Scout.com's Eric Bossi on Rico:
"I've known Rico since he was between the 8th and 9th grade and have been watching him play forever. He had a chance to go down as one of the most decorated, if not the most, decorated Kansas high school player of all time. He had his mis-steps at home and I'm glad to see him getting his life back in order. He's always been a wonderful kid to be around but has found himself around trouble and unable to resist saying no. I do believe that around good people he will be fine. I love the kid to death.
What is interesting is that at his old high school and during summer ball he has played almost exclusively off the ball as a shooting guard. Excellent shooter who hits lots of big shots. Relatively strong kid but not a particularly great athlete. He's certainly not one of those little guards who plays above the rim. If he's really playing as a full time point guard now, that's a pretty significant development in his game.
Had no offers before leaving Topeka. I know KSU is interested, but I do not believe that they have actually offered yet. I've been getting lots of calls from college coaches looking to dig into his background."
Fairly recent update about Rico linked below, no mention of the Cats
