So if we've offered Spradling but not Traynham....

Spradling is legit IMO.  I like the offer.  I wouldn't mind if both were offered though.

Why would we offer Spradling and not Traynham?  The better athlete was definitely Traynham.  He had more TO's because instead of running an offense DCA would just jack up shots and throw it over 3 guys to Wally, but talent and skill wise he's going to be a much better player.  I think we should just offer all of Brandon Bass and DCA and just take the first 2 other guys who accept.

Grades could be a factor.  Spradling is good though....I think you might be selling him a little short.

Could be we offered both this weekend as well (Trayn. was there as well, correct?).  Good project for Meek/Jeff to follow up on imo.

All I remember of him was one game from the champ game, and I wasn't floored by him.  You think he's better than Trayn?

I think he's at similar level though they have different stregths.  Spradling is a better shooter, with some length for a point.  Tranhaym is quicker and creates more of a match-up issue because teams aren't used to playing those little waterbug types often.  I think both are high BBIQ "true" PGs though.  Both have impressive court vison.  Spradling is probably more versitile as he could play some 2.

How much do you think it plays in a recruits mind that, "They offered me first" plays in where they go??

It may seem like a stupid question, but I have very low WRTABOFIQ.
csourk is the best pre-college poster on this board.  way better than oxlp956

It can be a factor if all other factors are equal, but seriously recruits just go to the best situation for them.  But let's say Wichita State offered Spradling first, but then so does KSU, UNLV, VT, and Vandy then it doesn't mean a damn thing.

Agreed.  Means even more if they commit early though.  For example, if Spradling commits in a month or so, then his stock skyrockets over next year. Our odds of keeping the commitment are better than if we were just one of several schools offering later.

Good point.  but if the stock plummets we're screwed.

    Ready for Maize girls!
a little blurb on ESPN on tyler lamb at the UCLA skills camp:

Quote
Lamb was the steadiest out of all the prospects and demonstrated why he is one of a few elite-level wing-types in the West.

and

Quote
Tyler Lamb (6-4, 190)
2010, Ontario, Calif./ Colony
Lamb might have been the most consistent performer of the camp. His game has grown steadily in the past year and his demeanor is terrific. His handle has improved significantly as well, and despite not having great quickness, he has one of the better crossover moves in the West. In addition, he utilizes the pump fake as well as anybody on the high school level. Lamb still needs to hone his fundamentals -- he has a tendency to leave his feet while attempting to pass in the paint -- and continue to smoothen out his jump shot, which has a slow release, but overall his progress has been excellent.

way to go, frank'te!  (actually cali is figger's territory, isn't it?)

For Assault they were led by diminutive point guard Daryl Traynham. Traynham's quickness was a problem for the guards of the Force, and that allowed Traynham to really control the game at times.

I'll add him to the list if there is a legit source.  I know Rivals had him listed with us once, but no longer.

If I come across any good looking basketball talent, I'll be sure to put the "full court press" on. It's kinda weird that we are recruiting people my age.
