You also have to love the use of soft wood for the "hard wood" floors. They looked nice for about 2 weeks until everybody started moving all the computer boxes into the studios and the weight destroyed them. I think they spent as much on the oak baseboards as they did on anything else in the renovation.

The nicest part about Seaton Hall is the basement that was designed and built by architecture students. Imagine that, taking advantage of the quality architecture program resulted in a better product.

I think I liked my studio the semester we were relocated in the Pizza Shuttle complex better than the studios in Seaton. At least we were closer to the @#%$ty food.

The original HOK proposal has been dumbed way down, they originally designed a facility that would be built on to the west side of the Arena, that would have two full length courts and be a state of the art basketball center for both the men's and women's program.   The top floor being the two basketball courts, with a "Grand Entrance" reception area and  offices for the men's and women's program.  The lower level would've been a new basketball weightroom and dressing rooms for both the men's and the womens with a new tunnel entrance into Bramlage that would've come out of the West side stands (Alumni side).   Had KSU gone with that, it quite frankly would've been one of the Top 3 collegiate basketball practice/office facilities in the country.

I'll repeat it till the day I die "CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER ATHELETES DESERVE CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER FACILITIES"  And you can say the same for ANY academic builing.  I'm an architecture alum and all 3 programs are ranked in the top 7 in the country, and seaton hall is a @#%$-hole.

I've been through nearly all of Vanier in the past month.  I was extremely impressed.  Granted, I haven't seen other places, but the upgrades in Vanier improved it a bunch from what I had seen in the past.  I don't see how you couldn't sell a recruit with the way it looks now. 

And once the limestone face around the base of the stadium is done, I think it will look very nice with the north endzone.

As far as this goes, the improvements definitely helped being the facility up to a D-1 level, which had not been previously under Snyder.  The problem is, it's still light years behind the upper echelon schools of the Big XII, and doesn't even come close to even what a school like Mizzou offers.

Can someone please make a good drawing of what this would look like from an aerial view. I can hardly imagine all of what Dax is describing. Three Katpaks and an Endzone dive for whoever creates it.
