No link, heard it on gamenight. Talking about the class of Billy D. at Florida, then contrasting it with "two words: scum-bag". I smiled for the first time all day.

Thank you. I am glad somebody besides us (KSU) sees that.

Oh come on.  Everyone's been saying that for the past year.  You guys have just had your fingers in your ears.  Remember how every kstater was ready to march on Rick Reilly's house?

Caught the tail end of that. I think he said something to the effect of, "Huggins made the worst decision he's seen in a profession known for bad decisions"

Still unbelievable.  :frown:

No.  Other people have called him a scumbag for being a drunk and recruiting thugs.  We're calling him a scum...bag for totally shafting Bill Walker, shafting K-State fans everywhere, and generally being disloyal.

True enough... everyone knew there were a few issues in his past, but leaving a job unfinished...quitting on a fanbase who loved him...bailing on players who bled for him...this is a whole new bag of tricks.

Exactly.  Huggins finally took those few areas of his character that seemed to be intact and flushes them down the drain.  The key to this decision is how selfish it was.  It's all about Bob wanting to go back home.  Nothing about the players and the coaches and the administration and the fans who supported him when he asked for it.  The only person who benefits from this is Bob and his WV buddies, while thousands and thousands of others are screwed, to varying degrees.  I've seen some selfish acts in my life, but this one really takes the cake.

Right, and we stood by him through everything.  We did everything he wanted from us.  What more did he want?  Then he does this to us?  WE GAVE HIM A SECOND CHANCE!  and this is what we get for it.  Talk about a bullcrap move with him.  I liked him and my respect for him has declined dramatically
It's a tremendous challenge here. I think it has the opportunity for the greatest turnaround in college football. It is not one to be taken lightly. ---------- Bill Snyder ( Nov 30th, 1988)

Thank God Pat Forde was there to tell you.

I mean, if only there were friendly people around to have told you what kind of a scumbag Huggins was before you hired him.

 :shy:
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

He had never given anyone reason to believe that he was disloyal and was dishonest. Those were two characteristics that always seemed to shine through with him. He stayed at UC for so long when he could have gone to much better schools. We were naieve to believe the bullcrap he told us. Now I just hope that Ron Prince will &@#% us over in the same way.

Outside of Billy Walker, I'd bet Ron Prince is probably second in line for being pissed at the news -- Now his crappy football team is going to be the university's center of attention.  If they get blown out at Auburn even more people might turn against him :blindfold:

Waks, Huggins got his DUI and had his heart attack and pledged to stop drinking. He didn't.

Huggins didn't give a damn about grad rates at Cincy.

Huggins hired Dalonte Hill away from Charlotte in order to steal Beasley. Thats the only reason.

Huggins would have left Cincy to go to Wvu five years ago if the President didn't like him. The man's alma mater has a president that hates him.

He was fired from Cincy. Of course he can preach loyalty when he's been untested like this.

Everyone knew he was of low character. This was told to you one billion times while he was hired and beyond. There is plenty to illustrate it. The man whispered thousands of lies to you and you all ate it up because you'd get more check marks in the 'Win' column. Even many of WVU's own posters on there scout board were bashing the thought of 'Thuggins' going there, and still are.

Its not hindsight Rodless, we were saying it all along. Its hard to feel that badly for so many of you when you were warned.

The man turned down NBA jobs to stay at Cinci you moron. WVU is the only job he would leave for. Plenty of KSU fans didn't like him before he was hired and then learned that a lot of the crap that they say about him was total bullcrap. You have no knowledge of Huggins' drinking habits, don't act like you do. Dalonte has gotten us Jacob Pullen and Dominique Sutton. He might end up being our head coach. That argument is bullcrap. Self hired Chalmers dad just to get Chalmers. Don't bring that weak crap here. And we all know that the grad rate arguments are bullcrap. Cinci has graduated more players in the last five years than ku has (just ask Dax for the numbers about GSR and that crap). You lose.

Goldy is assembling facts, a lot of which aren't even in proper context, which is why he's easy to ignore.

This was about character and loyalty, and if you talk to the players in the NBA who played for him, you'd get it.  I'm not mad he left for West Virginia.  I'm mad at how he did it.  Only one year, with all the stuff he did and was doing, and then up and left.  He could have waited a bit longer, maybe a couple more years.  WV might have hired a bad coach, maybe not.  Who knows.  Doesn't matter.  Bob was a great guy, and a great coach.  Those other "incidentals" take nothing away from his character because those who played and worked for him talk about him differently.

Theres a reason Huggins is known as Thuggins. Self's image is clean. Damn near every coach out there has a clean image compared to this guy. I very highly doubt that the entire world decided to hate on Huggins if he's so damn innocent. Plenty of Ksu fans didn't like him before he was hired but had to convince themselves that he was an okay guy so that they could stomach the thought of him being their head coach.

I can recall that Sports Illustrated writer that slapped you with the 'win at all costs' attitude and thats what it was. You sold your soul to a man that lacks character. He screwed you with one year of service. He likely strong armed Ksu with the 100k(laughable) buyout cuz he was waiting for the WVU job the whole damn time. Belien had a 2.5 million dollar buyout and Huggins has a 100k? He convinces Walker, a kid he would have been recruiting illegally if he was employed as a coach at the time, and leaves his ass in Manhattan. He promises that he won't leave when he's promised his kids so much. He says he loves the people here and then waltzes away to WVU a few days after they lose their coach.

Had a bad reputation before you hired him, proved it with his bending you over after one year.

I'm just glad that he now has had his second chance to make himself look like a good guy and he completely &@#%ed it up.  Don't be shocked if WVU doesn't get an invite if they're a bubble team next year.
