Too early to say anything.  Iowa State is clearly at the bottom and who knows on the rest.  With the exception of ISU the North did well this week.

I think that KSU has an argument for 1st in the north along with NU. MU looked scared and CU looked almost beat. ku played my Hellen Keller's all-girl catholic high school for the blind, so I can't say whether or not they can do much... ISU needs help.

I think it's too early to rank them. Nevada wasn't as good as last year, so we don't know very much about our team. Wake Forest will tell us a lot more.

What last night did tell me though is that you guys have a pretty good coach and we might be in for a tough game against you. I know you're probably crushed still this morning, but you should hold your heads high. You went into an incredibly tough atmosphere and outplayed a ranked team. I think that if Prince's recruits turn out he possibly could get you back to where you were with Snyder.

Central Michigan also has a new coach and is running a different system than the previous year.  They have a good group but it was not dominating until the end of last year.    C. Michigan may be no better than Colorado was last year.

Try and keep up with your opponents.  It must suck that you don't even know what you're opponent's histories are much less your own team.

ku has a history of really playing well in Manhattan....
The touchdown scored in 1997 has me pretty nervous about the game....
For what it's worth, the Big 12 North based on the results of the first weekend did have some shuffling:
My North picks before the season:
1. MU
2. NU
3. KSU
4. ku
5. CU
6. ISU

After one game:
1. NU- Old style Huskers, great run game and crappy air game
2. KSU- Impressive at Auburn....Easily our best run defense we have had since the 2003 season....
3. MU- Same old Pinkel (2 point gamble almost lost the game) and MU defense barely held off Illini backup QB....
4. CU- Buffs are much improved and they have the chickens in Boulder (ku is awesome on the road)
5. ku- Impossible to judge against a total creampuff opponent....Should win 6 with both Baylor and ISU in weed town
6. ISU- Lose to Northern Iowa and 0-12 is reality

our air game is far from crappy.  We had a qb shaking off some rust and some jitters but when he did throw, except for the pick almost every pass was right where it needed to be.  We had 4 dropped passes that cost him well over 100 yards in receptions, one was a 65 yarder that fell right throug hthe wr's hands.  There is no qb problem at nebraska, he is very good and will get better with each game.  they key for nebraska is getting somne of the younger studs like meno holt and niles paul further ahead in the passing game to be wr targets and guys that drop balls will get knocked down the DC.

also.  Nu was without their top tight end and wr yesterday.  get those guys back and it makes a differance.

No excuses corn.  He looked like crap and you and everyone else know that Callahan reigned him in because he isn't getting it yet.   The season he may improve and get better, but he better get that way quick or it's going to be a long season.

Honestly, I thought Keller looked pretty good. Save the intercepted pass (which was an absolutely horrible decision, mind you) but he had a pretty good day. I stopped watching it when NU took the lead, so maybe I didn't see the rest of it. He did have tons of time to throw, so I don't know to credit that to NU's o-line or to Nevada's pass rush. Either way, I'm much more excited to see this game than I was before we played Auburn last night.

Keller looked good when he threw on strike.   The kid has talent, no one is denying that.  The problem with Keller is that Callahan's system is very complex.  You really have to be in that system for a couple of years to really be effective and I think that's a hindrance when you're talking about the having a player with the skills as Keller to effectively grasp it.  Callahan is banking on Keller's sheer talent to overcome his ability to grasp the offense.  No doubt, Keller would flourish in a less complex system you can get comfortable with, but you need a QB with a lot of "memory capacity" to get a good feel.  Zac Taylor did well in that system, but it took time.  You have to play it though to get it.

I did notice a lot of delay of game penalties but Keller didn't show me anything that Husker fans should get worried about, jmo..

He'll only get better the more he plays. There's no question that with Maurice Purify and Teafatiller back, everything will work that much better. Us playing without Purify is like Texas without Sweed; OSU without Bowman; Oklahoma without Kelly etc.

Even with Sweed and Bowman, KSU managed to beat them.   That's a pretty lousy argument.

I think the thing to remember, honestly, is that Keller has a lot to master.  Again, I will say, that NU is a good team, but you looked exactly like you did against La Tech last year.   Played poorly first half, blew it out in the second half.   And stop using the excuses of Purify, Teafatiller, etc.    If Keller is that good of QB, then it wouldn't matter what WR are out there.
