Don't you guys wish you could think of something as ingenious?
-
LOL.
-

-
I considered LSU and USC and UF, but uofk had those recliners in the endzone. I thought they were hilariously retarded at first, but then they got a cyber gold medal from some site I'd never heard of, and that CHANGED EVERYTHING. Plus I raped my 12 year old cousin AND my dad needed a job, so you don't have to be a math genius to solve that problem.
wut?
-
Showing they'll give an award for anything . . . ku just won one by parking a doublewide in the endzone and putting in some polyvinyl loungers and a keg.
You stay classy ku.
-
You serious?
Seats were sold on both a single-game and season basis and sold out for the 2008 season. Season tickets cost $2,500 for recliners and $1,500 for SportsStools, while individual game tickets ranged from $200-$450 per game.
Stools? At least you could have given bleachers or even plastic chair backs.
-
That's the worst place for that. The closer you sit at a football game, the less you can actually see the game and appreciate it. Now if they did this in the press box area....
-
Meanwhile, they're giving away tickets &/or having "BOGO" offers for every game and truly not selling out any of them...
-
Which do you guys think is the better ticket package this year: Rock or Chalk?
-
-
Cost benefit? $178.43 to erect. Thousands in return for dupes to sit in it.
Pretty sound business plan. Barnum would be proud.

I know somebody who has tickets to these rich people trailer park seats. I could retrieve pics from facebook but I will not. :blank:

:jerkoff:
oohhhhhhh, how elite and fancy LEATHER recliners and *gasp* an actual HD tv.
Come in from the rain, every poor slob in the country has both those. They just don't paint them awful colors and stack them on aluminum bleachers on a track.

And they serve Miller Lite in those slums!!! :barf:
-
Only a hyper obsessive little guy with low self esteem would actually attempt to claim that "club" that ku puts in its endzone is "high class".
But, that's our Bentard.

Kansas Athletics Wins Gold Medal For Revenue-Generating Idea
June 24, 2009
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas Athletics won the gold medal for Best New Revenue-Generating Idea in 2008-09 at the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators’ annual convention last week.
Kansas won for its Touchdown Club seating at Kivisto Field at Memorial Stadium. To capitalize on a previously unused open space in the south end zone, Kansas Athletics created an exclusive luxury seating and hospitality club at home football games.
The Club offers fans an experience unlike any other in college or pro football. Members receive amenities such as a private upscale buffet, wait staff service and private restrooms. The area includes 84 luxury Jayhawk recliners and 33 flat-screen LCD televisions. It also includes 28 “SportStools” that provided fans a less-expensive option.
Seats were sold on both a single-game and season basis and sold out for the 2008 season. Season tickets cost $2,500 for recliners and $1,500 for SportsStools, while individual game tickets ranged from $200-$450 per game.
The Touchdown Club is already sold out for the 2009 season.

Do they have BOGO offers for those seats too?
Hell, if it's a good enough deal, I might just have to buy one... If, for nothing else, just to spend a few hours in a "luxurious" leather chair. Haven't ever tried one out, but I heard they're incredible.

INVALIDATORS UNITE!!!!
:kstatriot:

All seats are inferior to the Funzone. :woohoo: :dancin: :fiesta:

Yeah, HD TV's and leather recliners are just completely white trash.
:jerkoff:
Sorry, overstuffed leather recliners at ANY outdoor sporting event attended in person are 100% unadulterated WT. I don't care if it's Snob Hill or the freaking British Open.
Perhaps for the recliner attendees with especially small man units, you could offer BMW roundel embroidery to compensate.
-
What exactly do you need hdtvs for if you are sitting that close?
Hey guys flip it to TBS King of Queens is on, lmao that Doug is one funny guy.

Because you can't see the game from the worst seats in the house, but it all becomes worth a ton of extra cash with recliners and a tv. Really gives you that gameday experience w/ the comfort of your own home....wait, why not just turn your tv up real loud at home?

You would only need to turn it up on 3rd downs to get the realistic experience.
-
Just to add a little tid bit.... uk doesnt even own this monstrosity of a seating structure. :peek:
They rent it from the seating manufacturer out of NYC. Huge lazyboy recliners in the mid day sun? Seriously?
Not sure why uk gets a gold star for that.....?

Note to Billy Blaze: Have luxury seating for wealthy fans. (Do it fast, nobody else has heard about this.)
I wonder if the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators’ also considered ku's other ingenious idea: give away thousands of tickets for free so they can say that you have sold out the stadium.

I won a gold medal for dragging my dorm fridge up close to the couch in the living room so I don't have to walk all the way to the kitchen to get a beer.
full disclosure: I did not do anything trashy like that, post was a lie

No, I think they built them into the Lazy Boys.

soooo, in the driving snow and pouring rain you are supposed to sit in a freaking lay-z-boy chair? How about if it is sleeting? If there is ice? Hey bro - both of my vehicles have leather seating and in the summer IT SUCKS!!! Leather recliners outdoors is dumb.
-
If Mangino sat in one of those for the duration of the OOC he'd sweat out 300# by the time the first conference game rolled around.
-
This gold medal idea seems to encourage the purchaser to sit during a football game. So now you are making more money while simultaneously neutering the home field advantage. They might as well screen them in, install some hotel A/C and video game consoles. Maybe some rent-a-pron as well.

I just checked, actually, and the majority of the major encyclopedias actually have pictures of leather recliners in the "white trash" entry to help illustrate. Seriously. You can't honestly think the "touchdown club" is somewhat classy. Equivalent to having a John Deere dealership and NASCAR fan shop in the stadium (but on TV all the time and therefore more LOLlable).

Yeah, HDTVs aren't associated with WT at ALL. It's not like they're the living room centerpiece in every trailer and crappy apartment in America.
Plenty of non-WT have HDTVs, but the argument could easily be made that the lower classes actually have bought into them at a higher, more rapid rate than middle-class and above. It's a fairly cheap piece of consumer electronics easily "purchased" on a credit or store card, not a Gallardo.

It's crazy that you uk tards think so highly of your new bleachers that you go post it on a KSU message board. JFC.

2008: Middle Tennessee St - the Blue Raiders earned a silver award for the Family Fun Zone, an area inside Floyd Stadium created to target families with children’s activities like inflatables, face-painting and balloon artistry.

Oh, and KSU took the bronze medal this year for electronic promotion (what was it??). :kstatriot:

Not to rain on the ku fans parade, but the Mets had this idea first...
