Jon Cornish led the Big 12 in rushing yards and wasn't even taken in the NFL Draft. That just shows you what can happen if you have a solid o-line and a system that emphasizes the running attack. Whether it's McAnderson in there on 3rd and short, or Jake Sharp in there on 1st and 10, ku will have depth and talent at running back. Angus Quigley is every bit of 6'2 215 and would have played a lot last season if it weren't for a season-ending injury. He's a power back with speed and the ability to catch out of the backfield.
At o-line, ku doesn't drop off as much as K-State fans would hope. Travis Dambach was the weakest lineman we had in the starting rotation last year, and he'll be replaced by Chet Hartley, a 6'3 300 lb. guard out of Juco. Bobby Bowden and Florida State had Hartley as their #1 target at guard, but ku was able to sell the playing close to home pitch. Then you've got Ryan Cantrell moving back to center, where he started several games in '05. Cantrell is physically stronger and bigger than Ochoa ever was. Finally, at the other guard position, ku replaces Bob Whitaker, who might have been a step quicker than a dead man by the time he was done at ku. Adrian Mayes, a 6'3 305 lb. guard out of Manhattan will likely fill in for Whitaker. Mayes has been in the program now for 3 years and should already have the system down to a science as well as chemistry with his fellow lineman.
As for Reesing, short QB's have done just fine in college football. Heck, just look at Troy Smith. Look at Chris Leak. Reesing managed to throw for 3,343 yards and 41 TD's in his senior year of high school. He also ran for 756 yards and 8 TD's. If he can have that kind of success at the Texas 5A level, then he should have no problem being a solid QB in the Big 12.
