... IF ku is the championship caliber team that us phlocksters think they are, then bring it on.

"Title Dropping" - Very common tactic used by overzealous ku fans on message boards everywhere. Despite the fact that it has been 20 years since Kansas University's last national basketball title, phrases like "National Champs", "NCAA Champs", "Championship Caliber" etc., are thrown around very loosely. It is yet to be determined if this is delusion on the part of ku basketball fans or an intentional ploy of misinformation.

Start winning titles before you start "Title Dropping"

If you don't think ku has a legit chance to win the title this year (along with 5-6 other schools), you're an idiot. :jerkoff:

Nah you are the idiot if you think only 7 teams have a shot at the title.  How long have you watched college basketball?  Does the term "March Madness" mean anything to you.  When the Larry Brown purchased the title 20 years ago did he have one of the best 7 teams in the country going into the tourney?

Feel free to change history as your asinine arguments see fit.  Loser!

You're right, ku won as a 6 seed.  You got me.

More years than not the champion is a 1 or 2 seed.  Check your facts Jethro.

'90, '91, '92, '93, '94, '95, '96, '98, '99, '00, '01, '02, '04, '05, '07.

'89, '97, '03 and '06 are the only years since '88 that the champ hasn't been a 1 or 2 seed. 3 - 3 seeds and a 4 seed.

So my general prediction that this year's champ will be a 1 or a 2 seed is wwwaaaayyyyy off-based

But I forgot, you didn't follow basketball after KSU lost to ku in the regional finals until this year.  I'm glad I brought you back up to speed.

Jethro huh?  You live in Kansas or Missouri I live in Boston, find new smack.  Now for a math lesson.  If only 1 or 2 seeds win titles then that makes the number of legit contenders at least 8.  4 number one seeds + 4 number two seeds =8.  You contradicted yourself but I need to get up to speed?  Just stop it, I feel like I have lost 6 IQ points talking to you.  Its not so much of a problem for me as I have plenty to lose, for you however a loss of 6 IQ points puts you somewhere between Tom Light and Corky from Life Goes On.

1. You're not a Jethro because of where you live, you're a Jethro because you're an idiot who doesn't know what he's talking about and I called you out on it.  Yes 4+4=8. Good job!
Still stick with my statement of 7 legit contenders (Memphis, UNC if Lawson is healthy, UCLA, Tenn, Texas, ku, UCONN)

2.  You sure I live in Kansas or Missouri?

3.  Ohhhhhhhh, you are trashing my IQ OH woe is me!! What will I do now that some message board idiot says I have a low IQ...I just don't know...... :ohno:

Thanks for playing.........

Your low IQ has nothing to do with my observations.  I deducted you have a low IQ because of your repeated dumb posts on this board and you repeatedly being owned every time your fat vienna sausage like fingers hit the keyboard.

I do find it funny that you have changed your stance for the third time this thread.  Are all 1-2 seeds contenders or just the random 5 or 6 teams your great basketball mind deems fit?  Please don't answer that, you apparently are not smart enough to read your last 3 posts in this thread to have a consistent answer.  I don't give two steamers what you think, you have a low bbiq, I am better off asking my wife.

Show me where I've been inconsistent.  Said 6-7 teams have a legit chance.  Said that usually a 1-2 seed is the champ.  Are there a total of 8 out of all the 1's and 2's. yes, ok, sure if that is my inconsistency according to you, oh well.

Almost as good as Chalupagate was June Henley stealing shoes....from the Half Price Store.

The classic ku incident was the kid that was on the bball team and played QB for the football team (can't pull his name for some reason) he stole some girls purse out of her dorm room then took her credit card ordered pizza and had it delivered to his room.  Wasn't real  hard to trace that one.

It's not really a big deal all schools have their share of thugs but it cracks me up that people can be as hypocritical and delusional as the ku fan base to actually think that KSU is any worse then what happens at ku or any school.  I guess our bball team is a bunch of thugs because we had one guy get arrested go to court and get cleared  before he stepped foot on campus at KSU.  I'm glad ku sets such high standards that they don't even tolerate someone that was charged with a crime and found not guilty in a court of law except for the fact that they don't even come close to setting those same standards for themselves.

Mario Kinsey?

That was an all time great.

John Randle

One of my friends saw John Randle pull up to a party in Wichita, take a TV out of his car, set it on top of the roof of his car, and started watching porn on it.

U sure about that?  Still a lot of game left to be played, wouldn't say they are NOT yet.....UCONN could easily win the Big East and Big East tourney and that will propel them to a 2 seed, if you haven't watched them, they are playing good ball right now.

If the season ended today, no UCONN wouldn't be (UT would though). I agree with that, but it's not over today.

Texas will be a three seed when they lose to us and are 3rd in the conference. UCONN, maybe.  It seems they are cooling off from their hot little run (won by 1 to usf). Time will tell.

No longer talking about basketball. Now saying that the state if Kansas should have one "flagship" university. Also saying that the Big 12 should kick out K-State. Also said that if K-State is kicked out of the Big 12 it will have a tough time finding another conference.
csourk is the best pre-college poster on this board.  way better than oxlp956

So you went from A games to KSU doesn't belong in the Big 12 and we don't need two schools from Kansas in a BCS conference.

I really think blvd needs to seek professional help.   The delusions this guy comes up with rival some of the most insane people ever incarcerated.   I don't think a lobotomy would help.   When he says things like "KSU is in the bottom of the Big 12 in every meaningful category" where does he come up with his numbers and how does he justify which category is meaningful?

It's time we realize that paranoid schizophrenia is a pre-requisite for being in that group.

tyler, you may be a squawk fan, but dammit, at least you're sane.

You're right, silly me, only 24-2, ranked 4/5th currently, a probable 1 or 2 seed in their regional.  That's not championship caliber at all.......

And what's funny is that this is coming from a fan of a school that has won Zero titles, period. And hasn't been to a final 4 in what about 50 years now?

What you need to realize is talk of National Titles is not new just this year for ku fans. Or better yet, go . It's been happening since 1988... but your team continues to blow it, very often against teams that have no business being on the court with ku according to record and rankings... weak arguments for using the term "National Championship Caliber" And if I didn't hear the same crap every year, would I care? Not at all.

As far as your final comment, It doesn't hold any water because K-State fans don't talk as if we win the big dance every three years. So once again, as I stated before: Start winning titles before you start "Title Dropping". Better yet, go talk about fictional wins elsewhere.

Yep, you're right ku hasn't won the title since '88 but has still maintained excellence where they are a contender in many years since then.  Saying this year's team is "championship caliber" doesn't imply acting like they have won every 3 years, Have NO idea where you read that.

And to use your argument it's been too long since ku has won a title to be considered "championship caliber" that would eliminate Memphis, Tenn, Texas, UCLA (been over 10 years for them now) from being considered as "championship caliber". (and hate to tell you skippy, they are)

JFC, you're an idiot.

Skippy? Nobody calls me Skippy!

Anyway gratejhawk, your point is taken. This '07-'08 ku Mens Basketball squad is "Championship Caliber" in your opinion. You've deduced this by watching so many other ku squads, with probably more talent, come up short. But I get it, this team is special; this team really gels.

It's just hard for me to understand how this talk of National Titles continues. I mean, if you were to use winning percentage or conference titles you could be a great fan of your team and not come off delusional. Perhaps you are not aware of the variety of K-State message boards that I've been on over the years, where posters from ku jump on and start tossing around national titles as if it's old hat for your team. And imo, it does a disservice to your favorite team, talking as such.
