    Gettin' angried up!!!
That's cute you all are using individual teams Hall of Fames'.  Cute.

I've seen Sayers play in a Jayhawk uniform plenty of times.  Thanks for asking.
So you're at least 50 then, I'm going to assume. And you're on an internet message board devoted to a team you despise. LOL @ you not having a life. It must be fun reminiscing about the days that you got to watch Sayers play in Memorial while all of your high school (assuming you reached it that far) classmates went on to marry and have kids.

No, not 50.  30.  They do have video you know.  I don't despise KSU at all.  You're the fun little brother who everyone picks on.  But we still love you.  Mizzou, I despise.  Had too many good friends go to KSU to despise it.
Video doesn't count. Sayers could have never played at ku and it wouldn't affect you in the least bit.

What do you mean by affect?  I am extremely proud that Gale Sayers attended my University and he is still a great ambassador for my University.  It certainly does affect me.  I know it's disappointing KSU hasn't had a player the level of a Sayers, Chamberlain, Manning, or even Riggins; but history is important in relation to the esteem a University is held in.  I know football only started at KSU in the 90's, but the rest of nation likes to have a bigger perspective.

You know what's really pathetic?  When you try to list the great football players of your university of choice, run out at #2, and have to list two basktball players.  (What the hell was that all about?)  If you're gonna run "hall of fame players" smack, you might want to have more than two names in your back pocket. And no, you can't list hall of fame players from other sports.  You can have your "esteem" buddy, because your "esteem" stems from 2 players from 40 years ago, and a couple of basketball players.  (Still can't believe you did that.)

Oh, I can name more than two.  I like this challenge.  You start with Gale Sayers and John Riggins.  Then you have John Hadl, Bobby Douglas, Mike McCormack (NFL Hall of Famer if you didn't know).  Then Gilbert Brown, Dana Stubblefield, and Nolan Cromwell.  Hell, even Leroy Irvin.  Every single one of the people I listed were multiple time All-Pros in the NFL (actually not sure about Douglas, he did hold the NFL record for rushing yards in a season by a QB until Pit Bull broke it last year).  Three NFL Hall of Famers.  Three College Football Hall of Famers.  I believe Gary Spani is the only KSU guy in either Hall of Fame.

More hypocrisy from the Bird Nation.  When A KSU fan brings up previous basketball success, we are brushed aside with a quick "oh yeah, well what have you done this decade?"  But it is perfectly acceptable for a ku fan to bring up football players who played in the leather helmet era.  Spin city wasn't taped in Lawrence, but it sure as hell should have been.

Fat lot of good Clayton did for you all.  Very happy to have had Cornish over Clayton, thank you.  Where they're drafted really doesn't mean anything since they're not playing a down for either ku or KSU anymore.  I think it's more important what the player does for his while actually at the University.

How can you call me a hypocrite?  Never said what you allege.  You all have a fine basketball tradition, just no where near ku's.  And I don't think Gilbert Brown, Dana Stubblefield, Gale Sayers, John Riggins, Nolan Cromwell, Bobby Douglas, or John Hadl played in the leather helmet era.  I know you consider anything before Snyder ancient history, but the rest of the nation doesn't.

Basketball or football players?
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Difference between ku and ksu is that as sucky as we have been, we can still pull off an upset of a top 10 team ala texas 06.

Also for us a six win season is reason for doomsday a six win season for ku and you are on the brink of national fame.

don't get me wrong, I think we're back down to the ku's of the world.  But I do think we're slightly ahead of ku as a fb program.

To all ku Fans on this board:

Your football team is about ready to be run over by a superior team.  Here is the deal.  I love KSU sports and the history of KSU Football from Pappy to Vince to Snyder to Prince.  Your pathetic little attempt to make ku Football sound soooo great is an absolute falsehood.  You have no chance at winning a title in football in the next decade or longer.  You tried to cheat to become better but got caught, now it looks like you are under investigation from the Attorney General in NY.  No suprise there.  You have how many players in the NFL?  One?  None?  You have never won four games in the Big 12, you have played in how many Cotton Bowls, Fiesta Bowls, Alamo Bowls, Holiday Bowls?  How many times have you played in the Big 12 Championship?  How many times have you won/shared the North title?  How many All-Americans, All-Big 12 First Teamers, NCAA Coach of the Year, Big 12 Coach of the Year, Hiesman Candidates have you had.  How many times have you been on College Game Day?  How many times have you been ranked #1 in the Country in Football?  How many times have you beaten a great team?  How many times have you beaten the "best team ever" (OU '03)?  How many times have you had the pleasure of watching a truley talented, incredible, lynch mob esque Football Team?

That's enough.  Now go spread your wings and fly away!

Not bad for my first post since college Circa '91-'96 (season ticket holder since '87)

I never thought the prototype K-State fan could be exemplified to easily.  Well done.  To ingore anything prior to 1993 (and get so much else wrong) is not easy, yet so many follow this purple template.

I think how they play in the NFL and how the represent their school in the NFL is much more important than where someone is drafted.  Who cares if you're drafted first round if you have a horrible NFL career.  More people are familiar with Tom Brady than Akili Smith, Andre Ware, Ryan Leaf or Tim Couch, no?

Really? Backtracking?  You're excited about Clayton's pro career?  Especially after the great years he gave you at KSU?  It's too bad Cornish didn't get a shot at the NFL, but I'm pretty sure there will be no point in my life (even if by some act of God Clayton becomes Larry Johnson) that I'll say I wish we'd had Clayton instead of Cornish at ku.  The NFL players I listed above for ku actually did something at ku before becoming All-Pros and Hall of Famers.  You won't be able to say that with Clayton.

You just said that what they do in the pros doesn't matter. In the other thread you were touting that ku was so much better because of their Hall of Fame players. Guys like Sayers didn't do for ku what even Michael Bishop did for KSU.

Isn't it sad that in just 14 years, we've trumped all of ku footballs accomplishments (100+years)?

Not bad for my first post since college Circa '91-'96 (season ticket holder since '87)

I never thought the prototype K-State fan could be exemplified to easily.  Well done.  To ingore anything prior to 1993 (and get so much else wrong) is not easy, yet so many follow this purple template.
Isn't it sad that in just 14 years, we've trumped all of ku footballs accomplishments (100+years)?

Except wins and conference championships.  But hey, don't let me poop in the Cheerios.
The only thing that matters is the last 20 years.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Now that we're on the same page, please head back to the Phog and remind your classmates what a great Basketball program KSU has.  TIA.

Do the last 20 years really matter if Christian Orr can't remember them?

The last 20 years only matter if we're talking basketball.  If we're talking football then they are not relevant, it's much more of a big picture discussion.  Just like it only matters if a player puts on weight in the off season if we're talking about anyone other than Sherron Collins.  You get it right?

Why not talk about the entire history of both programs athletics.  Trust me, I'm willing to go back more than 20 years about ku basketball or football.

You just said that what they do in the pros doesn't matter. In the other thread you were touting that ku was so much better because of their Hall of Fame players. Guys like Sayers didn't do for ku what even Michael Bishop did for KSU.

Wow. Never said that.  As you highlighted in an earlier post, I said where they're drafted isn't important.  It's what they do once they're in the NFL that does.  And the difference between Sayers and Bishop is that Sayers did it in both the NFL and college.  Bishop hasn't even been able to do it in the CFL or AFL.
