSU fan would pay that kind of money and go to that game?

We are going to get our asses totally &@#%ing kicked.  Spend the 85 bucks on a keg and drink the day away.

Got a 'B' in HS Alegbra
My KSU road trips:

1996 Cotton Bowl -- LOSS
1997 Fiesta Bowl -- WIN
1998 Big XII CCG -- LOSS
1998 Alamo Bowl -- LOSS
2001 Insight.com Bowl -- LOSS
2002 Holiday Bowl -- WIN
2003 Big XII CCG -- WIN
2003 Fiesta Bowl -- LOSS
2004 Texas A&M -- LOSS
2006 Texas Bowl -- LOSS
2007 Auburn -- LOSS
2007 Nebraska -- LOSS

Those are the ones I can remember...we're 3-9 when I go on road trips.  So based on the fact that I am bad luck and that it would cost me $85 to see it...I will not be going to Lawrence this year.

I'd like to offer several suggestions on how to get the $85 necessary to buy tickets for this game.

1)  Charge ku women $1 to rock, chalk, gawk at the size of your penis.  You don't even have to be overly endowed, b/c comparatively you will look huge compared to ku men.

2)  Sell regular candy bars for $2 under the guise of a charity.  Keep the name simple, such as "Kansas Youth Fund" or something.

3)  Collect loose change from wishing wells and fountains in Lawrence.  If anyone questions you, tell them you work for Greenpeace and are charged with picking up the coins so that the metals don't leach into ground water.  Tell them Greenpeace collects the change, takes it to a bank, and donates it to a local charity.  The "charity" of course, is you.  If they ask "What charity?"  Tell them Kansas Youth Fund and to look for them selling candy bars for their charity before the ku-KSU game.

4)  Walk the halls of the dorms and tell everyone they are giving away free SoBe soft drinks at the student union.  When the dorm empties (should be quick), steal cash, tickets, or both from dorm rooms.

Feel free to post your own ideas.
Once you get past the ethics, the rest is easy.

BT: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, stop, stop! You can't do this.
JR: Why?
BT: Because these are somebody else's wishes. They're somebody else's dreams.
JR: Yeah, but you know what? This one, this one right here. This was my dream, my wish that the powercats would beat the mighty Jayhawks. And it didn't come true. So I'm taking it back. I'm taking them all back.

The reason its 85 bucks is because its the last time your legend Josh Freeman comes to Lawrence.  Shoot, as much fun as Ive had watching him in person the last couple years, Id pay a $170 to get into this game.  Its the last time I will get to laugh at him with the ku student section.  At the end of the game, we are all gonna chant-Thank you Freeman.  You will be missed in Lawrence Josh.  Hopefully, he can talk Ron into letting him head on down to Mass after the game.  :woohoo:
